The Hyatt Centric French Quarter consistently receives positive reviews for its excellent location in the heart of the French Quarter, friendly and helpful staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. While some minor issues like slow elevators and occasional noise have been noted, overall guests describe a memorable and enjoyable stay.
I had an amazing stay at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter in New Orleans over New Year's! The location was perfect, right in the heart of the French Quarter, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My king suite garden view room was fantastic, with spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. The cleanliness of the room was spot on, and I loved the high ceilings and beautiful styling. Plus, the breakfast at the hotel was delicious! I also appreciated the helpful staff who was friendly and professional. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the Hyatt Centric French Quarter for a fun and convenient stay in New Orleans.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect. Everything was within easy walking distance yet was in a very quiet area. As a flight attendant I spend a significant amount of time away from home and in hotels. This hotel was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Our room and bathroom were immaculate. Every staff member we can in contact with were friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning.
We stayed 4 nights in January and had a great experience. We had a king room with no outside view and a double room that had a view of the pool. Both rooms were very nice and spacious especially the double room! Check in was smooth and when it came to needing to swap one of our rooms Hutstun at the front desk was great and got us switched. He also assisted us throughout our whole stay with other things. He was very friendly and helpful as was everyone else we interacted with at the front desk. Rooms had everything we needed and if it didn’t the front desk had it sent up for us. Really great location in terms of being close to so much and neither room had a problem with noise. We did have someone come knock on our door multiple times between midnight and 1am on our first night but they got security up there quickly to handle it. They included streetcar passes with our stay which was great and had it decorated for Mardi Gras which was a fun touch. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend to others!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt centric French quarter. The staff is phenomenal. The rooms are very old, but clean and look decent, and are gigantic. Right on Borbon Street as soon as you step out the front door. Will definitely be back here again!!!! Great gym as well with all the basics. This is not a luxury hotel but it's good.
I had an early check in and stayed here for two nights on the fourth floor with a king suite. We had tickets to the Sugar Bowl our first night. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk to the Caesars Superdome. Additionally, the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to Bourbon Street and about 10-15 minutes to the Riverwalk. The hotels location is right in the middle of everything. Ellie checked me in. Ellie was very professional and explained all details thoroughly. She was a rockstar and a great representative of the hotel. She also checked us out our last day. Super fast and made sure our bill was correct and explained. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.
This is a good location to be in the French Quarter, it’s on Bourbon Street and close to the trolley out to the garden district. Frenchmen Street, the cemetery, and the markets are easily walkable. We had a King room facing a side street which was large and comfortable. That said the room was not well appointed, you even had to pay $3 for the “complimentary” bottle of water. The bathroom was not clean and did not offer travel necessities. The elevators were very slow when they did work. The only breakfast available is extremely expensive. The lobby atmosphere is dead, not just quiet, but kinda creepy at night like an airport holiday inn. We weren’t greeted at the door at any time and the staff didn’t talk to you unless you talked to them. We spent little time in the hotel and the location was perfect for what we wanted to do on our trip. It was just not a 4 star experience.
Worst experience of our life! We stayed here keeping the location in mind but the service of hotel is worst than of a motel! We asked for ONE extra blanket which was supposed to be in the closet to begin with they didn't have during our 2 days stay we had to BEG for that one blanket which we got at the end of our 2nd night. Staff was rude when we had to ask for multiple times. There are Better hotels in the location. Don't waste your money.
?????????? Our stay at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter in a balcony room was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The location truly can’t be beat, right in the heart of the French Quarter, with easy access to incredible food, music, and all the energy New Orleans has to offer, yet still felt comfortable and relaxing. What really set this hotel apart was the stellar customer service. From the moment we arrived, the valet made us feel welcomed and taken care of, and that level of warmth and professionalism continued with every single staff member we encountered throughout our stay. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience exceptional. The balcony room was a perfect touch, allowing us to soak in the atmosphere while still enjoying a comfortable, well-appointed space to unwind. And a special shout-out to the lobby bar—the bartender makes an amazing lemon drop martini that quickly became a highlight of our evenings. It was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the city. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch French Quarter experience!
I would recommend avoiding this hotel if possible. First of all, the location is indeed excellent — it’s right in the French Quarter and you can walk to many places easily. But if you plan to drive in and out, this place will be a complete nightmare. Second, the hotel is extremely old. You can smell a musty, damp odor in the hallways and in the rooms. While the cleanliness is passable, the age of the building and the lack of proper maintenance mean that the musty smell is always there, and you can’t escape it. Third, only one elevator was working, so every trip up or down took at least five minutes. Fourth — and this was the most unpleasant part of our entire trip — our neighbor blasted extremely loud music until 4 a.m. The hotel refused to do anything to help, and they did not ask the guest to turn the volume down. We essentially didn’t sleep at all that night. So although the location is great, I personally don’t think this hotel is worth the $300 at all.
We really enjoyed our stay here at this location.Upon arrival Thaddeus welcomed us like family and made sure our needs was met. He went over everything we need to know as we met him on the elevator. This is what you call above and beyond!! The room was clean and spacious and very convenient to everything. Jonika was amazing as well. She answered any questions we had and stayed calm with the high volume of check ins and check outs.
