Memoir Residential in the Warehouse District offers a stylish and well-located experience in New Orleans, praised for its design, amenities, and friendly staff. However, recent reviews highlight recurring cleanliness concerns, noise issues, and inconsistent service levels.
I feel like I’ve shown up to a party and the host isn’t ready. The rooms are DIRTY. The dust is stacked high and so are the small black hairs ALL OVER the place including the bed. There are actually boogers on the wall and you can tell the shower has not been cleaned below knee height in quite some time because there is a film on the tiles. What a different reviewer said about the fan noise that goes all night is true. It blares in an alarm clock pattern on and off all night so one’s sleep is unavoidably punctuated. Not only is sleep punctuated by noise but also the HARDNESS of the mattress. I contemplated moving to the couch more than once. Also the staff is not friendly, polite sure but you would be hard pressed to get a “welcome in”, “good morning” or any other standard greeting from this staff. Some don’t look hygienic. I’m sad to say I have a few more days here.
Fabulous hotel / short stay place in New Orleans in quiet, aesthetic part of the city. Access to the club house (you do pay extra for this) was great - the pool area is so nice to hang out and order food and drinks in in and never got too busy. Service is more like a concierge for a short stay spot rather than a hotel but they were there when u had to check in late at 11pm and gave me my key very efficiently. The rooms are amazing - huge and with a nice living room area. V good showers. I would definitely go back and stay here if I was staying in NOLA again (and I hope I do).
I really wanted to rate Memoir better & to be clear this has to deal with the room itself and not the people. We encountered Brandon, Jay, Mr. Chester, & Kolby, River, Stephanie and Ari in Common House and they were all great! So helpful and so kind. Literally felt like they were friends within minutes of talking to them. I would come back to stay for them alone. The rooftop pool and view is beautiful. So comfy and serene! The gym is also really nice. There is a window there that makes working out an enjoyable experience. My issue was our room. First, upon entering there was a terrible smell, like a SEWAGE smell from what seemed like the pipes that show throughout the room. I reported this to Jay and asked him for some Lysol or something that would help and he assisted right away, which I so appreciate! Having to spray the room every 10-15 minutes we were in there really just took away from the relaxing I was expected to do on this trip though. ?? Next, I saw reviews on the tv and it didn’t bother me since I read you could cast from your phone but when we got there you can’t even cast anything to the tv. Almost like it’s there for show. It turns on and it’s a black screen. Lastly, it wasn’t as clean as it could be, by far. The couch in the living room appears spotty and the shower had a lot of debris in it as if it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests. I had to clean up myself. There are white towels which I love to see when lodging out because then you can ensure no stains are being hidden; however there were visible stains in the towels! Was pretty put off by that and disgusted. Overall, it was an okay stay in the room itself. I would give them another chance if we could be in another room that doesn’t rid of sewage smell and make sure towels and room has been cleaned to a decent degree.
This place is SO CUTE! Well decorated, clean, friendly staff. I stayed in the 1bd apt, it was nice having the small kitchen, washer/drier, and extra space. The decor in the rooms and throughout hotel is amazing and serves the vibes. There are several working spaces in the building to choose from, many that serve food/drinks. The only (very small) downsides is they don’t have a connected parking lot, but there is street parking or a surface parking lot a block away. The 2nd thing is there were no bars to hang towels on in the bathroom, which was odd. The gym is amazing. Full gym, large, well manicured, and lots of options for equipment. Within walking distance to some of the Mardi Gras parades too. I would 100% stay here again. Thanks Memoir!!
Hands down the best experience I have ever had at a hotel and I travel a lot for work and pleasure. The area was great and the hotel itself was immaculate. This place is a great spot for food, coffee and drinks. Also, Jessica is the best and the kind of person you do whatever to keep them on staff! Give Jessica all the praise you can give. She needs to manager and train everyone at this place. She was so welcoming, patient, and went out of her way to help me when my room key was having an issue in the elevator MULTIPLE times. Jessica was also just super polite in general and I could not ask for a better experience with someone working at an establishment like this. My stay was a 10 out of 10. Jessica is a 12 out of 10. I will absolutely be back to stay here.
This ruined hotels for me. For the same price as a standard hotel room, we stayed at Memoir Residential and had a beautifully furnished space with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a balcony. Everything felt intentional, wonderfully designed, spotless, and it smelled incredible the moment we walked in. The location is unbeatable. Walking distance to the convention center, plus great coffee shops and restaurants everywhere. Truly nothing we needed was more than a 10 minute walk away. The staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. We would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend. To note: it is kid-friendly, but the Common House is only for 18+
Needed to cancel a reservation made through a third-party partner on Booking.com and get a refund. The hotel had already done its part, and Jess went out of her way to send all the proof to Booking.com on my behalf. It is still pending on Booking.com’s side, but Jess absolutely deserves six stars for her help! Also, if you're reading this, this is your calling to book directly with the hotel rather than third party, especially not "Partner offer" on Booking.com!!!
Great location, beautiful place with wonderful amenities, but every single night, starting atapproximately 11pm, there was a very annoying vent noice coming from somewhere outside our apartment, which made it impossible to sleep well and get a proper rest. We would wake up a few times each night. Also, some reason we didn't have any nightstands, which is really inconvenient because we had to put everything on the floor; and the bedside lamp was missing a light bulb.
This place was AMAZING!! the concierge was always helpful and willing to answer questions and help, thanks Jessica. Thank you Ash for being a great bartender and being very attentive to everyone in front of you. The room was very clean and much better in person!. The heated pool was great, the decor around the common area was stunning. would love to stay again. Also, there is free parking around the area so you'll be fine at thus location!!
This is not really a hotel, and doesn’t offer the most basic hotel services. It’s an apartment building and social club that lets you rent apartments by the night. And while that is ok, you still need to make sure people are taken care of. You are not able to get the room cleaned other than once every 5 days (we asked they said no) or have the sheets changed even when ours were ripped. Also, it’s insanely loud. The building sits at a major intersection where on the weekends dudes come to hang out in lifted trucks until 1am. Avoid this place.
