Hotel Le Marais is a centrally located boutique hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans, known for its convenient access to Bourbon Street and a charming atmosphere. While praised for its location, friendly staff, and comfortable beds, recent reviews highlight concerns about noise levels, cleanliness issues, and limited amenities. Despite consistently positive feedback for staff and location, some aspects of the property require attention.
This is a beautiful boutique hotel that is in the heart of the French Quarter and steps from Bourbon Street. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The staff is very friendly and professional. During the height of carnival their attitudes were always welcoming and delightful. The hotel is clean with modern beauty. The only downside is the garbage man woke me up at 3am daily. I do think if I hadn’t had a balcony room it would not have been an issue so just keep that in mind. I did bring my swimsuit but unfortunately the pool was too chilly for me. I definitely will be going back to this hotel and next time bringing a large group of friends.
First impressions are huge for me. The manager Pierre’s energy and welcoming personality honestly set the tone. Highly informative of places to visit and things to do. Engaging with everyone with the same energy and passion. I can honestly say that when he was off for the two days, it really wasn’t the same. I appreciate a person who understands what it takes in the hospitality industry to make guests feel comfortable and right at home. The staff can really take a few notes from Pierre.
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. The housekeeping crew is always on top of things. We have a room with a little mini balcony. We love it. The price is reasonable. And it's it's a very central location. Will definitely come back.
Great location, 20 seconds away from Bourbon street. However, we were given a room with no openable windows. It was hard to sleep and breathe in there with very limited air flow. The steam from my first shower never left the room during our 3 night stay. Otherwise a good hotel with friendly staff.
We stayed at the Hotel Le Marais the weekend before Fat Tuesday in 2025 and could not have had a better experience. Anytime we entered the lobby we were greeted by one of their excellent staff. If we asked for a recommendation they were quick to offer suggestions. We would mostly stay here again!
My husband and I stayed December 19th - 23rd. The hospitality was by far the best we've ever experienced. Hotel Le Marais made our first trip to New Orleans a special one. The front desk staff, location and housekeeping were amazing. We cannot wait to come back and stay.
Hotel is fine. It was clean and folks were friendly. It didn’t seem to live up to the price in my opinion. Random small things took away from it. We stayed on the first floor. To get there you walk up a few stairs then scan to get through a door. The door opens normally for about half the swing then you get an awkward amount of resistance from the hydraulic after that. The shower head was hand tight and started unscrewing itself when I adjusted it. And water sprayed out through the treads. No big deal, I just tightened it and it stopped spraying. The toilet paper kept falling out when one of us would use it. The two ends were wobbly and were attached to a piece of 2x4 spray painted black on one side to blend in to the sink. And the 2x4 was screwed into the bottom of the sink. There was a big brown stain on the box spring that I saw when doing a check for bed bugs. Our friends had a similar stain on the wall in their room. We didn’t turn on the TV, but our friends did and said it was “pixely and looked like antennae TV.” They are little things that aren’t a big deal, but it was kind of a letdown. The biggest issue in my opinion was the noise. You are so close to Bourbon street you can clearly hear music. We brought earplugs and you could hear it a little through the ear plugs still. We could also hear people in the next room over and the room above. The proximity to Bourbon street is nice if that’s what you’re looking for. I just want people to have a realistic expectation of the place. The hotel itself is simply good enough. Nothing special.
Location is right in the thick of the French Quarter! While it could get loud, our room was quiet enough to easily sleep yet still feel like we were in a vivacious city. The room was wonderful and the staff even better. Highly recommend if you're interested in a location that can't be beat.
Lovely hotel with small cozy pool and courtyard. Super comfy beds. Literally at the foot of Bourbon Street so a bit of music noise at night but worth it for the great location. The staff was fine but not outstanding. I would stay here again.
Hotel Le Marais, New Orleans - A Charming Boutique Stay in the Heart of the French Quarter I recently stayed at Hotel Le Marais in New Orleans, and overall, it was a delightful experience for a short getaway in the vibrant French Quarter. The hotel’s location is a standout feature—perfectly situated just steps from the lively energy of Bourbon Street, yet tucked away enough to avoid the noise and bustle, offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. This boutique hotel exudes charm, with character-filled rooms that capture the essence of New Orleans’ historic vibe. The decor is quirky and stylish, adding a unique touch to the stay. Each room felt cozy and well-maintained, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. One downside is the pool, which is small and nestled deep within the hotel’s courtyard, meaning it gets limited direct sunlight. If you’re dreaming of lounging by the pool to soak up the Louisiana heat, this might not be the ideal spot for you. However, it’s still a nice feature for a quick dip to cool off. Another minor inconvenience was the lack of in-room fridges. You’ll need to request one from the front desk, which could be a hassle if you’re planning to store snacks or drinks. The staff, though, were accommodating and quick to assist with this. All in all, Hotel Le Marais offers a lovely stay for those seeking a boutique experience in the heart of the French Quarter. Its prime location, charming rooms, and intimate vibe make it a great choice for travelers who value character over sprawling amenities. I’d recommend it for a weekend escape, especially if you’re exploring the city’s nightlife and culture. Just don’t expect a sun-drenched pool day!
