The Residence Inn New Orleans French Quarter Area/Central Business District offers a convenient location and suite-style accommodations, making it a decent option for longer stays. However, recent reviews express significant concerns regarding cleanliness, inconsistent housekeeping, and outdated amenities, despite some positive employee interactions.
Housekeeping starts on your third day the price doesn’t match room upkeep, the room bathrooms are nasty and dishwasher was ridiculous, seems as if nobody touched it in months !! It looks like they don’t really care to clean them. The location is great it’s close to all tourists spots and bars. Other than that I would not recommend this hotel. Also the elevators sound horrible but Tiffany at the front desk was really sweet.
I was very disappointed with the lodging experience. The app doesn't make it clear that Residence Inn isn't a hotel. Room service has to be requested every day. We requested it today, but upon returning and wanting to shower, they hadn't replenished the towels, hadn't cleaned the room, the bed was completely unmade, and when we asked them to tidy it up, they simply brought the linens for us to make the bed ourselves, etc. There's no adequate space to store luggage; our bags were stored in a hallway where employees pass by. Also: the room doesn't have a safe, the coffee maker or its power outlet didn't work, the cups were dirty and smelled of old cloth, and the reception area's decor is outdated. They also mention a $25 discount coupon for tours, but these are restricted tours, and they don't mention them upfront at reception; I had to investigate. The staff aren't very welcoming. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting hotel-quality service.
We were staying here for a few weeks and had all the amenities of a studio apartment which was fairly nice. The people that work here are great yet the upkeep of the place is not so much. The staff are generally friendly and although my boyfriend was here for a few weeks, the housecleaning decided to stop by after 2 weeks of his being there. It was easy to request items to be sent to us if we were out or anything. The lobby seemed to have a mini mart if you were out of anything & there was a mini mart across the street if you needed anything as well. There's secure access to the gym on the 3rd floor & the laundry on 2nd floor: both really easy to use & readily available. Our room was on the 13th floor which was nice yet some of our room was not working to its best condition. You could park there yet its valet only.
My favorite place to stay! If I can't stay here I'm not coming! I stayed for my birthday 1-12 to 1-15 and I want to shoutout Grey for assisting with my requests for higher floor as well as his professionalism! My only regret is not meeting him during my stay but I now will return in a few weeks! I did get to meet Aaliyah who was also amazing, polite and always had a smile! Thank you Grey and Aaliyah for your great hospitality! It is employees like you who make a difference! THE ONLY HOTEL I WILL STAY IN NOLA! KEEP BEING GREAT!
Worst shower ever! We came for 3 days. I showered 1x then waited for the trip back to Jackson where we had a hotel with a decent shower head. How much is a decent showerhead? $65? I cannot State how terrible that showerhead is nor the fact that although it can turn and adjust the flow, it’s about 9 feet above my head. Yes, that’s an exaggeration as I am only 5’1” but I had to call my husband and who is 6’1” and he even had to reach up I covered the bathroom floor in towels bc~ you add water and that is a broken leg waiting to happen I know because I’ve had that experience The hotel was what it is, we came in on Friday night with the live music and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The valet were quick on the job and I guess the only critique I would have for them as they definitely change the radio when they drive your car. ? We were trying to figure out if they even got through one song by the time they parked it or if they went for a joyride I guess the hidden camera will let us know once I download the footage??? The hotel itself is located right next to Daisy Dukes and streetcar café and I got to tell you that Daisy Dukes is a lifesaver as there is no room service or anything besides amenities which you could buy for three or four times the normal cost. The room was beautiful, but had a stagnant smell so we bought plug-in, air fresheners, and a candle which solved all of that I think next time we come into New Orleans we will try something closer to Bourbon Street because for an old 52-year-old woman who needs two new hips that’s a lot of walking?? The trolley was always packed and I have a severe social panic disorder so that would not have been a good deal for us, but for most people it runs every 6 to 8 minutes and walking probably wouldn’t be an issue. Our room was on the fourth floor, and I could’ve watched the view out the window the entire time we were there my favorite part was at night watching people try to pull in and pull out a parking spots, and we literally watched a van almost here the bumper off a little crossover. Good times?
Great, no-frills hotel, in a great location 5 mins from French Quarter. We got upgraded to a full city view, 2 queen room with direct view of the Superdome. The parking next door can be convoluted so here is my tip. You have 2 options: self park on decks 5 and up for $39/day (which fluctuates on demand), this is operated by 3rd party so hotel makes it known to park there at your own risk. Option 2 would be to use the hotel's valet service which costs $50 (not including tax and tip); you just park your car in front of hotel entrance, unload your belongings then give key to attendant. They will park your car in the same garage next door, but you won't have to deal with looking for a spot or hauling your things up and down the parking elevator, going out the garage then going back into the hotel through the lobby since there is no direct entrance to the hotel from the garage. We opted for the valet option as it was easier for our party, traveling with a senior and 2 kids. Everything went smoothly; we made sure to ask to have our car ready 15 minutes prior to check out since there could be a wait. Knocking off 1 star because service was slow in the lobby as they have same person checking people in and ringing up purchases from their little store.
The hotel is in an excellent location, making it easy to access the French Quarter while also being convenient for heading back out of the area. The king suite was spacious, well appointed, and very clean, providing a comfortable stay overall. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. The only downside was that the bed sheets felt a bit scratchy and could be improved for added comfort.
I recently stayed here and I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the staff was amazing! Gray at the front desk was the most welcoming and kind person. He was very accommodating and really went out of the way to make our group feel special during the stay. The bartender that was there on Friday night was amazing as well. We had such a fun time hanging out with her at the bar while having pre dinner drinks! I will definitely be staying here again.
Stayed here with a friend for a concert at the Smoothie King Center. It was easy walking distance for us, or a very short uber ride if you prefer. From check-in to check-out, the staff was wonderful! Valet was very quick and easy. It was December and the lobby was decorated for Christmas! Our room was so spacious and CLEAN! I loved the giant windows for natural light and they were fully covered by blackout curtains for a great sleep. The street was surprisingly quiet too. Great location for food, drinks, entertainment, and shopping. The day of check-out, around 9:15am, we walked to Fourth Wall coffee shop for breakfast (highly recommend BTW). We got back to our room to gather our things and we checked-out at 9:50. Valet got the car and we were on the road before 10am! We did not use any of the hotel amenities or lounge, so I can’t review those. But the experience I did have was great! We felt safe and I will stay here again!
Walking distance to Snug Harbor, Mahagony Hall and the amazing World War 2 museum. Great staffs, truly friendly and accommodating. Comfy bed, warm comforter, good streaming television options, nice decor. The shower was sometimes a little weak, but we were on the to floor, so it goes. Didn't miss The Fourth Wall coffee shop around the corner...
