Le Méridien New Orleans receives generally positive guest reviews, highlighting exceptional staff service and a convenient location within New Orleans. However, recurring concerns involve inconsistent service, issues with room amenities (such as fluctuating water temperature and lack of ice), and occasional billing discrepancies, particularly regarding undisclosed resort fees. Recent reviews show both positive and negative experiences.
First I would like to say thank you to the Brandon, the excellent service he provided during our stay. The service at the bar was great! Shout to Paul as well. The hotel was a in great proximity to restaurants and local spots. Will visit again ! My only negative would be some clarity around the deposit when checking in.
Although my initial room was not up to par, the ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate me. Their kindness, professionalism, and exceptional customer service exceeded my expectations and completely turned my experience around. I truly appreciated their efforts and would definitely stay here again!
5 stars for Joy! We stay in NOLA all the time, but this was the most warm and welcoming stay ever. Her love of people is so genuine. This hotel is so lucky to have such a valuable representative as her. I highly recommend looking for her and chatting with her for just a few moments. She RADIATES positivity. She's easy to find...she's the fabulously, classy lady with the beautiful smile and fabulous nails! Oh and Valet pleasant, nice and very accommodating. Got the car quickly.
The hotel itself is in a nice location, and the overall aesthetic is appealing. However, the service and amenities are terrible. If you want ice, you have to go to the front desk there’s no ice available on the floors, and there’s a $2 delivery fee if you want it brought to your room. Upon arrival, the valet took our luggage and stored it in a closet without giving us a ticket or any form of tracking, then went right back outside. I had to inform the front desk that our luggage was inside the closet, and she had to go get the valet to properly label it so the bellboy would know where to deliver it. I also had ice delivered, which took over an hour to arrive, and the bag was extremely small barely enough for two people. I requested face towels as well; after waiting more than 30 minutes, I went downstairs to get them myself, only to be told they couldn’t provide any because housekeeping had them, and I would have to wait for them to come to my floor. Housekeeping never came to clean the room at any point during our stay. At checkout, I requested a luggage cart, but they told me they didn’t have a bellboy working that day, so I had to retrieve it myself. Overall, I would rate my stay a 5 out of 10. I wouldn’t book here again or recommend it. However, most of the staff I encountered were friendly especially Mr. Raynard he was greatly appreciated!
My husband and I stayed here while celebrating my birthday and found the hotel to be very nice. The staff was extremely kind even before knowing we were celebrating my birthday. Erica and Joy at the front desk took great care of us and had such great hospitality which seems so rare these days. They really made it feel like a home away from home. I’d definitely return when in NOLA again. Note to management: The water temperature fluctuated greatly while showering. It would go from cool to extremely hot without moving the knob. This made showering with kids a bit difficult since it was unpredictable when the temperature would shift to be too hot for them. We were in room 511.
If you can’t accommodate an early check-In don’t mention it at all. My flight landed at 8:50am I was willing to pay for an early check-an but was told that wouldn’t be necessary. Front desk seemed unorganized and didn’t know what was going on. Then when I asked the front desk staff, if there was any information regarding my check In she said just wait until 4pm. The only thing that made me happy about this place was the lady working the bar name Raven. She was excellent! She is who the four stars were for. Thank You Raven you made this process so much more convenient. Can’t rate the rooms yet because I’ve been waiting for 4hours and have two more hours to go. Thumbs down ?
We stayed at Le Méridien New Orleans and had a mixed experience that really came down to the people. Check-in was handled by Ms. Joy, who explained everything, including the resort fees and daily credit. Early check-in was not an issue, which we appreciated. However, when we asked for a room in a quiet location, she refused to check availability and instead stated that the hotel was at capacity. We went to the bar afterward and met Raven. While she wasn’t very friendly at first, she completely turned it around—warming up, offering great restaurant and activity recommendations, and making sure our drinks were exactly to our liking. Tawana, who was also working the bar, was very nice and welcoming from the beginning. Shane, the assistant manager for the bar/restaurant, greeted us and checked in to make sure our stay was going well throughout our visit. While sitting at the bar, Jasmin, the Director of Front Office, came over to speak with us and immediately resolved our room issue by getting us a better room. She even took care of our drinks, which was a special and much-appreciated touch. Bartenders Vegas and Brandon were also great—thanks for the extra chips, Brandon! Cons: • No working ice machine; ice must be picked up from the front desk • No bathroom in the lobby (you have to go to the second floor) • Daily housekeeping must be requested Overall, the hotel itself is decent, and several staff members truly went above and beyond. However, due to the inconsistencies, I would not stay here again.
If I could give 0 I would. Currently staying at this location under friends and family rate. My total for stay states $569. Upon check in I was told total plus $100 incidental fee would be charged. My total charged was $624 (hold) . On day 2 I was charged another $100 incidental fee. When I called to inquire I was told several things that because very alarming. First person on the phone stated my total was actually lower than I paid (515). Then stated there is a $100 per day incidental fee??? Never in my life has this ever happened at any hotel even 5 star ( which this is NOT). Then transfer to manager who stated this was emailed to me. When I asked for email I still have yet to receive proff of this. Then she states my room was upgraded upon arrival and the do not charge incidental when you arrive ( again never had this happen at any hotel because incidental is always help upon arrival). I stated that I did not ask for an upgrade and the room we are currently in is a king room as stated on my booking. It also smells like smoke and I have a teenager in there who has allergies. The room was a downgrade!!!. I was told she would rectify the situation and currently i have yet to hear anything back from her or about the situation . Check out is at 11. Hopefully I will be updating this post with good news.
The whole bar staff were incredible: Vegas, Paul, Brandon, and Raven. Front desk agents are amazing! Shootout to Ms. Joy and Coreyelle! Yes, the elevators were not working during my stay, but the staff did everything they could get people up and down in a timely fashion. Cheers to Kenny for providing the best service possible as a GM! Will definitely be back to visit the property. NOTE: The destination fee is used as a $25 daily credit towards food & beverage as well as other perks. If you are an elite member, you receive a $30 voucher for breakfast which is more than any other "luxury" Marriott property in downtown New Orleans.
I stayed here December 26th through 28th; my stay was AMAZING! The service, room food was 10/10. They gave us 25 dollars to use at the restaurant/bar. We used it at the restaurant but I'm literally just looking at my statement and it wasn't taken off. I will call after 8am inregards to this BUT this is on me because I should have said something (was in a rush and not paying attention). Overall I will definitely be staying here again! The views, locations, cleanliness customer service 10/10.
