The Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans offers a convenient location in the heart of the city, close to popular attractions and dining options. While generally positive reviews highlight spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a decent breakfast, significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance issues, and inconsistent service have been raised by recent guests.

Staff was very accommodating with an early check in and late checkout, and can even store luggage. Breakfast was included and decent for hotel quality. Appreciated the all day coffee, tea, cocoa! Rooms were spacious! Not too far from Bourbon street but in a more city area with less foot traffic. Great area if you plan on visiting the Aquarium or WW2 museum

This was absolutely not a good experience. We paid around $600 for one night, which is far too much for what we received. When we entered room 706, we were immediately hit by a very strong and unpleasant smell. It was so intense that it seemed like someone had been cooking meat all day with the windows closed. We tried everything to get rid of it, opening the windows and even spraying my good perfume throughout the room, but nothing helped. The smell was simply too strong and had clearly been there for quite some time. About an hour after arrival, we reported the issue. A cleaning staff member came to the room, but unfortunately, as expected, this did not solve the problem. The odor remained just as strong. The next morning at check-out, we made an official complaint because the situation had been truly unpleasant. The response we received was brief and unprofessional. We were told: “Okay, I will register it. You paid through Booking.com, so everything is fine now.” Since then, we have not heard anything further from the hotel. We both felt uncomfortable in the room, and I was even concerned that the smell would cling to our clothes due to its intensity. For the amount we paid, this experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many better options in the neighborhood. The rooms are clearly in need of maintenance and renovation. Several things felt worn and outdated. Even the toilet seat had broken spots, which is simply unacceptable at this price point. It is hard to understand how this hotel can be part of the Hilton brand. Update: Please take a look at the one-star reviews from previous customers. The outdated and rusted materials were already mentioned seven years ago. Although the responses claim that this is disappointing and not in line with their service standards, nothing has changed since. Unbelievable.

The rooms are clean, if somewhat old. We had a rusty tub. ? It was nice that we had a full size fridge since we are foodies and there are a million restaurants around here. The parking is valet and to get your car you might have to wait a while, thankfully you can text down since it takes like 15-20 minutes. Everyone was friendly though.

Stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans (901 Poydras St) for a short business trip and was disappointed overall—especially as a long-time Hilton loyalist who expects more consistency from the brand. Arrival was awkward: valet staff didn’t approach or offer help; I had to go find them and hand over my keys myself. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient during check-in, which was a plus. The room (1012) felt off from the start—slightly dirty with dust in places, and multiple holes/patches in the walls that looked like unfinished remodeling work. It just didn’t have the clean, comfortable, home-like feel I’m used to from other Homewood Suites properties. Disappointing for the price point. Checkout was at 11 AM, and I had a noon meeting, so I asked the desk clerk if I could leave my car with valet and my luggage behind the counter briefly while I was gone. She said no problem and handled it graciously—appreciated that flexibility. I returned around 1:09 PM (just over 2 hours later) to pick up my vehicle. The front desk assisted, but then an employee named Tonya approached and charged both me and my coworker a $25 late valet fee each—despite the prior agreement and the fact we were there less than 24 hours total (and already paying a high daily valet rate of $50+). This felt petty and unwelcoming, especially after they accommodated us without any mention of time limits or extra charges. To top it off, when the valet finally brought the car around, he was drinking coffee inside it—some had spilled on the floor mat, requiring me to quickly clean it up before driving off. That was the final straw and completely unprofessional. Between the nickel-and-diming on the late fee from Tonya, the subpar room condition, poor arrival service, and the coffee spill, this stay was frustrating enough that I plan to tell my company to stop booking here for future New Orleans trips. We’ll find a more guest-focused hotel instead. I’ve had great experiences at other Hilton properties, but this one fell way short—won’t be back or recommending it for business travel.

Super nice hotel. Loved that they had coffee, cocoa and water available. The only issue is that the coffee was not hot, other than that they provide flavor creamers and sugar/sugar substitute.

My family stayed at this hotel for 2 months while repairs were being done to our home. It was a great stay and you can’t beat the location. The staff were excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Would recommend staying here.

Some good and some not so good here. The staff is amazing! Everyone is really nice. The room is older, it needs some repair work. The dishes were put away VERY, VERY dirty, the room didn't have dishwasher detergent, so I had to go ask for it, and the cleaning crew didn't come until later in the day, by that time we were back, and tired, so we just grabbed towels and a garbage bag. Already ran out of the body wash, so it wasn't filled before we came. The breakfast is pretty good for hotel breakfast, with more than a couple of choices. I wouldn't say don't stay here, but I would say be proactive in what you need and when, so your room has the supplies it needs. If I was to stay here again, I'd check everything as soon as we got here and ask for what we need right away. The location is perfect to get to everything you want to see. It's located on the corner, so most drivers can find it easy, valet was really nice and the hotel takes pets, and are really good to them. Overall, it's a good place to stay, just check your supplies right away, so there's no surprises when you need something.

11-8-25 UPDATE: Never received a call, never even received any compensatory offers. Welp....we won't bother to come back here. Let me start by saying customer service is everything when you're traveling. Hilton normally sets themselves apart with a high level you can expect and find comfort in spending money on. Not here. And for whatever reason, Hilton charged us for the room a whole 48 hours before our check in date. Maybe that's a new policy..Moving on . When we checked in Saturday night, I was told , "I didn't think you were a resident, I thought you just walked in and had a question." Isn't that a potential resident? Anyway after I established that we had a reservation , we were cool , that is until we got in the room. It was nice enough however when my wife went to take a shower, she was greeted with a nasty, used and very dirty washcloth and towel hanging in the shower. Imagine that greeting you face to face in the shower!! So we reported that to the front desk and the first solution we were offered was to send the towel manager a note and have housekeeping remove the dirty washcloths and towels. "Not the issue ," I said. "The issue is the room is supposed to be clean before a resident checks in, not after discovery." Then the manager offered to take half off of our room and some other fees which at the time seemed fair enough. After checking out and making it back home, we decided to check up on the status of our compensation, the manager said she was working on the list of people with complaints and we were in that list. Great. So I called back the next day to get a confirmation of the reduced amount and be sent a Guest folio. The same manager answered the phone and sent me the folio. Well only $50 dollars total was taken off of our stay. We trusted the manager on her word and she /Hilton did not come through on her own words. Majorly dissatisfied and disappointed. So we are now looking for another hotel chain to accommodate us on our getaways. It was great while it lasted Hilton. I don't like throwing away my Hilton Honors membership but our trust has been shaken.
