The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans consistently receives high praise for its luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and prime location in the French Quarter. Recent reviews highlight the attentive staff, particularly the concierge and bartenders, while also noting occasional minor issues with room temperature and outdated decor. Overall, guests consistently describe the experience as memorable and refined.
Patricia made my entire experience at the Ritz?Carlton a true 10 out of 10. I mentioned I loved mint in my drink, and she literally went all the way upstairs to find some just to elevate my experience. That level of care is rare, and it meant so much. Kevin was also incredible, and together they’re the reason I’ll always choose the Ritz?Carlton. The service here is unmatched. And to be clear — every bartender I interacted with was amazing. This team is something special.
What a big disappointment. Visited this hotel for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Checked in, advised our room was amazing, with fantastic views, of the city and the canal. Entered the room, looked at the view and over looking the back of the hotel. Great start. No acknowledgement of our anniversary, when most hotels do and even restaurants. I had ordered some champagne and strawberries to be sent to the room, never turned up. The hotel did give us $100 for the first day of errors. Next day went to the hotel bar, ordered some fries and drinks. After 40 min wait the waiter forgot them as sent them to another table. Reception staff are very sarcastic. Stayed in the Ritz before and this is by far the worst one we have stayed in. Room was even cleaned on one of the days. For a 5 star hotel, very poor. Breakfast was ok, omelette was not great, cheese all rubbery. Somethings we have missed off, but if you want a 5 star hotel in New Orleans look at other ones and brands.
Ideal location for your French Quarter stay. Close enough to easily walk to the action but not loud & crowded as it would be if you were in the heart of the Quarter. This hotel is so lovely & well appointed. Service is above & beyond at all levels- valet, check-in, restaurants. Even our turn down service was a notch above by taking the time to move our suitcases from the floor to luggage racks (we were in a hurry at check in and didn’t have much time to unpack). The art, the aesthetic- it’s not dated & dilapidated but also feels old & elegant. A must stay property!
This is a great Ritz in every way, located in an amazing part of town and an incredible part of the country. The lobby bar and live music are exceptional—the overall experience of music, beverages, and dining is outstanding. The rooms are above average, and I highly recommend the Club Level. The live music at the Davenport Lounge was a highlight, and our servers were attentive and excellent. The only minor drawback is that, due to the size of the hotel and the historic buildings it occupies, rooms can be located down long hallways, and multiple entrances can make navigating a bit confusing. That said, this is simply part of the charm of staying in a historic property, and the Ritz does a strong job of managing these challenges. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel and a very fun place to visit with friends and family.
I had the pleasure of attending a three-day bridal conference here this week and the event staff truly made the experience exceptional. From start to finish, their level of service, attention to detail, and genuine care for every guest did not go unnoticed. Coordinating an event of this size over multiple days is no small task, yet everything felt seamless and thoughtfully managed. The team was consistently professional, welcoming and incredibly attentive which created such a positive atmosphere for everyone attending. Thank you to the entire staff for the hard work, hospitality and care you put into making the event such a success. It was truly appreciated!!
We’ve been staying at the Ritz whenever we have the opportunity to visit New Orleans, and it has become our favorite place to stay in the city. Of all the Ritz properties I have experienced, this one stands out as my favorite. Every visit leaves a lasting impression and reminds us why we keep coming back. For our most recent stay we booked the club level, and it was absolutely worth it. The club lounge experience was exceptional, with incredible food presentations throughout the day, from breakfast to evening offerings. Everything was beautifully prepared and consistently delicious, and the lounge itself provides a relaxed, elegant space to unwind. The service there was just as impressive as the rest of the hotel, with staff who were attentive, friendly, and clearly dedicated to making every guest feel welcome. One of the things that really stood out during this stay was how amazing the recent renovations are. The property feels refreshed and beautifully updated while still maintaining the classic elegance and charm that makes it feel like a true Ritz-Carlton experience. The rooms and common areas feel luxurious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The location is another huge advantage. It is perfectly situated with easy access to the French Quarter and many of New Orleans’ most iconic attractions, restaurants, and entertainment. It is close enough to walk almost anywhere you want to go while still feeling like a quiet, refined retreat when you return to the hotel. What truly sets this property apart, though, is the staff. The team here is impeccable. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, everyone you encounter is warm, professional, and genuinely eager to ensure your stay is perfect. That level of hospitality is what turns a great hotel into a truly memorable experience. This property continues to set the standard for us whenever we visit New Orleans. It is elegant, welcoming, beautifully maintained, and consistently delivers an outstanding stay. Highly recommended. We cannot wait for our next visit.
As a Marriott platinum member I’ve visited multiple Ritz Carlton properties. This by far is a sanctuary for me. I ended up backing up the truck at the gift shop and spent hundreds of dollars there. The hotel smells so nice. It has such a great vibe and is such a perfect location. Definitely by far one of my favorite Ritz Carlton‘s.
I want to start by saying I had extremely high hopes for this stay. I booked a King Suite — a $1,200 reservation — specifically to celebrate my birthday. I traveled to New Orleans expecting the world-class luxury and attentive service that the Ritz-Carlton name is supposed to guarantee. What I received was the complete opposite. From the moment I checked in, things went downhill. No one took the time to walk me through the property or explain how to get to my room. I found myself lost — multiple times — wandering the hotel trying to find where I was supposed to be. Meanwhile, I watched another couple get personally escorted to their room with full attention and care. The contrast was jarring and honestly humiliating. Why did they receive that level of service while I was left to figure things out on my own? For $1,200, I expected to feel like a valued guest. Instead, I felt invisible. To make matters worse, when I brought up my experience at checkout — hoping for some acknowledgment, an apology, or at the very least, a genuine conversation — the response I received was a dismissive “Oh wow.” That’s it. No apology. No attempt to make things right. Just two words and a blank stare. This was my birthday. I saved and planned for this trip. I traveled specifically to create a special memory, and the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans made me feel like a nobody. That is simply unacceptable for a brand that markets itself on luxury and exceptional service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special occasion stay. If this is the standard of care the Ritz-Carlton now offers, the name no longer means what it once did.
Absolute perfection in every way. Seriously. I mean I know it’s the Ritz, but this hotel will blow you away. The authentic New Orleans style of the hotel is what drew me in but it’s the staff that had me immediately booking my next (and longer) trip as soon as I got home. We stayed here for Mardi Gras because it’s iconic New Orleans and because I knew it would be safe. And that was an absolute understatement. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are going to NO for Mardi Gras. It is worth every penny. The staff is phenomenal with zero ounce of pretension. Absolute hospitality at every turn. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the Ritz Carlton bed is one I will be ordering for myself - thank you Marriott for making that an option. So. Comfortable. Diptyque toiletries and Frette linens so you can absolutely luxuriate in your room. The Davenport Lounge (3rd floor) is the perfect place to unwind after a day of being out and about in the French Quarter. Seriously this hotel is just perfect.
I have had the opportunity to stay at this property on multiple occasions. The property itself is beautiful. It’s also walking distance to all the local downtown attractions. The on site food was great. The coctail bar with jazz was awesome as you would expect at the Ritz Carlton.
