This Hilton Garden Inn offers a prime location in the historic French Quarter but receives mixed reviews regarding cleanliness, long wait times for service, and recurring electrical maintenance issues. While some guests praise the helpful and bubbly staff and amenities like valet parking and breakfast, others report significant deficiencies in housekeeping and safety concerns.
Very disappointed. For this to be the Hilton…and to be an honors member. The cleanliness of the room was horrible. Room smelled like weed. The facecloth literally started to tear apart when I put it under water! I only stayed for a day and was highly upset. Won’t be staying at this location again.
Today is my last day at this hotel. I must tell you - - what a DELIGHT this hotel is. Ive been staying at one of these very famous historic $650/night hotels and finally couldnt take the inadequacies of the hotel. I know the Hampton Garden Inn chain of hotels from back home (New York City/New Jersey) and i've always have had good experiences there. When I called to "get rescued" from this fancy awful hotel, I spoke with BRANDIE IVICEVICH who was extremely accomodating for my wife and I (as well as to my 2 friends who were at a different, but similar high priced hotel). Checking in was SMOOTH. She then showed us the laundry room, the fitness center (which is surprisingly pretty adequate in such a small hotel chain). They have little snacks and sodas for purchase. Room has many electrical outlets (for charging cellphones, laptops, earbuds, etc). Refrigerator. a nice working desk. Microwave. Cable TV (i dont know if it's actual cable, but i was ableto watch the olympics, CNN, FOX, and, NETFLIX!). Bathroom and showers all new. Lighting is great in the bathroom. Closet space. Clean as a whistle. andddd, within walking distance to the french quarter (something like a 7 minute walk). oh - - breakfast too (ok, not the fanciest breakfast, just your basic bacon, eggs, cereal, etc - - but fine). "HOP ON/HOP OFF" tourist sightseeing bus on the next corner....kinda cool/ you could certainly go to one of those jazzed up, b.s. hotels and bellyache and complain; or come here, where you have anything and everything that you really need....and save your money for these ridiculously expensive restaurants that will cost you a arm and a leg!
Good location but our AC didn’t work in our room the entire stay. They were at full capacity up until the night prior to check out so we had no options other than to use two box fans that were very noisy. No reimbursements were given, I would spend the extra $20 and go somewhere nicer
Racquel is the best I checked in today and her personality is definitely one for the books. She made me feel right at home away from home, gave me a detailed layout of the hotel and where I could find everything. Her bubbly personality is one you need in your place of business and she will keep me coming to stay with Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter. She kept telling me that my stay here was going to be the best and it’s already starting off great meeting a great person like Racquel. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Bring your kids family and friends to Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter. Racquel will take care of you.
Absolutely unacceptable and deeply disturbing experience. Items were stolen from my room by the housekeeper assigned to it, Roxana. When I reported this to management, no action was taken whatsoever. There was no investigation, no accountability, and no concern shown for the safety or property of guests. What made this situation even worse was the behavior of the housekeeping manager, who openly stated that even if staff steal from guests, the hotel is “not liable.” When I requested compensation or resolution for my missing items, the manager laughed in my face. That level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is appalling. I felt completely violated, disrespected, and dismissed. This hotel clearly does not value its guests, nor does it take theft by its employees seriously. Staying here is a risk, and I strongly urge others to reconsider booking if they care about their belongings or being treated with basic human decency. I will never return.
I'll start with the positive. The rooms smelled clean when we walked in. At first glance it even looked cleaned. The bed were comfortable. The staff was attentive and fast with request. However, when we made it back from walking all day and started too wine down, we realized it was cleaned decently. The carpet is dirty, there was a huge stain outside the door before you even get in the room. We went to take a shower and realized that the tub wasn't draining. So we had to call the front to get that taken care. Once that was done we realized there were long strings of black hair all over the shower AND there was residue around the tub. You could only see it of you pulled the curtain back and let the light hit it. I'm not a clean freak but I like clean things. It doesn't have to be "eat off the carpet " clean but at least make it where I can't see the dirty. Fool me a little bit. Now if the tub wouldn't drain when we went to take our shower then there's no way that tub was cleaned correctly because they should have noticed it wasn't draining during the cleaning process. Which makes me wonder now if they even changed the sheets. Another thing, you can't use the digital key (which I didn't know) to operate the elevator. I love the safety precaution, so I'm not complaining about that but it just sucks to have to go to the front desk to get a physical card just to access the elevator.
We recently spent 4 nights at this Garden Inn, our second time here. The location is perfect, close to the French Quarter, but out of the evening madness. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. There may have been small faults, but neither of us have OCD personalities, so we didn't notice. We did not experience any issues with the elevators or other facilities. Our limited interaction with the staff was pleasant. The valet parking was quick and polite. A minor complaint was that our room was only serviced the first day of our stay; I'm not sure what happened the other days. No big deal, as I don't clean my own bathroom daily. Overall, a great stay. We will definitely stay again when in New Orleans.
Good: The hotel is walkable to Canal, Bourbon and French Quarters and plenty of restaurants. Bad: Checkin lady was rude. Check your bill to make sure you're not being accidentally charged for parking. Check out ladies were nice tho. Ugly: Its time for some upgrades. The elevators are extremely slow. The light fixture outside our room was damaged. The bed was squeaky. The shower didn't drain properly. The water pressure was abysmal. It feels like they tried to cover a defect in the bathtub with a bath mat bc there was an obvious dip in the floor of the tub accompanied by rust around the drain and chipped paint. The AC unit sound like a transmission being dropped every time it comes on.
The king beds are not American king beds, they are much smaller, by at least 10 inches, and called "european kings" and this is not disclosed online or at any point before check-in, which is ethically wrong. I called the front desk believing I got the wrong room because it appeared to be a queen bed. This is when I was told this hotel provides smaller "european king beds" which are only a few inches bigger than queen beds. This was a significant disappointment for my vacation. King beds are a luxury I do not have at home, and I spend extra money to spring for a king bed on vacations. This was no smaller matter for me. Additionally, The reality of the room vs. the pictures online is upsetting. It looked so cute, well designed and well kept online, but in person the rooms are in rough shape. Worse than any room I've ever stayed in in Vegas, which is also a party city. Stains in carpet, water stains and damage to furniture, stains on white ceiling. Pillows are 75% air and very uncomfortable. Top cover of bed is coarse and uncomfortable. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it. The good things: proximity to the french quarter and all hot spots of town, good customer service in hotel and valet, the soaps and lotions smelled nice, and got a good price.
?????????? Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans French Quarter was nothing short of amazing! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and comfortable — perfect for winding down after a busy day in the city. The staff went above and beyond with true Southern hospitality, and the location couldn’t be better — walking distance from great food, art, and nightlife. As a business and wellness brand, Kindly Curated appreciates places that make travel feel inspiring, peaceful, and elevated. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting New Orleans! ??
