The Dauphine Orleans Hotel offers a central location in the French Quarter, providing convenient access to New Orleans' attractions and nightlife. While some reviews highlight excellent customer service and a charming historic ambiance, recurring concerns involve outdated room conditions, noise levels, and inconsistent experiences with amenities.
Let’s start with the bad news first. Our room stunk of mildew when we walked in. The smell was wet and heavy, if you know what I mean. We were on the fourth floor of the main building and I’m pretty sure every room smelled the same. I had booked two rooms for the night and my daughter and her husband stayed in the other one. Their room smelled pretty bad too but was also extremely hot. They were in the same building on the third floor. They said the carpet in their room was wet everywhere. The hotel desk said they were fully booked when we checked in so I did not bother to ask for another room. It was for one night and we had a birthday celebration to go to about one block away. That’s the reason I chose this location because it was close to the party and had a parking garage attached that you could use if you paid $58.00 a night! Of course we did out of convenience. I’m writing this review to warn out of towners coming to my city to choose your hotel carefully and do your research. This hotel was really pitiful and I suspected it would be but I needed to stay close to the planned venue with parking. If not for that, there is no way I would have stayed. So now you know not to use the Dauphine Orleans Hotel for your visit to NOLA.
We stayed at the Dauphine Orleans during Memorial Weekend 2026 and this hotel and her full staff made our stay amazing. The room was clean and spacious with everything we needed. One walking block away from Bourbon Street and you did not hear any noise. Richard in the garage gave us his local favorite places to see and do and they were on point. He made sure my vehicle was ready for our early (way too early) check out. Every single front desk managers was friendly and accommodating. They wanted to make sure our stay was good. Thank you for such a great stay for our first time in New Orleans
Stayed for three days and the service was impeccable. Centrally located within walking distance of everyrhing in the french quarter with a stunning view of the skyline. There was only one thing I would say to improve upon... the bed. We had a double bed room, one was bigger than the other. The smaller one was not as comfortable as the bigger one, but it still served it's purpose. Balcony access in the room was awesome. All-in-all, would stay again.
The GM of the property (Teyonda), KB, Michael S, Sana and Richard (Valet service) WERE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! BY FAR THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AT ANY HOTEL! Teyonda went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top notch! She literally did everything she could to make our stay the best! Teyonda had her whole team ready! She is an incredible person and amazing GM! Michael S. made sure my trip was paid for before hand (as I was in town for a wedding and didn't want to hassle with the bill so I could focus on the wedding) and Richard was on time with my car and extremely friendly! KB literally did something so spectacular for us that it made our trip even more special! I personally can't thank KB enough as she was hugely responsible for making sure we were comfortable! Sana is a ray of sunshine that always has a smile on her face! She was constantly checking on us, asking if we needed anything and during our check-in process I LITERALLY HAD GOOSE BUMPS with how friendly and welcoming she was! I literally looked forward to see Sana any time I walked past the front office! These 5 individuals went above and beyond and made my stay PHENOMENAL! The room was beautiful, housekeeping was on point and clean, but the reason I will be returning is soley because of these 5 individuals and the efforts they made to make our stay the best ever! As far as our room, we stayed in one of their Carriage rooms! It was absolutely beautiful! It had a walk in shower with his/her shower heads. Beautiful red drapes over the windows. A beautiful red headboard over the bed. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and the pillows/sheets were soft and comfy. The moment we walked in our, it was clean and set up perfectly! Housekeeping did a great job of making sure it stayed that way! I highly recommend booking one of their Carriage rooms! The hotel pool was clean and refreshing after a day of walking the Quarters. May Baileys bar was uniquely decorated and the cocktails were on point! Overall the Dauphine Orleans Hotel is a beautiful hotel with EXCEPTIONAL customer service and it starts at the top with an amazing GM in Teyonda! 100/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great hotel with a great location in the French Quarters!
We visited on March 5 for 7 days. It was our honeymoon! Nothing was done special for us as Newly Weds. I was a little disappointed about that. I was told prior to arrival they would take extra special care of us. It was fine..but not special. We stayed above the pool in the carriage house. Cute room with 2 double doors and large bed. No dresser for clothing! We used the ironing board! The room did not have fridge! I asked at the desk for a cooler and finally they told me it should have cone with a fridge and one was brought to us. Bathroom is new and has a large shower. Toilet is awkward. Very tight fit. The tp roller was broken and did not work. Back of the bathroom door was missing a hook that once was there. Sink is outside the bathroom.Hairdryer was missing the turn on switch and I had to chance sticking my finger inside to get it to work using my fingernails. Location is wonderful for walking everywhere or hopping on a cable car. The bar is attached and can be extremely noisy as voices travel and explode out of the alleyway. Bar closes at midnight and is quiet after that. Loud street noise until midnight as well. Pool is not heated but lovely area. Tye bar is very cute, haunted and easy to spend time in. Great bartenders. We would stay again but only in the courtyard rooms.
Had a fantastic weekend stay at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Staff was nice, check in was easy. The location is unbeatable. Just far enough off bourbon street to feel calm and quiet, but everything is walkable. Rooms are basic but I had no complaints, more than adequate for the price we paid on a Mardi Gras weekend. Would definitely stay again
Sanaa at the Dauphine Hotel was wonderful. We had a few issues with our room at check-in, and she took care of everything immediately with professionalism and genuine kindness. The hotel itself is beautiful, but people like Sanaa truly elevate the experience. This is Southern hospitality at its finest — attentive, warm, and thoughtful. We felt taken care of right away.
Stayed here two nights. Great price and perfect location. You are within walking distance of everything and there is valet parking on site. Staff is nice and friendly. Come experience that real southern hospitality.
Old and tired. Best way to describe this hotel. If you want to be close to the action and get little to no sleep, then this place is for you. First hint: Elevator trip is dark and doors don’t close. Two rooms we saw: old carpet. House phone did not work. Lights without bulbs. Final room, the tub didn’t drain. No hot water early in am. Stay here for location only. Stay somewhere else for anything resembling quality.
Truly horrible experience. We booked the entire Hermann house for our wedding block, and I confirmed several times that all our guests would be in the hermann house, and all the rooms were reserved for our party. Upon arrival, we found: my parents’ room had been mysteriously cancelled, and it took 4 separate trips to the desk to resolve this. My sister’s room had been inexplicably moved across the street. The hermann house was undergoing noisy construction, and several rooms in the house were booked to other parties. The suite they placed us (bride & groom) in had a clogged shower drain and it was street side with walls so thin we were woken up by 2am trucks every night, and we are heavy sleepers. We had to ask a friend to trade their standard room with us so we could sleep thru the night just once. As the cherry on top; the employee at corporate who I’d been working with to coordinate this booking stopped replying to emails or calls as soon as we started having issues. Most of the front desk staff we spoke to were unhelpful and seemingly annoyed. This used to be our go-to spot in Nola for every visit, and the rooms in the main house off the street are….. fine. But if something goes wrong, don’t expect them to help you. Will not return, and will not recommend to my friends.
