The location of this hotel is top notch if you want to stay in the French Quarter. The staff is very nice, polite, and informative. The hallways were nice and cool (thank goodness because most hotel hallways are hot). The ambiance is awesome in this hotel. The rooms are great. Simplistic but decorated very well. We had a minibar, fridge, coffee, plenty of storage, and a very nice bath. Everything is super clean and we had a great view of the pool/courtyard. We will most definitely give this hotel another shot in the future when we come back to NOLA.

I was traveling for business and debating between Hotel de la Poste and the Westin. As beautiful and reliable as the Westin is, I didn’t come to New Orleans for predictable - I wanted the NOLA charm, the character, the music, the food. I wanted to be in the action. Hotel de la Poste was perfect for that. You’re steps from everything, yet insulated enough to enjoy a calm, peaceful night’s sleep. If you want personality over corporate polish and a stay that actually feels like NOLA, this is the move.

Experienced: 1. Small spider on the pillow while laying on it! 2. Smell of weed in the hallway 3. Smell of bleach/chlorine upon entering the room 4. Someone vacuuming for 10min at 10pm 5. Friendly service upon check-in but felt too quick (it was the only contact I had for my entire stay) 6. I LOVED the decor (definitely my favorite part) but the wallpaper was duck taped and screwed onto the wall I was hoping for a diamond in the rough property with a cool swanky vibe but got a bit more rough than diamond. This property was just okay. I'm in NOLA every week. The week before I stayed at the Ritz and the JW is my usual spot. I just decided to get a little experimental and try this spot with all the Mardi gras activity in the area. I would consider returning only if I got an amazing deal or if I didn't have many other options.

Really enjoyed my stay - the rooms were cozy stylish, and well designed, the location was perfect - insanely close to everything but still quiet at night in the courtyard facing rooms. The free champagne was a nice touch and the whole place felt safe and secure, especially as a solo traveler. I was here for a work trip and wished I could have stayed at La Poste all 4 days instead of just 2 (especially when I realized how noisy the hyatt was...). I'll definitely be back in warmer weather to see a different side of the city and take advantage of the pool.

This hotel was fully paid in advance through Booking, yet due to a serious mistake on the hotel’s side, they charged my debit card three times. When I checked out in the morning, I spoke to the person in charge and was told it was an error and that the money would be refunded. However, to my complete shock, instead of fixing the problem, the hotel charged my card two more times in various amounts between 150-600 dollars. This is a tremendous absurdity and completely unacceptable. It shows a total lack of organization, professionalism, and respect for guests. Causing this level of stress and financial inconvenience is unacceptable for any hotel. I do not recommend this hotel at all and strongly advise future guests to carefully monitor their card statements if they choose to stay there.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel de la Poste and can’t recommend it enough. The location is perfect - right in the French Quarter and close to everything, yet still felt comfortable and relaxing. From the moment we arrived, the hotel embodied true Southern hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. Our room was fantastic, and the bed deserves special mention...I rarely sleep well in hotels, but it was so comfortable we slept for 12 hours straight! The restaurant and bar on property were also excellent. We enjoyed one dinner and all of our breakfasts there, and everything, from the food to the drinks to the atmosphere was top-notch. The space is clean, bright, and classy, and sitting by the window with lattes each morning was a highlight. A special thank you to Kat, who made our stay extra memorable. She was fun, friendly, gave great local recommendations, and even helped celebrate my birthday, right down to pinning the first dollar to my shirt. Truly exceptional service. We would absolutely stay here again.

I arrived at the hotel approximately 4 hours before check in on 12/27. We were operating on EST. They took our luggage, tagged it and escorted us to their lovely restaurant. The hostess sat us at their premium table- right on the street with the French doors open for us to embrace the culture of the Quarters. We had the best meal and everything was picture worthy. You will enjoy the hospitality more than anything else. You will enjoy the concierge getting you into your room before 4pm CST. You will enjoy Brittney the bar associate who makes the best morning NOLA Bloody Mary’s that include- okra- peppers- blue cheese and the traditional olives with horseradish if you ask- it was my breakfast and then my whole family started ordering them. Shout out again to the front office- I had to have my birth certificate overnighted via FedEx and they called me when it arrived on 12/31 at 12:30pm!!! It was a total group effort and I can never thank the entire staff for being so kind and friendly to me. I was proud to stay at Hotel De La Porte despite not having a microwave in my room ?

We stayed here for new years, Ayana was at the front desk, what pleasure she was. Happy always smiling and very helpful in all ways!! We had drinks at the bar with the bartender Brittany who as well was fun helpful and went out of her way to make sure we all were well served. Made our new years night fun as well with horns and hats to take with us that night!! Unique hidden gem this place is!! Phil. L. From cleveland

Overrated, greedy, and racist. I tried to cancel One minute after I booked only to see about 300$ of the total price is not refundable. I called Airbnb who I booked thru and they tried to call the hotel several times but no one answers. There’s too many fees and charges. Valet parking for sedan has a different price than SUV which doesn’t make sense since both use the same exact space to park. The receptionist is rude, racist, and not transparent. She kept mentioning prices and fees that is not in my receipt and her response was I think these are old prices they haven’t updated it yet. She smiles and talk to people from another race but she look like she can’t stand seeing us in the room. The room service girl kept slamming the door of the room next to us at 8AM. I asked her nicely to close the door gently since we are still sleeping. She stair at me and her exact response is: “that’s not gonna help me”. One more thing, they charge 30$ per night mandatory fee for tickets, food, and enhanced internet. The tickets are overpriced and you can find them elsewhere at cheaper prices. The credit for food is only 15$. The internet is not free. Try to connect and it will ask you to pay more money. My recommendation is to stay anywhere but this place. It’s not worth the price and excessively exaggerated fees and charges. Specially since the room is extremely small. Whatever price they advertise, if you do valet parking expect around 89$ to 103$ extra charges per day and that’s without internet.

Hotel de la Poste was a great place to stay located within walking distance to Bourdon Street and many other french quarter attractions. Kat at Hotel de la Poste made our mornings in New Orleans even better. She was our breakfast server and immediately made us feel welcome with her friendly, inviting energy. After just our first day, she remembered our order preferences, which was such a thoughtful and impressive touch. She also shared great recommendations on where to go around the city, which we really appreciated. Kat was attentive, personable, and genuinely lovely — a true highlight of our stay.
