Hotel Monteleone consistently receives rave reviews for its exceptional service, historic charm, and prime location in the French Quarter. Guests consistently praise the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, particularly at the front desk and bell service, creating a truly welcoming and memorable experience. The Carousel Bar and rooftop pool are also frequently highlighted as must-visit attractions.
If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I absolutely would. The level of service was beyond exceptional and far exceeded even the warmest Southern hospitality. The kindness and genuine care shown to us were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and I will always be grateful for it. A special thank you to Kenosha JJ at the front desk, Mr. Nolan for looking out for us, and Auntie Khiya for treating us like family. The entire staff was incredible...every interaction made us feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. From the service and the food to the rooms and every detail in between, everything was outstanding. This was truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
This was a great hotel. From the time i stepped out of the Lyft I didn't have to touch a bag. Then the concierge brought me right up to the front desk and told the receptionist exactly what I needed. Now the time was about 9 or 10ish so i fully expected to have to wait to checkin for a few hours but thankfully the receptionist was able to find a room for me right away. Once the receptionist checked me in she then gave me the rundown of the hotel. The room itself was nice and spacious. It is an older hotel but honestly this is the best hotel I've ever stayed at simply because of the service. I rarely give out 5 star reviews but this review was very much deserved. When it comes to the checkout process, it was just as easy as the checkin process and i STILL didn't have to touch a bag. Highly recommend this hotel.
In the heart of the French Quarter located on the quieter Royal Street, this upscale hotel is truly a glimpse of old world luxury. The service was really what stood out to me. While the rooms are nice and reasonably sized it was the people who made it phenomenal! I was there recently for a work meeting and the assistance I got with every aspect was truly above and beyond. I felt that they catered to every need and were extremely accommodating. If you have the budget for it, book your room here. I also had a nice view of the river on the 9th floor!
Hotel Monteleone delivered an exceptional business stay from start to finish. From the moment you arrive, the doormen set the tone: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The front-of-house staff carried that standard throughout, making every interaction smooth and effortless. A special mention is due for Russell, who stood out each morning as a warm and consistent presence. His helpfulness and attention to detail are exactly the kind of hospitality that turns a good hotel into a memorable one. The Carousel Bar is an experience in itself, a New Orleans icon that lives up to every bit of its reputation, with excellent drinks and an atmosphere that's hard to match. Dining was equally impressive, with food that was both well-crafted and satisfying.
By far my favorite hotel in the Quarters! Fabulous carousel bar with the best lemon drop martinis I've ever tasted and music that will make you move! Wonderful comfy beds and quiet rooms to escape the fun city for sleeping in. Rooftop pool is amazing with a fabulous bar. I love Nola and the Monterleone!
Great location if you want to be close to Cana or Bourbon Street. Staff were exceptional. From the doormen to the breakfast staff, everyone greeted me with a smile and made recommendations around the city. I felt very welcomed. The rooms are small, older style but may be exactly what you are looking for. Elevators are quick, I never waited more than 20 seconds. The bar is a carousel and there is live music some nights. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend.
The Hotel Monteleone is an old property located in the SW corner of the French Quarter, a block from Canal Street. The lobby and ground floors are beautifully decorated but retain the characteristics of an "old" hotel. But many of the rooms have been completely refurbished and modernized. These rooms are true luxury rooms. Not perfect but darn close. The bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. The showers are great with almost instant hot water in a strong stream. The beds are comfortable but the room we had was much too small for a king. There was insufficient room for two people with luggage for a two week trip. And the window view is pretty nightmarish. But you dont go to New Orleans to sit in your room and admire the view. The restraunt is good. Not great but solidly good. The appetizers served at the Carousel were outstanding. Two nights we had dinner by sharing plates. The Carousel is a big deal for a hotel bar. It attracts a lot of non guests which crowd the place. To me, the hotel's biggest feature is it's location. There are plenty of interesting shops within 2 blocks. Jackson Square and the French Market are a 10-15 minute walk over some of the WORST sidewalks this side of Mombassa. Given New Orlean's reputation for corruption and administrative buffoonery, I guess folks are happy with whatever they get. If you decide to taxi to Jackson Square the fare will be $10-15. New Orleans taxi drivers frequently run fare without the meter and charge you whatever they think they can get away with. I reported it to the Hotel Bellman and he just laughed and shrugged it off. I am looking forward to going back to New Orleans and I'll probably stay at the hotel. While it is eyewateringly expensive, it does offer value and a luxury"ish" experience.
I have never been so blown away by a professional hotel experience. The restaurant in the lobby, amazing. Carousel bar, very cool. Employees incredibly helpful. The room was comfortable, beautiful, perfect. I cannot wait to come back and show my family. Shoutout to Nachely at Criollo, she was very sweet.
I was here for a week long conference and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy. The location was perfect for walking around. The bar was amazing with good drinks and even better atmosphere. Even if you don't drink, go! Its a must. And they have an alcohol free menu that doesnt disappoint!
Absolutely incredible. The only place to stay in the French Quarter. This upscale luxury hotel does not disappoint. Traditionally fully staffed from Bellhops and doormen 24 hour room service and concierge service. Staff was friendly and service was impeccable. Valet parking with charging available for your EV if necessary. Two restaurants and bars on site. Excellent views of the city. We stayed in the newly renovated Iberville Tower and it couldn’t have been cleaner, more well appointed, or more luxurious. The hotel is one street over from Bourbon Street if you’re there to party and it’s on Royal Street if you’re there to shop. If the Hotel Monteleone is in your price range and you’re headed to the French Quarter, stop looking and book your room right now. It was as nice and good a hotel experience as we’ve ever had. I will absolutely stay here again if I find myself back in New Orleans.
