The Westin New Orleans consistently receives positive feedback regarding its location, proximity to attractions, and friendly service. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues related to inconsistent room cleanliness, operational inefficiencies, and concerning staff behavior. While many appreciate the hotel's overall appeal and convenient amenities, some guests have experienced frustrating setbacks that diminish their experience.

I had a great experience at The Westin New Orleans during my recent visit. As a traveler, I don’t really need much—just a clean room and kind people—and overall the hotel delivered on that. My room was clean enough and comfortable for my stay, though the bathroom could use a little refreshing. The shower/tub looked a bit worn and not completely white, which made it appear slightly dirty even though it seemed like it had been cleaned. It likely just needs to be refinished. I wear shower shoes anyway, so it wasn’t a huge concern for me, but it might be something the hotel could look into updating. The highlight of my stay happened during checkout when I met Amanda W. She was incredibly kind and asked about my stay. When I mentioned my concern about the shower, she listened carefully, took notes, and assured me she would make sure it was addressed so the next guest would have a better experience. Her kindness and professionalism really stood out. During our conversation I mentioned that I wanted to try the oysters at the hotel but was about to leave to catch my Uber. Amanda generously offered me a complimentary appetizer so I could try them before heading out. That gesture was completely unexpected and absolutely not necessary, but it meant a lot to me that she wanted to make sure I left on a good note. Amanda W. was truly the highlight of my stay, and I’m very grateful I got to meet her. On my next trip to New Orleans, I would happily stay here again just because of her hospitality. The location is also perfect. It’s easy to get around by trolley, walking (especially in nice weather), or Uber since everything is so close by. I’m already looking forward to my next trip, and I will definitely consider staying here again.

The worst experience I have ever had at a 4 star hotel. Upon arrival the bellman didn't help us with our bags yet stood there and watched us bring in 6 bags. There were no instructions on how to get to the lobby. A gentleman finally told us after we went around the side we had to get on the elevator and go to the 11th floor. After checking in, the room was subpar at best but the view was nice. The beds were uncomfortable both of us woke up with back pains. The tv shut off on its own after about 2 hours and I had to climb under the desk to flip the surge protector to get it back on each time. The bathroom door wouldn't completely shut. A huge brown stain appeared in the shower ceiling while showering. Also there was no vent fan in the bathroom. The housekeepers only made the beds, didnt refill the coffee or creamers. I sent laundry down on Saturday and was told I'd have it back on Monday it was not returned. I called and the manager Amanda said something happened with the launderer and it wasn't just my stuff that wasn't returned. As if that made it any better.I fly out the next morning so what can we do. She assured it would be in by 8am, it was not. I called at 9am and after being on hold for about 5 minutes they told me it would be sent up. My jacket had stains on it. The $60/day valet was either smoking in our car or before he got in our car as it smelled horribly of Marijuana. Also they broke my car key fob, no explanation. When asked about it he said it was like that when he got it. I will never use this hotel again

The location is perfect. Central and walking distance to all attractions, yet in a quiet area, away from traffic and the noise of the busy areas. It was also outside the parade routes, which kept all options of going around open. The service was excellent. Any requests I had for the room were responded to within 10 minutes. Rooms are clean and nicely done. The observatory lounge, with its panoramic views of the city, had great vibes and good food. Friendly and wonderful staff.

Nice rooms and friendly service. The location is great, but some aspects are tricky. Check-in and parking were very awkward until we found the front desk on the 11th floor. Then everything was smooth.

I stayed at the Westin for my first trip to New Orleans and it was a fantastic experience overall. The hotel is stunning, the staff was incredibly kind and professional, and the service was top-notch. I was also pleasantly surprised that it’s connected to a mall, super convenient and very cool! The only downside was the shower. The water pressure was low and the water was cold during my stay, which was disappointing. Hopefully that was just a temporary issue. Aside from that, everything was wonderful and I truly enjoyed my stay.

connected to the mall, Good walking distance from Bourbon street & the French quarters. 2nd day they left our door open & unlocked Didn’t clean/sanitize the rooms, when we got there I had to Lysol the toilet seats, because there was dried up urine on it, scum in the shower. all they did was make the beds, empty the trash can & replaced the tiles Only two thin layered tissue rolls a day, for 4 vaginas & 4 butts . Ended up just ordering wet wipes from Walmart AC gave a weird smell Had a bar Some kind of mandatory $15 a day room service fee It was decent and close to everything, I’ll give them that much, would probably book again

We had a great time staying at the Westin. The hotel is clean, and bright. The bar is a wonderful place to relax and have a cocktail. The rooms do not have microwaves which is a bummer (one star deduction), and the hotel only serves coffee in their very expensive restaurant. But other than these two slight issues, we loved our stay. We were invited to go into their speakeasy one night...who knew? It was awesome. The gentleman who runs that does an amazing job! So much fun!

I recently completed a 4-day trip to The Westin New Orleans, and unfortunately, the experience fell far short of the expectations I have for this brand. From check-in to check-out, we encountered multiple issues that made our stay more stressful than relaxing. ?1. Lack of Transparency Regarding Parking We arrived late at night and asked the front desk about nearby parking with in-and-out privileges. The agent only mentioned their valet service, which is an exorbitant $65 per day. I later discovered via the Way.com app that parking is available in the very same building (Canal Place) for only $16 per day with in-and-out privileges and direct elevator access to the hotel. It felt like the staff was intentionally withholding more affordable options to push their own expensive service. ?2. Poor Communication of Amenities Despite being charged a $35 per day "Resort Fee," we received very little value or information. The front desk failed to mention that we needed to collect trolley vouchers from the concierge. If a hotel is going to mandate a daily fee, the staff should at least ensure guests know how to access the benefits. ?3. Maintenance and Housekeeping Issues ?Water Problems: On our first night, we couldn't even shower because there was only scalding hot water. Even the cold water from the sink came out hot. This wasn't fixed until the following day. ?Service Requests: After three nights, we actually had to "beg" for housekeeping to clean our room. They did not come once until we specifically asked for it. ?4. Check-out and Billing Errors The final day was the most frustrating: ?Early Lockout: Even though check-out is at 12:00 PM, our room keys were deactivated by 11:30 AM while we were at breakfast. We had to waste time getting back into our room just to get our luggage. ?Billing Discrepancy: When I checked the final bill, I was charged $110 for breakfast, despite the receipt I signed at the restaurant being for $88. I had to ask the agent to find my signed receipt. After a 10-minute wait, she admitted it was a "clerk error." ?Between the plumbing issues, the lack of cleaning, and the billing "errors," this was a very disappointing experience. For the price and the brand name, I expected much better service and honesty. I will likely look for other options next time I am in New Orleans.

What a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help. The view from the room and the 11th floor bar was my favorite. Watching the sun rise over the water and city was a perfect start to each day. The bed for me was like sleeping snuggled in a cloud. The comforter was thick and fluffy but light. Many places within walking distance, Cafe du Monde, the convention center, high end shopping on the first floor, outlet mall close by, the river walk, and our tour picked us up at the hotel. The large casino across the street was very nice (and not so nice) as well. The paddle boats have quite a loud toot as they go by. But we enjoyed the music of the nachez before our ride on the Creole Queen. The doors of the room close very loudly and I usually expect that of the main door but the bathroom door was just as bad.

Okay property, terrible and unprofessional service! I recently stayed at this hotel for a research conference. I chose this hotel as it's a few blocks away from the headquarter hotel, which we were able to book for 2 nights, and that one (also a Marriott hotel) was wonderful. The Westin, however, gave me the worst Marriott experience. Since the first morning, my family and I have been having issues with the internet connection. I sent a text to the hotel via the Marriott app. I was given an external tech support number. I felt confused, but still called this number. Then someone confirmed that there was an issue with the internet in our room, and there was no estimation on how long it would be fixed. A few minutes later, I received a phone call from the hotel, confirming the same issue and suggesting that we might be able to change to another room. So I went downstairs and tried to talk to the front desk to discuss the options. Then I had the most terrible and weird experience. First, the girl showed no willingness to help, repeatedly saying, "The internet connection in the entire hotel is the same; changing your room won't do anything." I felt confused and explained that I had just received a phone call and was told that changing rooms might be helpful. She seemed being annoyed, so I asked her if I could speak to the manager. Then the weirdest thing happened, she picked up a cell phone in front of me, saying "Babe, I need you" in a flirty tone, then said "a client is asking…". I felt her behavior was very unprofessional and offensive. I'd rather not think too much about it. I'm not 100% sure if she did call the manager. But it made me feel gross. So I called the Marriott customer service and submitted a complaint case right away. I even went back to the front desk and asked this girl for her name, as she didn't wear a name tag. It has been over 10 days, and I haven't received any response from this hotel. By the way, the internet was not fixed even when we checked out; I had to use my phone's hotspot.
