Situated in a prime location of the French Quarter close to Bourbon Street but shielded from excessive noise, the Hotel Mazarin offers charming architecture and a peaceful courtyard retreat. However, the property suffers from inconsistent housekeeping, noticeable mold and odors, and some unhelpful staff interactions.

The location was great. The room was okay. It smells old almost like mold. Bed was awful. The courtyard looks nothing like the pictures on the web. It looks run down. BE CAREFUL booking here because after you leave they keep charging your credit card and when you call about it they call you a liar and tell you they can only see part of your account and that they only charged me for parking. My bank account shows 3 separate charges. And the person you need to speak to is away from her desk.

Terrific location in the heart of the French Quarter -- located on Bienville between Royal and Bourbon. Our room was a balcony that allowed plenty of people watching but also because it wasn't on one of the more touristy streets it was still relaxing. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was very nicely modeled and modern. I disliked the open shower design that always sprayed water on the slick tile floors requiring towels on the floor to soak the mess. Housekeeping was always quick to clean rooms in the morning while at breakfast. Management was always very helpful. My only complaints were: 1) the room has a musty smell when we first checked in. We notified the desk and they promptly attempted to address it. They improved things but there was always a very slight smell even though the room was observedly clean. 2) the tv was terrible for trying to watch when we were in for the night. Navigating it to watch anything was much too hard to be enjoyable -- it needs modernization and system improvement. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at the Maazarin and would stay here again.

We had two petite kings and one double queen rented for my group. Service was excellent. Location is super convenient, just a block away from Bourbon Street but you couldn't tell we were that close. Short distances to all the well known restaurants and bars. Rooms were run down and not as clean as we would have liked. Didn't quite feel like a boutique hotel.

Overall, great place to stay. This was our 3rd stay. I would have given 5 stars Overall but I did not because of conflict in what was reported online about balcony rooms & what I was told when we arrived. I selected the superior king room & noted from website that the view could be either balcony OR courtyard view. In comment section, I asked for balcony view. After checking in & getting to the room, I found we had courtyard view. After asking the personnel at front desk if there were any balcony view rooms available, he said there was 1 but it would be an additional $50 per night & I respectfully declined because at this point, we just wanted to go out & start enjoying our evening. Afterwards, I went back to make sure that what I thought the information said about room was correct from my view point, it made me a little upset because I felt deceived. I could have chosen a cheaper room when I reserved but intentionally chose the higher rate for a chance on getting the view I wanted. Do better by your patrons, Hotel Mazarin staff!

Small town guy here, so when I called because I got lost after passing the hotel up ? the front desk guy (William I believe) stayed on the phone with me giving me directions until I got to the parking garage! He definitely went above and beyond for us. We stayed one night and thought the place was beautiful, there is a beautiful water fountain in the main courtyard, the rooms was a little smaller than I expected but wasn’t a problem for us at all! Comfy bed and a nice shower! The layout of the building is very unique and charming. Location was hittin! Walking distance to everything. There is also a couple bars on property we were told about by Will but unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to check them out. We hope to return again before too long so maybe we’ll have more time then. Overall it was a great stay and we will definitely return.

The hotel was in a convenient place for everything in the French Quarter, which was fantastic. We were able to leave our car parked and walk everywhere. The location was one block from Bourbon Street which made it quieter but expect some noise during the night. The room was quaint and equipped for just spending the night. The air register on the ceiling leaked the entire time and left a puddle of water on the tile floor which was a fall hazard. The shower did not drain efficiently and filled with water very quickly. And the sheets had stains. Hence the three stars. The staff was nice and helpful upon check-in. Location: Great Staff at Check-in: Great Room: Not so great.

Great place to stay! Centrally located and we walked to everything. We loved sneaking into the 21st Amendment, you'll see! We stopped by Patrick's on our last night and it was wonderful! The petit kings on the second floor are quiet which is where we stayed. I do recommend a room 222 and higher.

Very pleasantly surprised, most buildings near Bourbon St are, of course old, this hotel updated beautifully! Beds comfortable, clean & spacious! Staff accommodating! Great location, parking available. Only downside was no restaurant or coffee available but very close by. Very pleased with our choice.

Excellent Staff. Good location reasonably off Bourbon street noise. Restaurant breakfast is quite limiting. No free lobby coffee. Bar is nice looking, but just OK drinks. Rooms are perfectly fine, could use minor updating in some areas, But are super comfortable. If you want to stay in the Quarter and don't want the crazy noise from Bourbon street at night > this is a great choice. Again, you'll love the staff.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Mazarin. The staff were extra helpful and very attentive. We arrived early by train and planned on leaving luggage until check-in, but the desk clerk called us within an hour and allowed us to check-in several hours early. She was so helpful and showed great customer service.
