Very nice hotel and incredibly convenient location close to all tourist sites in New Orleans. The rooms are clean, spacious and very pretty. Beds were comfortable. The only issue we had is chrome casting from our TV - we had a technician arrive very quickly which we were impressed with! It seems as though you needed to join a service specific WiFi rather than the regular WiFi for hotel members which we needed to get from the technician. I hope they can fix that in the future ! The stand out about this location were the staff however! Alexandria was our receptionist and so kind/informative about questions regarding our stay, I can’t tell you how much I appreciated her. Our servers in the peacock room and kings room were lovely and easy to chat with. We got great recommendations for what to do around town from everyone here. I would absolutely stay at this location again.

Exceptional Elite Stay with Fantastic Dining & Perks We recently wrapped up a 4-night stay at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot as IHG Diamond Elite members, and it was a fantastic home base for enjoying the end of crawfish season and attending the ADA convention. The location is absolutely perfect being incredibly convenient to both the Caesar casino and the French Quarter. As Diamond members, the included daily breakfast was an extremely useful perk that saved us a ton of time and money. We spent our first two mornings at King, but moved over to the Peacock Room for the final two days. The Peacock Room was significantly more refined, and the service there was much more accommodating and attentive than what we experienced at King. Beyond breakfast, the cocktails at the Peacock Room were excellent, and you absolutely cannot miss the bread pudding! Another great perk was the evening social hour. They served wine and egg rolls each day, which was a unique, high-quality touch that really added to the overall experience. Pro-tip for future guests: Definitely use the Kimpton social password at check-in! We got to spin the wheel for bonus points, room upgrades, and free drinks. The Room & Amenities: The room itself was very comfortable, clean, and spacious, though the design felt just a little sterile. However, the staff went above and beyond to make it feel like home—Rae at the front desk was absolutely great and so accommodating, ensuring a microwave and a coffee maker were brought up to our room as soon as we requested them. The hotel elevators were incredibly quick throughout the stay. The fitness center is a bit on the cramped side, but the equipment is high quality and the treadmills were quite good for getting a solid workout in. Overall, between the stellar elite recognition, top-tier cocktail program, and prime location, we had an amazing stay. We would definitely choose the Fontenot again next time we are in New Orleans!

We recently stayed here for a long weekend as part of a group trip and loved it. The property itself is well designed and spacious. Our room was comfortable and very quiet (couldn't hear anyone next door, above, or outside). It was clean too. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, both of which had delicious food and wine. We had a couple drinks in the bar/lounge space as well which we really enjoyed. The staff really made the trip though. They were so friendly and welcoming, very helpful with anything we needed, and were overall very pleasant to talk to. Location-wise, it's close enough to walk to the quarter and there are a bunch of solid restaurants around it. We would definitely recommend this property!

We attended a wedding in the CBD, and the entire wedding party stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot afterward. The hotel is beautiful and does a great job reflecting the city’s character and history. Conveniently located between the French Quarter and Uptown, it’s an excellent option for out-of-town guests looking for easy access to everything the city has to offer. From the moment we arrived, the valet and front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated being able to check in to our room early. Although we didn’t dine at the hotel during our one-night stay, we did stop by the Peacock Room bar. The bartenders were quick, personable, and made excellent cocktails. Overall, we had a great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

A nice higher-end hotel within easy walking distance of two streetcar stops, the waterfront, lots of restaurants and Caesars casino. Just outside of all the action but very easy to get to the action! Walk to Bourbon Street in 10-15 min. Breakfast at the hotel each day was fabulous. Dinner was just okay. Rooms are on the smaller side and showers could’ve been hotter. We could never get the air conditioning in our room to work correctly - either it was constantly blowing on us in bed and cold or hardly blowing at all and hot. But on the upside the beds and pillows were luxurious, service was great and everything was super clean. Overall I was comfortable staying at the hotel and was happy with the location. Look elsewhere if you want to be in the middle of the action. Stay here if you desire a clean, safe, quieter stay. Definitely be prepared to walk and take advantage of the streetcars.

We had a very nice weekend staying at the Hotel Fontenot. The hotel is centrally located several blocks away from Bourbon Street, the casino, the river, and a few other places. Rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone working there was very friendly. The coffee shop and restaurant on the first floor were also very convenient. Worth considering if you are visiting New Orleans and need a place to stay.

While the hotel is not directly in the French Quarter, it’s an easy and pleasant walk to all the action. You get the convenience of being close without the constant noise and crowds right outside your door. If you’re flying into MSY, I highly recommend skipping the Uber. There’s a 202 bus that runs from the airport and drops you off just across the street from the hotel. It only costs $1.25. Just make sure you have exact change, or you can pay easily through the RTA Le Pass App. It’s affordable, convenient, and takes the stress out of airport transportation. The hotel itself is beautiful. The design is stylish yet welcoming, and there’s an on site restaurant with a bar that makes it easy to grab a drink or a bite without leaving the property. The rooms are spacious, well kept, and have plenty of lighting throughout. The front desk staff is super attentive and helpful, making check-in and any requests smooth and easy. The only small downside was that my TV didn’t work too well and had some glitching issues. However, I was out exploring most of the time, so it didn’t impact my stay much. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want comfort, beauty, and easy walking access to the French Quarter without being directly in the middle of it. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights during Mardi Gras. The hotel was probably at full capacity so I gave them some grace, BUT if they are going to charge event pricing, they should have the supplies and staff ready to handle the crowd. This was my first stay at a Kimpton and it felt anything but luxury. Pros: -We got checked in early and upgraded by friendly front desk agent Semaj. -The staff from the restaurant were friendly and efficient -No pet fee Cons: -I called down 4 times on my first night requesting sheets for the sofa bed and a hot water kettle. Every time I called, they said someone was going to bring it up. Never received the items. On day 2 I called twice and texted the hotel concierge and was told they will take care of my requested items…still nothing. After a day in the city, I got back to the hotel and pretty tired at this point. I was tired of waiting for the sheets and hot water kettle so I went to the front desk and asked for the items and told them I will wait at the front desk for them because I called multiple times and still nothing. After waiting for 15 minutes in the lobby for some simple sheets and a kettle, I got fed up and asked to speak to a manager. Adriana was next in line to assist me. She ran to the back to look for a kettle but came back empty handed. She said they were out….so instead of telling me on day one they didn’t have the kettle, they just kept on lying to me until I was forced to go downstairs to confront them in person! Is this normal for a 4 star hotel? Sincerely asking because this is my first stay at one. Adriana apologized and told me how busy they are for Mardi Gras. Funny thing is, there’s a card in the hotel room that says if you forget to bring an item, “We’ll go grab it for you.” Nope, no one went out of their way to get me a hot water kettle. Adriana did offer to get me hot water from the cafe. She also offered me 10,000 IHG points for the inconvenience. The room was just meh. A bit on the dated and sad side. It’s not well taken care of. There are visible damage on the carpet and walls which made the stay feel anything but luxurious. My stay at this Kimpton was really disappointing and will probably not book at any other Kimpton hotels. Moving forward I will give my business to the trusty Holiday Inn - at least you know what you’re getting with them.

The Perfect Mardi Gras Basecamp Location truly is everything! This hotel was exceptional across the board. Positioned right in the heart of the action, we were within walking distance of Bourbon and Frenchmen Streets. Since we visited during Mardi Gras, we had a front-row seat to the major parades right outside the door. Remarkably, the rooms are so well soundproofed that we didn’t hear a thing from the street. The dining options are fantastic: The Peacock Room serves incredible food and cocktails, while The King is perfect for a delicious breakfast or dinner. Don't miss Gospel Coffee and Boozy Treats—the pastries are to die for. The service is top-notch; the front desk is diligent and helpful, especially Alex C, who handled all our requests with ease. Housekeeping also went above and beyond. I recommend this hotel 100% for your next NOLA trip!

We had a wonderful two night stay here. We arrived and Semaj checked us in. He was helpful and very welcoming. Jacob parked our car and assisted with our luggage. He was very attentive and welcoming. Our room was great. Large and clean with a great view. It was also quiet.
