The Wyndham New Orleans - French Quarter offers exceptional convenience in the heart of the Quarter, praised for its friendly staff and amenities like a rooftop pool and infused water station. However, guests frequently report significant issues with outdated and poorly maintained rooms, inconsistent service (including discriminatory treatment), and steep parking and destination fees.
The room is good but the reason why you recieved *** is because there as no fridge in our room. I thought all rooms came with a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable but no fridge. The staff was fantastic Malika and Adrian the one who book tours they was the bomb.com. We will return and I recommend The Wydham. We were 2 min walk to Canal Street and 2 minute walk to Bourbon Street. We was close to all the restaurants and shops in the area.
Great place to stay while visiting the French quarter. Prime location: everything to see and do was in walking distance. The staff was great; they were very friendly and accommodating. Stop by the concierge desk if you want to venture out and tour the city. They will definitely lead you to some great activities! The lobby is a bit small, but it smelled AMAZING! (If they bottled whatever that scent was and sold it, I'd own stock in the company!) The only thing I would really ding them on was the expensive parking rate, the dated decor, and the tiny bathrooms. Otherwise, the experience was good.
Great hotel with a perfectly central French Quarter location. I called prior to arriving and received fantastic service from concierge Malika. She advised me about various transportation options from the airport, tours that her marketing department offers with discounts, great nearby brunch restaurants like Ruby Slipper, etc. Receiving her excellent tips and excellent New Orleans resources was truly a Godsend. Malika truly enhanced my Mardi Gras trip! Frankly the entire staff was very helpful, professional and friendly from the moment I called in the day prior to arriving. Awesome! The rooms were standard and nothing extraordinary but most importantly very clean. Nobody stays inside in NOLA so having a fancy room really didn't matter lol. It was so convenient and on the side of the building I was on seemed soundproof so the noisy Bourbon and Mardi Gras streets didn't impact my sleep. The hotel is also very secure with 1-2 attentive security guards manning the doors and lobby at night.
Had to go for a tournament, but staying in the French Quarter was absolutely awful. At night it was always busy (its NOLA, but still), and whatsoever NEVER kid safe. Service was bad. We were told we could get a late checkout at 4, but had to leave at 11. Parking is valet only, and we wanted to leave ourselves, so they made a huge issue out of that. Pick anywhere else to stay, but for the good parts, the room was ok. No fridge or microwave unlike it was promised, so that explains itself. I hear the Marriot next door is nice though. ?
My sister and I had a great time staying at the Wyndham. Great location right down the street from everything and the staff were all very friendly! The lobby smelled so good too. The creole restaurant downstairs was amazing and you get a certain amount off your meal for staying with the Wyndham (maybe 10-15% but I'm not sure). We did have a couple issues like the pool had broken pieces all over the bottom and tossed on the side of the pool as well so we were stepping all over these glass/stone like pieces. The wallpaper in the bathroom was bubbled and coming off but it really wasnt that big of a deal to us and is probably an easy fix that hopefully they took care of. They offer, complimentary with your stay, access and a bottle to fill for this cool water machine with all different flavors. You can add your desired amount of carbonation as well. The problem is they only give one bottle per room to fill. When we asked for another, they said they could charge us for one. Like 12 dollars or something!? Just a weird, inconvenient policy for 2 guests. It kind of stopped being a cool perk when they wanted to charge us for another bottle. Overall, we loved the location and the staff, the amenities could use a little updating, and the water machine is cool but please give the amount of bottles per guest. We would probably stay again, hoping some of these things were just a fluke, because otherwise it was a nice experience.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with Wyndham in the French Quarters. The front desk staff were by far the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life. Our first want to start off how we were not given the room that we paid for we was told by the front desk that they gave our room away according to Mr Lawrence. I also noticed how the black patron were treated differently from the white patrons. I noticed that only the black patrons would have to show their wristbands even if they would literally just passed security while the white patrons will walk right pass security with no harassment. This was done by black security so I'm not calling it racism just unfair practice. However Dave the night time desk clerk was not only rude he was very disrespectful. I explained to Dave that we were told that a cab would be able to pick us up at 3:00 a.m. by the evening front desk clerk who was also rude and dismissive. Although he did call a cab for us but wanted us to wait at the corner of canal at 3:00 a.m. away from the hotel telling us that the cab did not come down that street when we had seen several coming down the street picking up patrons. He told me that I would have to wait at the corner of canal when I asked him where was Canal he said down the street and a very angry tone. I explained to him that I did not live in New Orleans so I don't know where the corner of canal. He wouldn't even tell me the name of the cab company he just dismissed me as if I was invisible. The nighttime security guard who was very sweet to us called us a cab and made sure that we were safely put in a cab and took to the airport her name was Miss Shanzelle. We came all the way from Ohio to be treated less than and disrespected. I felt so defeated and disappointed that another human being can treat another human being like this especially after we spent our hard earned money on hotel that even want us there.
The lobby smells so good. I'm not sure what they are pumping through the ventilation but it smells so nice and welcoming. Hotel is in perfect location for all the action and walking distance to everything you need. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Was very surprised considering the location, you don't hear anything in your room at night. They also give you a water bottle and have a water station with many different options and flavors of sparkling or regular water.
My stay at the Wyndham hotel was good. I had a problem getting to the hotel to park because it was New Year Eve, and they would not answer their phone. So I had to pay and park in a parking garage a few blocks away from the hotel. The concierge tried to push the go to a lecture presentation to get free tickets, but I had enough of them lectures and bought my tickets at regular price. The hotel was good, and everything was within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay.
Everything about this stay was absolutely stunning, from the moment we arrived to the time we checked out. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every guest received exceptional service, always greeting us with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. The rooms were spotless, well maintained, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The amenities and perks were excellent and truly enhanced the overall experience. Every detail felt intentional and guest-focused. This hotel exceeded expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it and look forward to staying here again.
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is close to everything in the French Quarter. Bourbon Street is right around the corner. And the RTA bus and trolley system can take you everywhere else you might want to go. The hotel staff is excellent and helpful. The rooms were clean. The only thing we wished our room had was a fridge/microwave for heating up leftovers, but we weren't really on vacation to cook anyway. We are definitely glad we booked this hotel and hope to visit again soon!
