This historic property offers world-class service, spacious rooms with river views, and iconic dining, yet guests report inconsistent operational reliability and communication challenges that occasionally impede the experience.
Stayed here this week booked room for Sunday through Wednesday. Wasn’t able to show up until Monday. I called Sunday and informed hotel staff of this to avoid a no call no show cancellation. Showed up Monday was no call no showed anyway. Had to rebook room for new dates. Staff told me he could only book for one night and i needed to call from room phone to guest services. Got to room tried to call room services no one answered. Tried again no one answered. Got on Google called the hotel got on phone with same guy who said he couldn’t do it and then he did it. Second night of my stay they had maintenance in the adjacent room at 11:30 at night fixing things. Hammering on the wall. I called the guest services from the bedside phone no one answered. Googled Sheraton called front desk again. The lady that answered said yea that’s weird. They sent security. Security knocked on the door and discovered it was maintenance because they didn’t know? Why would they schedule maintenance at 11:30? They brought me a printed card saying we are sorry for your inconvenience. Most unorganized place I’ve ever stayed at by far.
The location is perfect for day tripping to local restaurants and tourist attractions. I found the staff helpful - we had a bit of a problem getting into one room, but the staff more than made up for it, which I do appreciate. The pool area is great, with good service, and makes for good fun watching boats on the river. The hotel feels classic 5 star FS, yet still has a unique New Orleans vibe, as well.
Excellent hotel - we loved everything about our stay. The room was spacious, and they set up a little tent for the kids, plus gave them toys and treats, which we absolutely loved as always. Breakfast was delicious - both the à la carte options and the weekend buffet had a great selection. We’re just sorry we didn’t get a chance to visit the outdoor pool. It has a beautiful view and is heated, but the first day was too cold, and after that we were busy exploring the city and watching the parade, so there wasn’t time for the pool. So we’ll definitely be back again - and next time we’re going to the pool for sure :) The staff was courteous and polite. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay.
The Four Seasons New Orleans is absolutely top-tier. From the moment you walk in, everything feels elevated — the service, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail are on another level. The location is perfect, with incredible views of the Mississippi River and easy access to everything downtown. The rooms are immaculate, modern, and extremely comfortable. Bed, shower, lighting, soundproofing — all flawless. You can tell they’ve thought through every detail to make the stay effortless. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Every interaction was professional, warm, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing. It feels like luxury without being stiff. If you’re looking for the best place to stay in New Orleans — whether for business, a getaway, or a special occasion — this is it. Worth every dollar. I’ll absolutely be back.
This hotel has very nice rooms, but we will likely stay elsewhere on our next trip to New Orleans due to the noise from the train and because the service was on par or a little below the many fine hotels that have a cheaper rate. The positives: the rooms are excellent, modern and beautiful. The bedding very cozy. Housekeeping was great. The negatives: Occasional noise from a train early in the morning. Most electronic things in the room did not work (the do not disturb light got stuck on, the speed dial on the phones didn't work, there was an ipad beside the bed that did not turn on). Service at breakfast was slow at times, as was delivery of items we requested for the room (e.g. non feather pillow). Billing not itemized at end of stay.
Wonderful service! Staff very welcoming and accommodating to requests. Breakfast was A la carte and amazing. Room very clean. Loved the holiday decorations. So happy we picked this hotel. We used the Amex platinum FHR deal, and got an upgrade and river view, resort credit of $100 to be used on anything, and breakfast of $120 per room per day. Great deal. They gave us an early check in and late check out too.
I have to say, I usually love Four Seasons properties but this one is nowhere near the level of luxury or service that I have experienced in the past. I booked a 3 night stay and had an issue with my travel so could only stay 2 nights. They would not refund me for the first night which surprised me. Once arriving, I experienced nothing but problems with my room. The door didn’t lock which meant my room was accessible by anyone at anytime. Instead of changing my room, they spent 3.5 hours trying to fix it which kept me from being able to exit as I didn’t want to leave my belongings. Not only is that a risk of theft, it is a safety issue. The next day I had the opposite problem…I couldn’t even get into my room as the key card scanner stopped working. Hours later, I got back into my room. Just a crazy experience overall and it left me disappointed as I received no credit, refund, or upgrade. I would not recommend staying here.
October 2025, we are so happy we selected the Four Seasons New Orleans! The quality was strong as expected. It is well worth booking a room on the river side to enjoy the constant flow of ships. There are also great river views from the restaurant and pool. We looked at other top end hotel options with pools but ultimately settled on the Four Season based on the pool setting and sun exposure. It did not disappoint there. The service at the pool was excellent most days but understaffed one day. The train noise – yes there is at times train noise. We were there 4 nights on the 16th floor, and I think we heard it once in the morning and once in the middle of the night, but it was not a surprise (because of reviews here) and not a big issue. I think the hotel could actually benefit from owning it more with something train focused for kids and some playful adult item e.g. chocolate trains on the pillow at turn down. The lobby space is a bit smaller as is the case for many city vs resort locations, but we generally found it calm. Some evenings there was high energy at the bar but all appropriate. It was extremely convenient to both the French Quarter and Garden District. Highly recommend. (Also highly recommend the new restaurant, Delacroix) I understand the hotel building set empty for several years before the Four Seasons converted it from office space to hotel. I commend them for being creative with thier retrofitting vs it being left empty or blowing something up to replace it with more construction. . ??Stay here again ??Location ?Staff helpful . Overall very nice hotel with a great location and everything is in walking distance. During our stay we had an issue getting housekeeping to come by. House keeping reached out and said they would service the room and it took 3 different calls to get that done and the items we requested. When the room was serviced we asked for something to not be thrown away because we just bought it from a restaurant when we came back to our room and it was thrown away despite requesting it to not be. The head of housekeeping was really sweet about trying to replace the food by having their kitchen make it but since it didn’t come from them originally it just wasn’t the same
Great stay. We had a room that overlooked the river. Comfortable bed with lots of feather pillows and a large bathroom with a free standing bathtub. The room was very quiet. The pool area was very nice with lounge chairs and a bar. Beautiful lobby bar. Everyone was very friendly. They allowed dogs and brought up a bed & bowls for him. The gym was large with all new equipment. They offered us an early check in (11am) and a late check out (2pm) 12 minute walk to the French Quarter
