Hotel Peter and Paul is a distinct, converted historic property featuring plush furnishings, high-quality amenities, and a staff that frequently goes above and beyond. While primarily praised for its unique design, location, and personalized service, some guests reported issues with housekeeping efficiency.
We loved staying at this comfortable, beautiful, unique hotel. Every detail is curated - the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. So much thought has gone into this place, it is well worth a visit. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of great restaurants and bakeries. A haven!
Cool hotel and location in the marigny. But my room was never made up, and they definitely knew i was away, because I had to go into the hallway and ask for towels because there were none in my room. For $500 a night, you are getting a hipster bar and cafe and a coffee really cool property but honestly not worth it. You can do better downtown.
This is a very unique hotel that is rich in character and style. The room decor is well done and the bathroom and walk in shower is amazing. Bed, pillow, and linens are amazing. I slept very well. The staff is accommodating and so friendly. They take your luggage if your room isn’t ready and have it in the room waiting for you. Head to the bar that opens at 3pm for a cocktail or several. The bar is gorgeous with integrating with the ceiling above. Excellent craftsmanship. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with no late night music or shenanigans. I think I’ve found my go to in NOLA.
I don't think I could stay anywhere else in New Orleans. Everything from the comfort/cleanliness to the vibe to the location surpassed my expectations and I can't wait to return. Kelly and Jazz at the front desk we're both welcoming and kind, and provided great service. The facility itself is made up of 4 buildings; the main hotel which also includes an honor bar, the restaurant/bar/coffee shop, the church, and another area with a small gift shop and more rooms. There was a market going on at the church the weekend we visited and there were many vendors selling some beautifully made and locally made crafts. The breakfast at the restaurant was really good and the decor is stunning. Our server said they filled up multiple shipping containers of furniture from Europe to decorate the hotel. Everything was upholstered in plaid. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfy. I LOVED the location - just a few minutes walking from the French Quarter, however it was nice to be in the Marigny which was a bit quieter and offered a ton of little bars/cafes scattered amongst the colorful houses and murals. Cannot wait to return!
My stay at Hotel Peter & Paul was nothing short of magical. The design and decor alone are worth the visit—every space feels thoughtfully curated, rich with character, and beautifully layered with New Orleans charm. I stayed in the Loft Room, which was stunning, warm, and full of personality. It felt less like a hotel and more like a hidden retreat—artful, cozy, and inspiring. I was extremely impressed by how thoughtfully the décor supported the overall theme. From the warm, low ambient lighting to the long flowing curtains, every detail felt intentional—even the working rotary phone was a delightful and unexpected touch. The bar was equally impressive. Incredible ambiance, beautifully made cocktails, and a vibe that strikes the perfect balance between refined and relaxed. A very special shout-out to Deanne, whose service truly elevated my entire experience. She went above and beyond by offering me a private tour of the Church space and making sure I was familiar with all the amenities. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Because of her—and because of the magic of this property—I’m already looking forward to returning (as well as considering other Ash properties). If you’re visiting New Orleans and want a place that feels special, soulful, and unforgettable, this is it.
I had an amazing experience at the hotel. Diana was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The hotel itself was beautifully furnished and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Hotel Peter and Paul is absolutely beautiful — exactly what you’d hope to find when visiting such a unique and vibrant city like New Orleans. The attention to detail throughout the property is incredible and one of the main reasons we keep coming back time and time again. The staff, from the front desk to the restaurant and management, truly care about the guest experience and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location is perfect — it gives you the sense of living among the locals while still being just a short walk from great restaurants and the French Quarter. I would highly recommend Hotel Peter and Paul to anyone looking for one of New Orleans’ very best places to stay!
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Peter & Paul for a staycation to celebrate our anniversary, and we could not have had a better experience. This historic school/church property converted to a boutique hotel is the epitome of New Orleans - a combination of historic charm with a modern day flair. The attention to detail in the renovation and furnishing of the property is nothing short of spectacular! The check-in process was seamless, and the staff was super attentive to requests throughout our stay. The location is also incredibly walkable to New Orleans staples for food, coffee, and cocktails. The property itself also has fantastic amenities, including an on-site restaurant/bar and a super cute boutique. Can't wait to visit again!
I am a local but have stayed here for several staycations because that is how great the property is. Wonderful conversion of an old church/convent property that has that charm of many properties that are converted into hotels but also has what many conversions do not - charm but also great, well thought out, luxurious rooms. I recommend this property to anyone I know who is coming in from out of town. They also have a lot of great details covered - breakfast baskets, great robes, an honor bar, as well as an excellent cocktail bar and small restaurant, and its located in an area where a lot of "off the beaten path new orleans charm" is walkable.
From top to bottom, my family’s experience was great. On arrival my son and I both had personalized birthday notes in our rooms. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and offered suggestions for places to visit, and places to eat. The accommodations were beautiful and peaceful. Our bed was so comfortable and the shower was perfect. We had food one night at the hotel restaurant and everything was delicious and the service was on point. The gift shop was unique and again, friendly service. I can’t say enough good things about our experience there and will definitely stay there again on my next visit the New Orleans.
