Guests generally praise the prime Downtown location, proximity to parades/streetcars, and friendly service at the Blake Hotel, but note the lack of free breakfast and pricey valet parking. Additionally, the property frequently receives criticism for outdated, unclean rooms, poor maintenance, and hygiene issues.

Quite a surprise for a Best Western Priemer hotel. Taylor made getting a last minute room easy. Valet parking is $50.00 Dollars Extra, but the Valet service was good. But if you use a parking lot/garage it's higher and you have to walk to and from the hotel. Room was very nice and clean. Room 310 had a view of St. Charles avenue and the passing Street Cars. NO free breakfast comes with this hotel, but connected to the hotel is "Cafe on the Square". A Great Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner restaurant, with good service. We stayed one night and ate there twice. Really Good food for $10-20 a person. The cafe has bright Sunny Windows that overlook St.Charles Ave and Lafayette Square for wonderful people watching and street cars passing by. Its a little noisy at this location during the day with traffic, street cars and sirens every now and then. But at night very quiet in your room.

The female front desk worker overnight was amazing! She made the experience very welcoming and was knowledgeable regarding all the questions I had about valet parking and finding good spots for the parades. It was a good location as the main parades came right by the hotel and it is within 10-20 min walking distance to canal st and French quarter. The rooms were clean and house keeping cleaned my room while staying 3 nights. I would highly recommend next time.

I wanted to give a review to answer a lot of questions that I had before my stay. We stayed during Mardi Gras 2026, we came in on Thursday and stayed until Sunday. Check in was busy but fast, I was greeted with a smile and attentiveness and professionalism. I was charged a 100 incidental deposit AND 80.00 for two arm bands JUST so we could get into our hotel room during the parades ( I though this was outlandish) Room: I had a 2 bed Queen Corner room with view. The room was huge we had alot of space to move around, although the room was NOT cleaned well before we got there. We found condoms and used lubrication in the drawer between the beds, a dirty washcloth hanging on the shower rod and used soap in the bathtub, I informer the front desk and I told them we had already unpacked and I was ok with not moving rooms just have someone please come and dispose of these items and they did. Also I want to add myself and my kids walked around all weekend barefooted ( don't judge I forgot our house shoes) in the room and NOT ONCE did our feet turn , what I call hotel room black. We had unlimited HOT water, the TV worked fine but the coffee pot and the microwave had ISSUES they need to be updated. We also used the mini fridge and it also worked fine. I do want to note here that the beds were HARD as a brick and the only blankets that were on the bed was 2 sheets and what I called a "waffle' blanket nothing thick. Also want to mention there are two elevators and they are slow, one wasn't working after a parade one night and really jammed things up, but the staff was soo amazing at trying to help people with what they could. There is a TINY restaurant located inside the hotel also accessible from the outside staff was friendly but I have had better food and drinks elsewhere. Location: Location was GREAT especially for MG. The parade is LITERALLY outside the front door, however its blocked by the "balcony" seating that is owned by The Blake hotel and NOT included with your room, its 56.00 and up for seating in those bleachers. However you can sit across the street for about 20.00 a person or stand in between for free ( which is what we done because we could get closer to the floats ( haha). The streetcar stop is across the street ( but keep in mind it will not be running during MG). We had a 4 block ( easy, straight) walk to Burbon/Canal street. Parking There is a parking deck right behind the hotel that is accessible day or night and its self serve pay to park and its about 60.00 a day but free on parade day. Its a secure deck with security. Overview Would I stay here again? Yes, especially if I had my kids with me again. What Blake Could/Should Change and what you need to be aware of 1. Beds are hard and the electronics in the room need a DESPREATE update. 2. Include Balcony seating with room ( or at least a discount) 3. Thicker blankets in the room. 4. Stop charging me EXTRA to get to my room during a MG parade!! That's is all. I hope this helps.

The first room they put us in wasn't finished cleaning! The second room had no hot water and the key card would hardly work! The front desk lady was very nice though! Hopefully maintenance will get it fixed! I hate to complain but you expect hot water in the shower and rooms cleaned all the way! They should give us a free night for all the trouble! Ok and now the lights are out!! They better give me a free room!! This sucks!! The owner needs to give it some tlc bad! Do not stay here!!

Avoid staying at this hotel if at all possible. I stayed here years ago (in 2018) and had a fairly good experience but this last time I stayed in October was absolutely awful. I arrived in the late morning/early afternoon and it was too early for my room to be ready, so I gave them my contact information and went out to get some food. I returned at check in time and was told my room was still not ready. So I sat in the lobby and waited. And waited. And waited. No one checked on me, no one gave me an update, nothing. Nearly 2 hours later, I went and checked again and was told my room was still not ready. I was running up on the time for an event and I still had to get ready so I asked them what my options were. They said they could give me an inferior room, not reimburse me the difference, and that was it. I took the room because I needed to get ready for the event but when I walked in, I wished I had not. It was disgusting. The bathroom was in rough shape, there was a leak in the ceiling into the tub that just dripped water down at a constant pace, and it rained that night and I heard a leak in the main bedroom as well. Amenities were abysmal and the room did not look updated at all. I slept so poorly and left as soon as I could in the morning. Would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

The staff was friendly and did their part, but the hotel itself simply doesn’t justify the price. The condition, comfort level, and overall experience don’t match the value of what you pay. Even with good service, the property falls short of what it should deliver for the cost.

Staff and location were great, but rooms were subpar. My room had some real issues. I just used my room as a place to sleep, so I did not complain to the front desk. I did complain to corporate with photos that showed: (1) dirty shower, (2) dog food on the floor, (3) broken curtains, (5) tarnished tub and sink, (6) makeup all over the patched bathroom door, (7) what appeared to be rust and mold on the bathroom, and (8) a dresser that looked like it was flood salvaged and not restored. Honestly the dog food on the floor after two housekeeping visits freaked me out the most.

Worse stay I’ve had since I been visiting New Orleans. The first issue I had was that I booked a room with two beds & ended up with a king bed. Went to the front desk to let them know that I was placed in the wrong room (no one showed any concern). The manager tells me to use the couch pull up for the second bed because all the rooms were booked up. Pulled the couch out there weren’t any sheets and it was very much off track. Second complaint was the water only got to room temperature in the shower. I normally let things like this be but I was not comfortable with my stay here at all.

While I would share the hotel’s inadequacies, others have already before me and have been met with empty responses. The staff is nice enough and the rooms underwhelming, due to an error in the system we were greeted with denial and a shrug. After two hours of waiting, we finally got our rooms only to sleep for a few hours and not have towels. Not a place for the weary traveler.

The room’s air conditioning was amazing and kept the temperature perfect throughout our stay. The beds were fine and comfortable enough. However, when we arrived, our room door was already propped open, which was concerning. We also noticed the room was quite dark — only about half the bulbs in the bathroom worked, and a few of the lamps in the room didn’t turn on at all. There were no hand towels provided to dry our hands, and the “city view” that was advertised was blocked by items on the window. Lastly, the phone in the room didn’t work, so we couldn’t call for room service. Overall, the stay had some good points, but several maintenance and service issues really took away from the experience.
