The Dauphine Orleans Hotel is located in a prime spot in the French Quarter, offering convenient access to Bourbon Street and numerous attractions. While generally well-received for its location and friendly staff, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in room quality, occasional maintenance issues, and unexpected parking fees.
Had a fantastic weekend stay at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Staff was nice, check in was easy. The location is unbeatable. Just far enough off bourbon street to feel calm and quiet, but everything is walkable. Rooms are basic but I had no complaints, more than adequate for the price we paid on a Mardi Gras weekend. Would definitely stay again
Sanaa at the Dauphine Hotel was wonderful. We had a few issues with our room at check-in, and she took care of everything immediately with professionalism and genuine kindness. The hotel itself is beautiful, but people like Sanaa truly elevate the experience. This is Southern hospitality at its finest — attentive, warm, and thoughtful. We felt taken care of right away.
Stayed here two nights. Great price and perfect location. You are within walking distance of everything and there is valet parking on site. Staff is nice and friendly. Come experience that real southern hospitality.
Old and tired. Best way to describe this hotel. If you want to be close to the action and get little to no sleep, then this place is for you. First hint: Elevator trip is dark and doors don’t close. Two rooms we saw: old carpet. House phone did not work. Lights without bulbs. Final room, the tub didn’t drain. No hot water early in am. Stay here for location only. Stay somewhere else for anything resembling quality.
Truly horrible experience. We booked the entire Hermann house for our wedding block, and I confirmed several times that all our guests would be in the hermann house, and all the rooms were reserved for our party. Upon arrival, we found: my parents’ room had been mysteriously cancelled, and it took 4 separate trips to the desk to resolve this. My sister’s room had been inexplicably moved across the street. The hermann house was undergoing noisy construction, and several rooms in the house were booked to other parties. The suite they placed us (bride & groom) in had a clogged shower drain and it was street side with walls so thin we were woken up by 2am trucks every night, and we are heavy sleepers. We had to ask a friend to trade their standard room with us so we could sleep thru the night just once. As the cherry on top; the employee at corporate who I’d been working with to coordinate this booking stopped replying to emails or calls as soon as we started having issues. Most of the front desk staff we spoke to were unhelpful and seemingly annoyed. This used to be our go-to spot in Nola for every visit, and the rooms in the main house off the street are….. fine. But if something goes wrong, don’t expect them to help you. Will not return, and will not recommend to my friends.
From the moment we arrived they were extremely friendly and accommodating even upgrading our room for free. They gave us the knowledge to help us get around the area and was especially helpful of telling us where and where not to go to stay safe. They have an excellent bar with live jazz next door called My Baileys and was perfect atmosphere with also a friendly staff. I would highly recommend if you plan to visit the French quarter that this is the place to go and I hardly ever write a review.
My husband and I came to NOLA for a long weekend and stayed here. We absolutely loved our room! The bathroom was beautiful, the space was generous, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was also perfect—within walking distance of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter—which saved us a lot on Ubers. We would have easily given this hotel 4–5 stars, but our checkout experience unfortunately brings the rating down to 3 stars. On the morning of our departure, housekeeping stopped by around 9am. We let her know we were still in the room. Around 10:30am, I heard her in the hallway complaining that we were still inside. Then, around 11am, she knocked again. I told her we were checking out that day and would be leaving shortly. Since checkout is at 12pm, we didn’t understand the rush. When we checked out at 11:30am, the front desk clerk was on the phone with the same housekeeper, who was still complaining about us being in the room. I confirmed with the clerk that checkout is indeed at 12pm, and he said everything was fine. Despite that, we left feeling rushed and disrespected. We were well within our right to stay until checkout, and her attitude came across as rude and unprofessional. We would still love to return on our next visit to NOLA—the hotel itself is wonderful. Hopefully next time the housekeeping team will be in better spirits!
Loved my stay here. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. All the employees were amazing and very informative. One block away from Bourbon St, so you get the experience of it without all the noise
My stay at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel was an absolute dream from start to finish! From the moment I stepped into my room, I was completely captivated. It was a delightful journey back in time, filled with a unique historic charm that you just can't find anywhere else. The details, like the classic wooden shades on the windows, added to the authentic, old-world ambiance, making it a truly refreshing departure from the standard hotel experience. But the magic truly extended beyond the room. The patio garden was a stunning hidden oasis, where the gentle sounds of the fountains created a perfectly serene atmosphere. It was the ideal spot to unwind and soak in the city's spirit. What truly elevated the entire experience, however, was the wonderfully attentive staff. Every team member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making my stay exceptional. A perfect blend of historic character, tranquil beauty, and outstanding service. I cannot recommend it enough
I would highly recommend against staying at this hotel. The room was truly disgusting, I did not feel comfortable being barefoot in my own room. There was food under the bed and pills on the floor. Mold in the lights. Stains on the couch. Dirty bed skirt. Finally sitting on the bed at midnight after a day of traveling I realized my bed was broken, the box spring was actually snapped in the middle and on the floor. I did not even want a new room- as I knew they were booked up for 2 weddings. Just some slight compensation would have been great as it felt like I slept on a recliner for 3 nights. The "drink vouchers" you get don't even cover a cocktail, only beer. I asked for a water bottle at the front desk and was told "absolutely not" by the overnight desk guy. Both ice machines on my floor were broken. Only redemption was housekeeping was very friendly, and the location is great
