The Renaissance New Orleans Arts Warehouse District Hotel receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location and friendly staff, while others report significant issues with dated rooms, cleanliness concerns, and billing errors. Recent positive feedback highlights exceptional service and a convenient location for exploring the city, however negative experiences include room deficiencies and unresolved billing disputes.
This hotel is in serious need of updates. The art in the lobby area is great, but the rest of the hotel is incredibly dated, musty, and in need of a remodel. When checking in for a nearby conference I was told that the King room I'd reserved wasn't available and that they only had double beds, but he was upgrading my room for the trouble. I thanked him, got my key and headed up to my room to discover it was far from an upgrade. I believe he'd put me in likely one of the only rooms available as I quickly discovered I was in a handicap room with low hanging bars in the closet and a shower with the shower head at chair height. It was musty, moldy, and facing the interior of the hotel lobby - so very loud. At that point there is little to do but laugh at the "upgrade" and figure out how to hang my suit pants to not wrinkle or be dragging on the floor. Only true upside to this hotel is the close proximity to the convention center and surrounding area.
We were greeted and had a pleasant welcome when we arrived at the hotel. The staff we first met was very helpful. The rooms are very nice too, although I had to fix the toilet when we first arrived, it kept running and running but I opened the tank and fixed the chains on the flapper valve, no big deal. Our window view of the dumpster overflowing wasn't the most pleasant either but hey we were in the back so you have to put those dumpsters somewhere right, it was fine seriously I'm just mentioning it. The place was beautiful and they had an Art gallery banquet going on downstairs they looked like the were having an amazing experience. The night shift girl wasn't the most pleasant young lady to have encountered, I just needed a coffee pack for the room coffee maker, but to get her off that stool and away from that little space heater was a bother to her. You know most companies have a young one like this that just needs some extra guidance in customer service. I would for sure stay here again. Keep up the good work here, you guys have a gem of a place to visit in comfort. Oh yeah, if you're traveling with kids this a great place for that, they must have had a cheer competition going on close to here and seeing all of the proud mothers with those little cutie pies was awesome and they were dressed to impress and the accomodations for them had to be great they were all so darn friendly.
The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it easy to relax and feel at home. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful. A special mention goes to Jeff at the front desk—his kindness and attentiveness truly stood out and made our stay even better. He went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly and that we felt welcomed. Service like that makes a real difference, and it’s clear the Renaissance is fortunate to have someone like him on their team. Overall, it was a wonderful and pleasant stay.
Cory at the front desk was such a perfect blend of authentic New Orleans' hospitality & Marriott warmth. Plus, the hotel was very clean and welcoming; major bonus with having Legacy's Craft Tavern restaurant in the hotel! So grateful that we chose Renaissance New Orleans Arts Warehouse District for our anniversary staycation!
The area is beautiful and very walkable. Really enjoyed the scenery and the front desk staff. The problem begin with the checkout. Stayed here with my sisters 11/14-11/17 but did not receive my incidental deposit back until 11/28. Called the hotel and spoke with Tyler who was anything but helpful and basically asked me to call back on his day off the next day. Spoke to Asia who was far more competent and helpful. Had to find out from my bank that the hotel’s accounting department never released my funds which resulted in the unnecessarily long delay. Even called Marriott corporate office and nobody followed up.
I had an excellent stay here. Cory at the front desk checked me in and was very warm, welcoming, and helpful. All the other employees I interacted with were also very nice. There’s a nice rooftop pool and a nice gym. Lobby is cool. Location is convenient.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, and lots of interesting art throughout. The rooftop pool/jacuzzi were a great bonus to see views and enjoy the cool night air.
Room is very clean and comfort. All staffs are very friendly, nice, and helpful. Jeff from the check-in counter is SUPER caring. Renaissance is so lucky to have him!
Ideal location for both convention stay and proximity to the French quarter. If you enjoy taking walks vs uber everywhere then this girl is a good option. Safe. 5 mins to convention and 10 to French quarter. 5 to Caesars casino.
Cybil at the front desk was extremely helpful, informative and welcoming. The rooftop pool and hot tub were perfect after a day of sightseeing. The windows in the room and the chair both could use a good cleaning. Still a nice place to stay.
