The Bienville House offers a charming and centrally located stay in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Guests consistently praise the friendly and attentive staff, particularly Beverly, for their exceptional service and helpful recommendations. While some rooms may exhibit signs of an older building, the overall experience is positive due to the hotel’s prime location and comfortable accommodations.
Great hotel, awesome location right in French Quarter. Wife and I came to town to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. I was concerned about sirens because there was a fire station right across the street, but we never had a problem with that. The rooms were very nice, the staff from pulling in to the garage to checking out were just great. Only complaint I have is we were right next to the elevator and it was a little loud when people were coming and going at all hours of the night. Would definetly stay there again.
This review is about a year overdue, but my wife and I were just reminiscing about our stay. It was that good. We stayed here because its over Latitude 29, which is our favorite, ( or top two or three) bar in the country. We were upgraded to an awesome suite because they were out of the room we booked. It had an awesome, classic, NOLA balcony. But what really took our stay to the next level was Beverly, who hooked me up with a full breakfast meal when I asked if they had any crackers or anything small and basic when my wife needed something to calm her stomach in order to take some medicine when she wasnt feeling well one morning. 10/10. Amazing location. Amazing room. Amazing service. Amazing city.
This was my first visit to New Orleans and the Bienville House Hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was very convenient either direction we went was just minutes away from attractions in the area. The room was spacious, clean and the balcony with street view added that extra luxurious stay I was seeking. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable in regards to the area. Thank you again Bienville House for the lovely get away see ya soon. Lynne and Bill
My husband and I stayed at Bienville House from Thursday through Saturday during Mardi Gras days, 2026. The staff was so kind during check-in and throughout our stay. The location cannot be beat- close enough to the activity of the busy French Quarter and also the parade routes, but it was not noisy or loud inside or around the hotel. Walking distance to pretty much everything. The bed was SUPER comfortable. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. I would recommend and stay here again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay and truly want to highlight the exceptional service we received from the front desk—especially Beverly. She was incredibly pleasant, professional, and accommodating every single time we interacted with her. Whether it was at midnight or as early as 6 a.m., Beverly greeted us with a smile and a genuine willingness to help. It made such a difference to feel so welcomed and taken care of at all hours. Staff like her are what turn a good stay into a great one. We would absolutely stay here again.
Great stay! They unfortunately changed the room I booked, so my brother and I had to share a bed, but everything else was really lovely. the location was great, and it was far enough from Bourbon that we could sleep soundly.
Stayed for two nights in December 2025. Nice stay, conveniently located in French Quarter. Staff were nice. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. It's an old building. Do not expect pristine new hotel experience. That said, the showers don't get very hot, and the hotel really is starting to show age in various ways. Overall, a decent stay.
Exceptional Charm, Unbeatable Service at The Bienville This hotel is a gem of New Orleans. Beyond the great location in the French Quarter, the staff is phenomenal—they are so friendly and attentive, they make this boutique experience feel like home. We were impressed by the standard of care: the rooms are well-appointed and extra clean, and the beds are very comfy. The highlight of our stay was the private balcony overlooking the tranquil courtyard and pool. It was the absolute perfect spot for morning coffee and relaxing before heading out. If you want charm, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality, this is the place. ? ? ? ? ? **A Perfect 5-Star Experience!**
2-stars is me being generous, one star for the GREAT location & a second star for the friendly staff and *EXCELLENT valet*! NOTHING else went right though.???? The attached restaurant won't allow anyone under 21 to enter, even if it's just to sit on the dining side for a meal. So, our 19 year old *legal-adult* daughter couldn't have dinner with us, so we cancelled our reservation. A hotel as nice as Bienville House should have an attached establishment that allows ALL guests to dine at, or at the very least it should be 18+. If a person is old enough to enlist in the military, they should be old enough to eat a meal at a hotel restaurant.? I was very disappointed! The hallway of our standard room was not as quiet as we'd hoped, but that was just due to our neighbors at the end of the hall in the Iberville Suite being too loud and slamming doors closed. As others have said, yes, walls are very thin. And believe me, I slammed our door back at them early the next morning! I docked two more stars for the broken rain-fall showerhead in room 418 (shower wand was the only way to get any water pressure at all) and the fact that I couldn't enjoy the pool on my one full day here, because it was closed for a "private event" all day, even though every time I looked in the courtyard there was no one out there using it. I was looking forward to that rain-fall shower all day on our first night of arrival... and we booked this hotel *because of the pool*. When I was finally able to get to the pool after 8pm, the water was way too cold, even though it's advertised as heated. I don't believe their pool heater was functioning. In my opinion, my overall experience was not worth the $314 per night (thank goodness we didn't book one of the more expensive rooms). This 2-night-stay was supposed to be a relaxing gift to myself, because I'm in breast cancer treatment & recently finished chemo, so I'm super sad that I didn't get to enjoy the very things I was most looking forward to (restaurant, rain shower, and heated saltwater pool). I will not stay here again... unless management is willing to do literally ANYTHING to compensate us in some way for the disappointing experience this time around... But recent reviews from guests having items stolen is disheartening, so I don't expect anything to come of my review either. Oh, our room safe was also inoperable. AND... I just discovered the bathroom outlet was also malfunctioning! If you hold the hairdryer plug partially in, it works, but if you push it all the way in, it doesnt work. (I didnd need a hairdryer, because of chemo hair, but my daughter did) Anywa, all of this was beyond ridiculous... I've had better functioning rooms at budget motels! Good grief... $314 per night for this. :(
Stayed at Bienville House this past weekend and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The hotel itself was stunning-- perfect location. Close to nightlife but still quiet and safe. Our room was spotless and spacious. The amenities were top notch (the pool is beautiful and private) and the staff is so kind and helpful. Latitude 29, the attached tiki bar, is SO GOOD. Possibly my favorite bar in NOLA...or maybe anywhere. 11/10.
