The Roosevelt is a stunning, historic New Orleans property celebrated for its impeccable service and luxurious atmosphere, particularly praised for weddings and valet staff. However, guests consistently report that rooms are dated and in need of modernization, and maintenance issues regarding cleanliness and amenities (specifically the pool) detract from the intended five-star experience.
My stay at The Roosevelt was truly exceptional. The level of service throughout the hotel—from the restaurant to the spa and the housekeeping team—was nothing short of outstanding. Every detail was handled with care, and the staff’s warmth and professionalism made the experience feel effortlessly luxurious. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and impeccably maintained, creating an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. A truly five-star experience that I would happily recommend and look forward to enjoying again.
Breakfast: In room dining. Eggs way over cooked. English muffin was raw out of the bag. Sausage was ok. No fresh squeezed juice!!!!!! Only Tropicana and it says fresh juice on the menu. The worst in room dining breakfast ever. Lunch: In room dining. Cesar salad with chicken was good but so small! The chicken tenders were OK but they forgot to bring the honey mustard sauce. They automatically add 20% tip. I would say that is OK to do if everything is perfect, which it is not. Not even close. They do not deserve any tip, especially tipping themselves automatically. I will never come back here again. Not worth the money. This place is a disgrace to the name Waldorf Astoria. The rooms are so depressing. dated and dirty. Change the carpets, curtains and wallpaper. Maybe some artwork and some flowers in the room. No food service at the pool. Natalie the server for my room is excellent. She deserves a raise.
We loved this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and it is in a great location. Very close to Bourbon and Canal, but far enough that there is no noise or trash outside the hotel. The soap/lotion smelled amazing. Check in/check out was quick and everyone was very friendly. The lobby was beautiful and required a room key to enter which I appreciated when returning after dark. Overall, very pleasant stay and would return.
So I had a wedding this past weekend 2/28 to be exact, I was in the groom. We had our rooms for 2/27-2/28… This place and its staff set my entire wedding experience up to be beautiful! The champagne in the room, the strawberries, the extra towels, I can go on and on….. Marsha, Ernie, Randy, and the entire valet team I can’t think you guys enough for how you treated our groomsmen and bridesmaids the entire weekend… This place is beautiful in itself but the people make the experience 100x better… The Wilson Wedding had a top tier experience. We love The Roosevelt Team??
I had the pleasure of staying at the Roosevelt this past weekend with my bridal party. The entire experience was a 10/10. From the valet and bellmen, to the front desk staff and housekeeping- EVERYONE was warm, welcoming and extremely professional. Not to mention, they all provided me with kind and encouraging words on the day of my wedding. The location was perfect, the rooms were spotless and the service was impeccable! Sending a special shout out to Marsha, she is the BEST and a huge reason why we can’t wait to visit again!! Thank you so much!!!
Can’t believe it’s a five star hotel. Not very clean carpet, not very clean sofa, not very clean chair, and not very clean window…. The shower water is also just okay. Maybe the building is historical, but the interior of the room doesn’t need to be that old as well. I have stayed in other Waldorf hotels and they are way much better. I won’t say it’s bad- but just not worth the money as a 5 star hotel. (The towel and bed sheet are clean and are fine & comfy). I would rate it slighter better than a typical holiday inn express level.
The Roosevelt is a classic, grand hotel that leans heavily into old?world elegance and New Orleans history. The lobby and common areas are impressive, with a polished, almost cinematic feel, and its location near Canal Street makes it convenient for the French Quarter and business district. Service is generally professional and attentive, though it can feel a bit formal rather than warm at times. Rooms are comfortable, but feel dated compared to newer luxury properties, and pricing is high for what you get. Overall, it’s not a bad choice if you value tradition, atmosphere, and a sense of occasion over modern minimalism or cutting?edge luxury.
This a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, and beautiful interior. Well worth the price. The staff that we interacted with was amazing, attentive, and very knowledgeable on places to eat, and things to do. Wendy was an absolute pleasure meeting, and gave a lot of recommendations. If she wasn't sure about something she was very quick to find out an answer. The manager Madison was also so great, and took very good care of us. We will definitely be back. 10/10 must stay.
Exceptional in every way. Before arriving, this property set the expectation of high-end hospitality from the concierge welcome note and they delivered above & beyond expectations. I will absolutely return and highly recommend WA NOLA: location, luxe amenities, service. food-quality and after-hours accessibility, top tier hospitality, attention to detail in every way, cleanliness and not to mention the property is absolutely beautiful. My regret, not having the time to stay longer and experience the Spa. Thank you for an outstanding stay wrapped in luxury and personalized attention to detail and service.
If you plan to use their pool, BEWARE. It was a dangerously 104 degrees during out stay. I've emailed the GM, Sebastian, THREE TIMES,with no response, so I'm going to leave my email here in hopes he'll respond now: Dear Sebastian, I’m writing to share a concern from our recent stay at The Roosevelt over the New Year’s Eve holiday weekend. My husband, kids, and I booked one night at your hotel specifically so our children could enjoy the pool, as it was forecasted to be a beautiful day and the Roosevelt pool came highly recommended. We were staying with a friend in New Orleans and chose the hotel for our last day solely for this reason. When we arrived Friday, we went directly to the pool and immediately noticed it was extremely hot. Our children could barely even place their feet in the water. We contacted staff, and when the temperature was checked, we were told the pool was 104°F. This temperature is not only uncomfortable but potentially dangerous, especially for children. I was very surprised that a five-star hotel would allow the pool to reach that level. Because of this, our children ended up sitting poolside with their toes in the water for several hours while we waited for it to cool. It didn’t begin to reach a tolerable temperature until around 5:00 PM, just as we were preparing to leave for dinner. Unfortunately, we had to check out at 5:00 AM the next morning for an early flight, so we never had the opportunity to truly use the pool, which was the entire reason we booked the hotel rather than staying at our friend’s home, $600 down the drain and an entire day wasted, I’m also curious whether pool temperatures are checked daily in the morning, as this seems like an issue that could have been prevented. We were pretty disappointed by this experience. I wanted to bring it to your attention and would appreciate hearing how this situation is handled and if there is any consideration you can offer. Thank you for your time, Erica
