Brent House Hotel is praised by guests for its excellent location near Ochsner and the French Quarter, highly responsive and accommodating staff, and comprehensive amenities including a pool, gym, and convenient cafeteria. However, recent reviews raise serious concerns about outdated room conditions, particularly regarding unclean bathrooms, poor air quality, and uncomfortable mattresses.
This was my first visit to New Orleans and I had stayed here for about a week to explore the famous french quarter and surrounding neighbourhoods! The location of this hotel is perfect if you're willing to take the public transport. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and takes you close to the french quarter where its less than a 3 minute walk. You can use the transit app to get more details. The hotel itself is amazing, while its rating is a 3-star I feel they operate slightly at a higher level. The cleanliness of the areas are top notch, the service staff and the front desk are helpful and responsive. It also has a gym which is included in your reservation, the gym is clean and well maintained, they also have a swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a decent lounge area. Lastly, I was not aware that this hotel was connected to the local research and teaching hospital as they have a full cafeteria open 8 am-8pm and the food is good quantity and affordable. All in all this was a perfect location for a budget traveler.
This will be my last time staying here. When visiting in past, this was my preferred hotel. From 2015-2021. As of recent, this place has gone down hill. The rooms are not clean. curtains dirty, tv and lamp shades are dusty, hair dryers have built up product left on it, and the door handles are gross. Also I’m not sure what’s going on, but the air quality is POOR! Nostrils instantly swell up as soon as I get off elevator to go to room. Only time I could get a breath of fresh air is stepping outside! Surprising for a hotel attached to a hospital. Also they must have replaced the beds between 2021-2025. The are now hard, and uncomfortable. The beds use to be some of the best I’ve ever slept on. Now every morning I woke up during my stay, my back and body hurt. This hotel is beautiful and the staff is so kind and accommodating. The corridor is so pretty with the fountains and comfy seating. Beautiful lights. The pool and hot tub are amazing. We were traveling all night to get to my cousin's wedding and they got our room for us early and no matter what we needed during the trip, they were so helpful. If you visit new Orleans, I highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful stay for our family. We had to travel to New Orleans for a family Memorial service. We chose the Brent House Hotel for the location and affordability and were amazed at the quality and safety. Our room was beautiful, very spacious and quiet. Parking was easy and meals using the Bistro was surprising affordable and large selection for the kids. The pool was lovely and had comfortable hot tub. We were able to use the Atrium area for the Memorial gathering which was just perfect. Long tables were available for food and photos and the staff roped our area for the private event. Our guests all complimented on the Atrium and Brent House saying it is perfect for visiting New Orleans and hosting. We were centrally located to St Charles Ave, Clearview, shopping and restaurants. I can honestly recommend staying here as we plan to return to return to Brent House for our next visit.
From the time we got to the hotel we had the most amazing experience. Thanks to Mr. Bobby who helped us navigate around and provide us with transportation to my wife appointments and to the hospital for her surgery and back to the hotel. But the bistro 42 doesn’t have very good selection for food during dinner time I wish they would have everything open at dinner time except for the two selections like the personal pizza and hot foods
TINA as the front desk is amazing!!! She helped us so much. When she saw that my husband was in a W/C, she changed our room to ground floor, H/C accessible. She was always pleasant and extremely helpful. Dr. Juanita S. Mullins
This hotel is actually very nice. Has all the amenities for a stay while loved one is in the hospital. Unfortunately the only bad thing I have to say is our bed was like sleeping on rocks. I was looking for something softer after the hospital.
Nice stay! Rooms were very cleaned. I was quite impressed. The quality of cleanliness is unmatched in comparison to other major hotels.
My daughter was getting married. I rented two rooms one to use as a bridal suite for ladies to get dress there and hang with my daughter until the wedding. The other room was for the men to get dress . Both of them enjoyed taking pictures at the hotel. All the staff was so very nice to all of us. Everything was great I would use it again Ruby LaBeau
Wonderful place to stay. Myself and family stayed her for my daughter’s college graduation. Rooms were clean and spacious, staff were extremely helpful and the overall experience was delightful. I would highly recommend a stay here. Beautiful hotel with pool and exercise facilities. Free parking is available and the hospital cafeteria’s food is great and they even have a Smoothie King and Barbershop if needed. It has everything and then some. Again the staff provided excellent service with true southern hospitality. This is my go to spot for my stays. Try it once and you’ll be sure to return.
