La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Orleans Downtown receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, staffing issues, and outdated facilities. While some guests appreciate the location and value, reports of dirty rooms, unresponsive staff, and malfunctioning equipment are prevalent, particularly when compared to more recent positive feedback.
This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The carpet is covered in a gross sticky red substance. You must wear shoes at all times in the room or your socks stick to the floor. The lamp is broken between the beds. There is no remote for our tv. Stained sheets, curtains and carpet upon entering our room is a nasty way to run a hotel. I don’t even think the room was vacuumed between the last guests and us. Do not stay here!
They will charge you $50 plus tax for valet parking and you have to pay no matter what. Because there is none parking space available anywhere. And the valet will have you to wait the longest until they feel like giving you the car. More like longer than half an hour and the hotel is not even with any capacity at all. On top of that, valet guy smoked inside your car without your consent/knowing until you can smell it. Left the cigarette on the floor BURNING the carpet floor and still standing around asking for tips. The facility has broken ice machines and trash left on the hallway overnight and still be staying still. You won’t see janitor working around for any additional amenities. Came into the room with smelly fridge and broken hair dryer. Typical, New Orleans is what really people expect to experience. La Quinta is having this facility represents their business.
For a literal spur of the moment trip and last minute booking after searching for so many hotels in an unfamiliar city, I was able to get a 2 night stay in such a perfect location. We were able to walk all around down town come back to the room and go back out with ease because of the proximity to everything we wanted to explore. The room was great, clean, and price was reasonable especially for our last minute trip. Had to call prior to check in due to an unforeseen delay on our arrival and the Staff was friendly, immediately put me at ease that I wouldn’t lose reservation as we would arrive well before the time that would happen. All other staff encounters were great and just as friendly, breakfast was great and well stocked up even less than 30 min before ending. Parking is paid but in a covered garage if you choose to utilize, but seeing that we didn’t need our vehicle worked perfect. Building security also a big plus, After hours check requires being buzzed in and to access stairs or elevator requires use of room key. Overall fantastic experience and as a Wyndham Rewards member for over 7 years, the best hotel that I have stayed at thus far.
This hotel was really nice for our three night stay in New Orleans. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was just fine, the tv had issues, but this was vacation away from the norm so we didn't really care or make it an issue. The breakfast each day was really good, a lot of options and good. The location is two blocks from Canal Street and about a 10-15 minute walk to most of the pooular attractions. Really an easy walk. IF walking is a big issue for you, look for a hotel more central to the French Quarter. Parking is always a pain anywhere you go in New Orleans, so prepare for that!! It will cost you $30-50 each day of your stay if you drive there. I would definitely recommend the Laquinta based on price for what you get!
Great location and fun atmosphere in the bar area, and friends staff but that's all the positieve things we can day about our stay. The room, and mainly bathroom, felt unclean: stains on the walls and carpet, heavily damages furniture, damages heater, loose tab in the bathtub,... Breakfast was quite sad and very limited. Overall, not worth the price we paid.
Specifically asked to put my room in a different card at check in and they did not. We were not able to check in until almost 4pm. We were told no rooms were ready. The desk help just did what was easiest for her and prepared all papers for those on the list waiting to check in. I understand being efficient, but to not listen to your customer and charge the incorrect card was very unprofessional. Rooms were nice. But the entire not being to check in by 3 and charging the wrong card put a bad taste in my mouth. I also feel like we should be able to park in hotel parking free for the night we were there. Parking cost additional $50 could have booked cheaper somewhere different with all of the unexpected extra issues. ?
Location Location Location. Close enough to Bourbon St to stumble back from an evening of debauchery but far enough to not hear all the noise. Had a guest laundry that was a fabulous treat, except you need to bring detergent because they don’t have it for sale ??. The air conditioning in our room did not get cold, room stayed at 71 which was fine but in the summer that would suck ??. Bar in the lobby is a great addition but I did not partake. All in all, I’m happy with my stay and would probably go again.
Rooms are fine. Location is fantastic. But service, oh service... RUDE, incredibly rude. This is a hotel! Most of the experience should be the service quality and it's horrible, if you want to feel belittled and ostercized please go to the front desk, you will not get disappointed. I don't don't what's wrong with the lady at the front desk, but you can't be this angry and someone just for stepping in the door. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, save your dignity and a headache. UPDATE: It gets better, they won't clean your room unless you explicitly ask for it. What a joke. I've seen how they mistreat customers left and right. I'm at the lobby right now and it just so rude and sad. Oh, I attached a photo at the seat at the lobby with a huge hole.
It's a great hotel to be, when you want to feel the pulse of NOLA at nights. It's hardly 8 mins from the Burboan street. The hotel is nice, stylish and of a great value. The staff and services are really nice. It has plenty of amenities and a free breakfast. It has a gym, laundry and a bar. There is a food delivery service, and the menu looks great (even though I didn't use it) Right in the middle of town, parking is a headache. There is a public parking nearby that charges 35$ for overnight parking. The hotel provides a valet service for 50$. There is a daily processing fee of 17$, that includes a welcome drink, 10% for NOLA tickets booked via hotel and amenity usage. The hotel is secure as it needs a key card swipe to enter. Satisfied with the stay and would surely consider if I'm returning to NOLA again.
This place was a vibe. Love that there is a bar downstairs, they give you free drink tickets and the bartender is cool. This place is secured you need your room key to enter the hotel and to use the elevator. Our room was clean, love the fact that there was no carpet. There is valet parking but you’re going to pay upwards of 50+ a day. This hotel is Very close to everything festive. Don’t bring your pet though. We were lucky they made an exception for us, very grateful for that. 10/10 highly recommend.
