The French Market Inn consistently receives high praise for its prime location in the French Quarter, friendly and helpful staff, and charming atmosphere. Guests frequently highlight the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, particularly those with balconies, and appreciate the hotel’s proximity to major attractions and restaurants. While some rooms can be small, the overall experience is considered memorable and highly recommended.
This is truly a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Everything about our stay was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made it easy to relax after exploring the city. What really stood out to us, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The two ladies at the reception were especially sweet and kind — they made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Their helpful attitude and warm hospitality made a big difference in our experience. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We truly appreciated the great service and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. We would definitely love to stay here again in the future. ?Aida and Albina Hadzic
We will absolutely be staying here every time we visit! The location is great, the room was perfect and always kept clean and the gals at the front desk were SO good to us. They made us feel at home away from home and were always so accommodating of everything we needed! The bellmen took care of us and were all 3 very helpful gentleman as well. The courtyard is gorgeous and the quaint saltwater pool was an amazing way to ail our feet from walking all day everyday. If you want to stay at your NOLA home away from home, have everything within an 10 minute walk or less and have every amenity you need met and exceeded book your stay HERE!
French Market Inn is a great hotel, perfectly located — close to everything, yet far enough from the loudness of Bourbon Street to enjoy some peace and quiet. The service is very attentive, helpful, and truly on top of everything. The courtyard between the buildings creates a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes the stay even more special. Plus, having a coffee shop next door is incredibly convenient. We especially enjoyed the morning sun and coffee on the balcony. At first, we were a little hesitant because of the possible noise, but it was quiet enough to truly relax and unwind. We absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed it very much.
We recently stayed at the French Market Inn and loved it! A charming hotel in the French Quarter within walking distance to everything which was important to us as we were traveling with a toddler. As much as we loved the hotel itself, the incredibly friendly and helpful staff is what really makes this place extra special! My 2 yo grandson excitedly ran to the lobby everyday to see his friends who always took the time to acknowledge him, even if it was simply a smile and wave if they were busy. Would absolutely stay here again!
We had a wonderful time here! The staff were all amazing and so friendly. We arrived on an early flight, and the staff were able to get us into a room long before check-in. The location is ideal for the french market, and isn't on a street that gets crazy and loud. It's only two blocks from Royal and Bourbon streets, and right down the road from Jackson Square and Cafe du Monde. Our room was unique and charming. The courtyard and gas lamps were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for the southern hospitality!
Absolutely love this hotel and staff. Places perfectly across the street from Cafe Beignet. Ms. Elisha at the front desk has helped my sister and I over the last 3 years and is wonderful. Great hospitality. Mr Sammy at the front door is a delight. Thank you both for making our stay memorable.
Beds and shower are great! We were very happy to pay for our choice of a larger room for its balcony. Next time (SWIDT?)* I would pick a room with a courtyard view. Might be smaller but quieter and the courtyard areas are nice. Claude made us feel most welcome from check-in to last morning. Room service is daily and done well. We wanted to be closer to Jackson Square than Bourbon St. This location is perfect for us. Third NOLA hotel stay (+1 AirB&B) and this is the first place we'd stay again for sure. *See What I Did There?
Had the pleasure of staying here on my very first trip to NOLA, the hotel was great walking distance from the shops, Bourbon St and the French Quarter. Room was small but comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is something I was very impressed by. I did some research and discovered that the hotel had some reports of being haunted. I experienced some noises throughout the night but wasn’t sure if it was the thins walls playing a part. However looking back at the hallway photos I took I can distinctly see a figure of an older period woman in the doorway. Very spooky and 10/10 would stay here again!
I was in New Orleans for a conference and stayed here for 5 days. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, especially the lady assigned at the welcome desk during late afternoon and though the night. She even recommended a good restaurant for me and my colleague. The Inn is a walking distance to the Café du Monde and the French Market, the Bourbon Street and Frenchmen Street. the Riverfront parks, museums, and live music venues. This walkability makes the hotel especially appealing to travelers who want to experience New Orleans fully without paying for transportation. The French Market Inn doesn’t aim to be flashy and that’s part of its charm. Instead, it focuses on delivering clean, comfortable, and practical accommodations at a reasonable price. Guest rooms are cozy and thoughtfully designed, blending historic character with modern necessities. Some rooms even include balconies overlooking Decatur Street, offering a front-row seat to the rhythm and life of the French Quarter. While street noise can be present, many guests consider it part of the authentic New Orleans experience. Affordable, authentic, and unmistakably New Orleans, the French Market Inn is a hidden gem worth discovering.
Second time here and I just love it. 4th floor overlooking interior courtyard. Room is small yet I can easily set up laptop, extra monitor, and work in the room. Bed is wonderful, firm but not hard. Shower, water pressure is grand. Staff are soooo nice. Coffee shop entrance from courtyard. Authentic NOLA. Blissfully quiet yet supremely walkable. Making this an annual thing!
