The Virgin Hotels New Orleans consistently receives positive feedback for its stylish design, attentive staff, and convenient location. Recent reviews highlight excellent service, particularly from valet and front desk teams, alongside comfortable rooms and a vibrant atmosphere. However, some guests have experienced inconsistencies in amenities and occasional service delays, though many commend the hotel’s responsiveness to address these concerns.
We recently stayed at the Virgin Hotel in New Orleans and the overall experience was good, but the way things ended left a bad taste. We booked through Amex, which comes with a few perks, one of them being late check-out. We asked about it when we checked in and were told it was fine. Then the morning of check-out, they came back and said 4 PM wasn't available anymore and the best they could do was 2 PM. Already annoying, but okay. The front desk agent at least tried to meet us in the middle and offered 3 PM. Then the manager, Cedric Williams, got involved. He was condescending, talked to us like we didn't understand how hotels work and then walked back the 3 PM his own staff had just offered us. We ended up at 2 PM anyway, except now we also felt disrespected. Honestly, the check-out time wasn't even the biggest deal. It was the attitude. There's a way to deliver bad news without making guests feel like they're being difficult for simply expecting what they were promised. A couple of other things worth mentioning: the AC in our room was all over the place and the service was hit or miss depending on who you got. Some staff were great, others not so much. We'd probably give the property another shot, but they need to do better with consistency and especially with how their management handles situations like this.
I did extensive research before booking my stay at Virgin Hotel New Orleans because I wanted to make sure I was getting a good experience and value — and overall, the staff truly made the difference. The valet team was amazing from beginning to end. We arrived extremely early and honestly didn’t expect to be accommodated, but within 5 minutes, Fine let us know our room was ready, which started our stay off on a great note. We had a small issue with the streaming service in our room, but Nicholas resolved it quickly with no hassle. Also, with the heavy rain over Memorial Day weekend, there was some flooding that affected our room. The issue was addressed promptly, and Josh went above and beyond by helping with adjustments to the room billing, which we appreciated. I especially want to recognize the valet staff — Isiah, Jermani, and Ken were GREAT… truly great, great, great! Their customer service, friendliness, and professionalism stood out and made our stay more enjoyable. While there were a few unexpected issues due to the weather, the way the staff responded made all the difference. Great customer service goes a long way, and this team worked hard to ensure we were taken care of. ??????????
The car wallet service is great. All the staff was so quick and very courteous and my vehicle was parked in a covered garage. It is a charge of $55/per day. The room I had was excellent, very French decor. HOWEVER, the one window faced a brick wall. Virgin is an international chain that says they are upscale HOWEVER - additional DAILY charges for things like workout room and swimming pool brings them to MOTEL 6 vibe. I have stayed at very upscale to mid-chain hotels and NEVERI have I been "additional" charged for basic amenities. All of the staff very courteous and professional. The coffee bar barisitta was extremely kind, professional and made excellent dirty matcha lattes!
My wife and I had an incredible stay at Virgin Hotels New Orleans—from the moment we walked in, everything felt thoughtful, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. The design is spot-on, the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and the overall vibe strikes that perfect balance between luxury and personality. Visiting in April during French Quarter Festival made the experience even more special. The city was alive with energy, music, and culture, and the hotel served as the perfect home base to take it all in while still offering a relaxing retreat when you needed it. What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the people. Ryan, Chris, and Isaac were all exceptional. Each of them went out of their way to be helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. Whether it was answering questions, offering recommendations, or just creating a positive interaction in passing, they consistently showed up with great attitudes and big smiles. It’s rare to see that level of consistency across multiple team members—it really elevates the entire stay. You can tell there’s a strong culture here, and it shows in every interaction. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Just got to spend a long weekend here and I can’t say enough nice things about the staff! Everyone was so kind and helpful. I was unlucky and was the one who just so happened to be in the ladies changing room by the pool when a creepy man decided to hangout and enjoy himself by watching me. I immediately went and told the bartender and the man was immediately escorted off the premises! The fact that I was taken seriously and not questioned felt good. Taking mine and everyone else’s safety seriously shows they truly care about their guests. Now for a more positive note! The rooms are so cool. You walk into a dressing room with closets, a sink, and a vanity. The water closet is separate and so is the shower. The shower even had a handheld and rain shower head! After the dressing room, there were two big doors that led into the bedroom. The banquette in the window was my companion’s favorite place to sit! The SMEG fridge used for the minibar was genius. They even have electric kettles in the rooms which was perfect for us! I highly recommend staying here while in New Orleans. Close enough to walk to the French Quarter but far enough away you have peace and quiet.
I stayed at Virgin Hotels New Orleans in October to celebrate a birthday, and the experience was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, Latrell and Keeva at the front desk set the tone for an amazing stay. They were incredibly inviting, friendly, and welcoming — the kind of team members who make you feel like you’re genuinely valued. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly and made sure I felt comfortable and informed. What really touched me was the thoughtful celebratory toast and chocolates they had sent up to my room. It was such a special gesture and made my birthday feel even more meaningful. Latrell and Keeva truly made my stay exceptional. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail are exactly why I’d return. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for great service and a memorable experience!
Honestly I do not know where to begin. This was my first experience it's time staying at a Virgin Hotel property and it was a great decision. I checked in with Eleanor & Demontae were very hospitable and down to earth. They were very helpful and made checking in and absolute breeze. I was eligible for a room upgrade which they made happen in addition to other perks that came with the way I booked my room. The next day as I checked out I met other great staff members. I went downstairs to eat breakfast and Caitlyn was so helpful it seemed to be unreal. She was the hostess, but patiently helped me with all of my questions I had about the menu. It would have been very easy for her to just pass me off to somebody and go back to helping someone else or just being at the host stand, but she wanted to ensure that she was as helpful as possible with answering all of my questions. Natalia, Rebecca, & Assata all head warm energy and created a comfortable environment as I ate my breakfast. They were consistently checking on me and continued to keep their energy high as they answered any requests that I had. I chose the common house breakfast and it was very good. I also had the steak sandwich & added eggs. The sandwich would honestly have been perfect if the fig spread & bleu cheese was not part of the sandwich. The bread was toasted kind of hard also. If they make those modifications and changes to that sandwich it would be one of the best sellers on the menu by far. Keeva & Westley answered questions I had even in the midst of having a line out of the door of people checking in. They did not come off as flustered, too busy to entertain or answer my questions, and was very intentional about making sure each guest they were helping at the time received their attention. Akeyla added value to the day with her energy, humor, and personality. She is a great compliment to the team and adds value with the attributes she provides. Justin was in valet and was the first line of defense for great customer service. He was energetic, personable, and informative as I began my check-in when I first pulled up. We had a great conversation and he added to the Great atmosphere that the entire staff already created with my experience there. Every hotel has a certain level of customer service that they provide. Many times it comes off as stuffy and packaged. What I mean is that it seems as though they are overdoing it because they are in customer service and they are dealing with the customers and it does not seem genuine. Everyone I came in contact with at this location was personable, energetic, happy, helpful, and patient. They all were synchronized on one accord and the customer service seemed effortless as it was definitely a first-class experience. I highly recommend booking at this location so that you can not only enjoy a very different and unique hotel room, but phenomenal customer service as well.
Damian and Justin were excellent with helping us with the valet during our stay. Alsatian (Ashley) also offered great service in the Common club. The hotel is a great deal, especially if you're booking through the American Express portal.
Excellent by all metrics. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. I absolutely adored how tech-forward the rooms were, and the city view from my corner suite (Room 811) were breathtaking. The pillows were fluffy as was the bed, and shower water pressure and temperature were perfect. Quiet at night and walkable to popular destinations, including Canal Street. Staff were all around excellent, from Jerminy (sp) and Justin in valet, to front-desk/concierge, to restaurant and bar staff. All staff that I encountered were friendly, respectful, and attentive, without being overbearing. **For those (like me) that forgot an umbrella, they have one in the room, and it came in handy as it rained 2/3 days I stayed in NOLA. I thought this offering was a classy and thoughtful touch. I will be back!!! What a fantastic experience!! One of the best I’ve ever had a hotel in the U.S. Seriously, I am blown away.
Had a great experience with valet parking at the Virgin Hotel in New Orleans. Damien brought the car around quickly and made the whole process smooth. Justin was especially kind and patient, even though my car decided to be a bit of a headache — the battery ended up dying and he still handled everything calmly and professionally. Really appreciate the help and great service from both of them!
