However, recent reports detail significant issues including inconsistent AC, a fire alarm malfunction, and lack of amenities during peak periods. EDITED ON 3.3.26 Hi Eddie, Thank you for your response (below). I do believe you are mistaking me for someone else you spoke to, as we never were offered a move to a sister hotel, or a compensation (I know many on our hallway had no AC, so this mix-up is understandable). I spoke to several women at the front desk, but not you. As of this morning at 8am, I do thank you for refunding one night of our stay (and I got the invoice emailed at 8am). Because of that, I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars, as I realize you do care. Please know that we never spoke though, and you are mixing someone else up with me, perhaps. Our volleyball team booked a block of rooms at Cambria for the Music City tournament due to its proximity to the convention center. I am not someone who typically leaves negative reviews, and I waited a week before posting this, but I feel it is important to share our experience for other families and teams considering their options. We checked in on Thursday, February 19, and immediately realized our room had no functioning AC. The front desk let us know they were fully booked and unable to move us. They kindly brought two fans, but no room adjustment or discount was offered. From Thursday through Saturday, the room was extremely hot and humid. It felt like a sauna, and it was genuinely difficult to sleep because of how heavy and damp the air was. Even running cold water caused condensation and steam at the faucet. I showed the front desk photos of the thermostat and the faucet, but again, no compensation was offered. On Saturday morning around 6:30 am, another volleyball mom called to alert me that there was a fire. My daughters were asleep and no alarms were going off. I stepped into the hallway and was met with visible smoke. I immediately woke my girls and our neighbors, and we exited in pajamas. We later learned the fire was in an adjacent building, not the hotel itself, but with smoke in the hallway and flames visibly touching the exterior of our building, I fully expected the fire alarm system to activate or at minimum receive communication from the front desk. No alarm ever sounded. We were eventually moved to a room with working AC on Saturday evening before our Sunday departure. While I appreciate that the staff members we interacted with were kind and clearly doing their best under pressure, the overall experience was disappointing. When a room does not have functioning AC for the majority of a stay, especially during a large event, I believe some form of compensation should be offered. Additionally, during high-traffic times like tournament weekends, the hotel appears underprepared. The gym had no water available, and the advertised “free coffee period” consisted of one staff member handling bar service and a single coffee pot, making it nearly inaccessible. I share this not to place blame on individual staff members, but to help other families and teams make informed decisions when there are many options near the convention center.

We had a lovely stay at the Cambria. Our room was very clean, the people that worked there were extremely nice and helpful. It was very quiet! And of course, we had a blast during Mardi Gras (without stepping foot onto Bourbon Street!). It is a beautiful city!

Excellent, safe location. The hotel is gorgeous. Rooms are very cool. Staff is so very nice, and very helpful. They really want you to have fun, and relax. We were very pleasantly surprised. We've never been to NOLA. Such a fantastic hotel stay our first time. Super easy walking distance to French Quarter, and WW2 museum. Close to the Mississippi River, shopping area, steamboats. It's all right here in my opinion. Just a beautiful hotel. If we're ever back in NOLA, this is where we'll be.

We stayed at Cambria on our first trip to New Orleans, the location is perfect to explore the heart of New Orleans. We appreciate the accommodations of being able to leave our luggage since we arrived before 3pm for check in & we were able to explore Canal St & go for a walk by the water in the meantime. Canal St, Bourbon St & French Quarters are all within 20mins from hotel. The service was great! We got the wrong room booked since it was through a third party and they resolved the issue within 15mins. The hotel did not have water all 4 nights we stayed there so we had to purchase our own. The restaurant in the lobby also did not have water and was closed 3/4 nights we stayed. Overall great hotel and service.

2nd stay here in 3 weeks. Love this little boutique hotel. Clean and has nice decor. The only complaint I have is there are no blankets in the room. The bed is comfortable as are the pillows. It would be great if they had a bed spread or blanket on top of the flat sheet and thin sheet cover Staff here are just wonderful. Be back next month.

Service was great, host gave good recommendations on eating and places to visit. Valet was very friendly and helpful. Parked our vehicle at the hotel for the cruise. They gave a good price for parking and called a car service to deliver us to port and picked us up on return. Will definitely stay here again and will recommend to all our friends and family.

This hotel was filthy—by far the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed. There was BODY HAIR throughout the bathroom, including on the toilet, which is absolutely unacceptable. The bathroom sink was severely clogged and foul-smelling water backed up. The water reeked and you could clearly see debris and residue coming back up, which was disgusting and unsanitary. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was essentially unusable—apps and websites wouldn’t load—and cellular reception inside the room was also very poor, so using my own mobile data as a backup didn’t help much either. I’ve stayed in hotels of all levels around the world—from five-star properties, to budget roadside motels, to even a treehouse in the Amazon jungle. No matter how basic or remote the accommodation was, the room itself was always cleaned to a basic standard. This place was not. I genuinely don’t understand how a hotel labeled as 4-star can be operating at this level. The 4.5 rating made me think this would be a reliable choice, so I’m honestly shocked. I will absolutely never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

If you’re visiting NOLA, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel! We stayed here for our wedding and the service from the staff was top notch. A special shoutout to Sharon at the front desk for her help the whole week! She was so personable and she even took a moment to chat with us, laugh and made us feel welcome during our whole stay! The hotel is centrally located making it super convenient to walk to local spots. I also love that they had a small bar and market to grab drinks or food items in a pinch. The rooms also were very clean and loved the decor and so fitting specially for Halloween which was when we were staying.

My wife and I were in New Orleans for our honeymoon, and we were looking for a hotel that wasnt next to a busy party street, but at the same time wasnt in the middle of nowhere. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. Walking distance from all the the major landmarks, but on a quiet enough street so that you'll actually be able to get some sleep, if you want it! Room was clean, quirkily decorated and of a very decent size. Great bar on site, we didnt eat dinner there but the breakfasts were decent. The staff were all very friendly, in particular James, who checked us in, and also Ray Jr, who was an absolutely delightful man, giving us some great tips on where to go for dinner, chatting with us about how our trip was going, and for sorting out taxis to the airport when it was sadly time to leave. We would definitely stay here again, and hopefully Ray Jr will still be there when we do!

We stayed at the Cambria Hotel in Downtown New Orleans Warehouse District for our wedding suite and wedding party room block, and our experience was absolutely amazing. Our wedding was the day before Halloween, so the entire hotel was decorated for the occasion, and even the staff dressed up, which made everything extra festive. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable. The amenities were excellent, especially the hotel bar with its $5 cocktail happy hour, which we enjoyed daily. When we checked into our suite, the staff surprised us with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, which was such a thoughtful touch. I was able to text the staff whenever we needed anything, and they always responded quickly and were very helpful. Our wedding party also had a wonderful experience, and everyone loved their stay. The location was perfect, with everything we needed within walking distance. If you are visiting New Orleans or hosting an event, I highly recommend the Cambria Hotel. The service, location, and value are all outstanding, and it made our wedding week unforgettable.
