The Alder Hotel Uptown consistently receives positive feedback, particularly praising its convenient location near hospitals and restaurants, friendly and helpful staff, and clean rooms. While some guests appreciate its quiet atmosphere and free parking, recurring issues with room cleanliness and occasional maintenance problems, including leaky showers and bed bugs, have been raised. A notable concern is the unresolved deposit dispute experienced by one guest.

I have stayed at several hotels in N.O during the past year and this by far has been the best ( or maybe I am easily pleased). No traffic, no crowds, free parking, old neighborhood that is attracting new interest, walkable to several coffee shops etc and to bus /trolley stops. The hotel itself appears to be remodeled and well cleaned. The Staff are very helpful and pleasant. And the cherry on the cake … the sound of a rooster and chickens (across from the hotel ) in the morning. This is now my preferred place for future travel here.

We booked this hotel after canceling our reservations at another hotel because the reviews were awful. The hotel was 10 minutes from Bourbon Street, there is a Walgreens within walking distance, and it's pretty lit up around the hotel at night. The room was good, the staff was nice, and the parking lot is free to park. We were happy with our stay and will definitely use this hotel in the future if we make it back out there for vacation.

Excellent stay from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and made check-in a breeze. We loved the fact that there is plenty of parking and the pool area is a great place to relax in the afternoon. It’s right next to Ochsner Baptist, which was very convenient for our trip. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!

Safe location, free parking, and a quiet hotel. We had a great stay here! We had a few issues but that doesn’t change the 5 stars I’m giving this very nice hotel. They advertise that they have cribs but what we were given was a very short bassinet type thing and I’m not convinced we were given all the parts… I know my toddler is tall but this never would have worked for us. We also had an issue where the cleaning service had come in the morning (perfect!!) and then later in the early afternoon, while my toddler was taking a nap, they came 2 more times for unexplained reasons. It only happened one day so I’m sure it was an issue on their end. Also the outlets are very loose!! My phone charger fell out of the wall many times before I found an outlet that would work… But overall, we would stay here again!

Our stay at Alder Hotel Uptown New Orleans was a complete disappointment. It has now been almost two months, and we never received our $100 deposit back. Our bank confirmed the transaction was a charge, not a hold, exactly as I saw on the payment terminal the night receptionist used. At this point, it genuinely feels like the hotel simply took our money. To make things worse, they don’t solve anything. We tried contacting the hotel several times and they provided zero real solutions. Their communication is unprofessional and unhelpful. The room wasn’t any better — the beds sit on metal sheet bases that make loud noises with every movement, making it almost impossible to sleep comfortably. And what’s even more disappointing: they delete negative Google reviews to maintain a good rating. That alone says a lot about how they choose to handle customer complaints instead of actually fixing the issues. Our trip to New Orleans was amazing until we arrived at this hotel. The lack of professionalism, the unresolved deposit issue, the uncomfortable room, and their practice of hiding negative reviews make this one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. If you're considering booking here, don’t. There are many far better options in New Orleans. We will make sure to tell anyone who asks to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Impeccable service and very comfortable! Marlene and Mr. Quest make me feel right at home always! Can’t get any more personable and professional then them. They’re my dynamic duo! This is the only hotel I stay at when I stay in NOLA!

Been here for my last three NOLA visits and each time we are here it just seems to feel more like home. The desk staff is and have always been professional, courteous, and personable all at the same time. The security staff are well groomed, helpful, and inspire confidence in their ability to take care of whatever may come their way. And thus visit the Mardi Gras trees are absolutely stunning.

I travel and work at Ochsner Baptist so the location is perfect. The rooms are nice though the showers are flat with the floor so they tend to leak water into the bathroom if you do not put a towel next to the shower door. I have no other complaints. The lobby and rooms are modern and clean, the staff is friendly especially the valets, beds are comfortable, air works, and its quiet. Can't ask for more for a solo business traveler.

Quick stay but great stay. Pros: Check in was easy. Room was very efficient and VERY clean. Great curtains to keep it dark. Right next door to the hospital. Cons: They still use bedskirts. The noise from the hallway can be a bit loud.

This was our 2nd time staying here. The first time was great no problems however the 2nd time there was a puddle in the bathroom as if the toilet was leaking. We informed management and they apologized, changed our room and gave us goodie bag. She was soo nice and kept apologizing. I would definitely stay again.
