Guests frequently praise the prompt valet service, the central location near the French Quarter, and the exceptional staff—particularly during the Winter Storm of 2025. However, reviews indicate significant issues with hidden fees, billing errors, inconsistent cleanliness, and erratic security behavior.
I would’ve given a better rating on the hotel if I would’ve had hot water. I was there five nights and had a cold shower every day. Other than that. It was a great experience. The staff was helpful the beds were super comfy.
This hotel has very disorganized management, no transparency, and extremely rude security staff. I would not recommend it to anyone—especially pet owners. We traveled with an emotional support dog and called the hotel in advance to confirm that our dog was allowed. During check-in, we clearly informed the front desk, provided all required documentation, and were explicitly told it was okay to stay. No one mentioned any pet-related fees at any point. However, after our stay, we were unexpectedly charged a $150 pet fee with zero prior notice. On top of that, the hotel later claimed that our dog barked continuously for five hours and charged us an additional $100 “inconvenience fee.” What’s unacceptable is that no one ever called, emailed, or notified us during the stay. When we questioned this, we were told the hotel “did not have our contact information.” If we had been informed, we would never have left our anxious dog in the room. This experience made it very clear that this is not truly a pet-friendly hotel, despite what they claim. The most disturbing incident happened at check-out. After we had already checked out and fully paid, a security guard physically blocked our way using his body and aggressively questioned whether we had paid. We felt harassed and intimidated, and we are still unsure whether this behavior was even legal. We returned to the lobby to speak with a manager, calmly explained the situation, and requested an apology for the inappropriate and unprofessional conduct. Instead, the staff refused to communicate, dismissed our concerns, and ordered us to leave the property immediately. Overall, this hotel shows: • No accountability • No clear communication • Poor handling of guests with pets • Aggressive and unprofessional security behavior This was a stressful, disrespectful, and unacceptable experience. Save yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere.
Checked in early which was good, was told to come back after 12 to get the wrist band, okay but why not give it to me when I checked in, I mean I have a room key. Then was told my 15 year old couldnt get one because she was a minor. Okay but everytime we walked in they asked who she was with. Wouldn't it have made more sense to give her one if they were going to question whenever she walked past. Plus there is a side entrance a room key we get you in and no one is there checking the wrist band. My wrist band was put on by their staff. I went upstairs to my room and it popped off, not once but 2 more times. I didn't go tell them, then I was walking and lost it. I went to the front desk, they wanted $25.00 for a replacement. This is nothing but a $.25 plastic band, still have to use the key card to get into the room. Instead of paying the additional $25, I just used the side entrance, there was no one there checking the bands so no need to pay the $25. Then we checked in Friday, house keeping came in Sat and Sun and never bothered to fill the body wash, so we had to use shampoo as body wash. And the took out the shower liner on Sat morning and never replaced it, not a big deal I just put the whole shower curtain in the shower. But they could pay attention to detail. I was not impressed with the stay. I came with a Travel group, which was awesome, but the hotel not so much. I will definitely be telling the travel host about the experience. I have spoken with several of others from the travel group and they have had similar incidents. I don't know if the travel host will use them again or not.
Hotel has hidden fees upon checking so double check prior to booking if you are “randomly selected” for an urban charge. Overall, hotel has all the qualities you would expect from a Hilton. Front counter staff can improve on their customer service. Most people checking in are tired and exhausted so they just want a nice smile and maybe a small cordial conversations. The manager is incredible she gave us a tour of the historic building.
Great location. Walkable to Bourbon St and Canal Street attractions. Rooms could definitely use an upgrade. Dingy carpets, dirty curtains, small rooms, toilet didn't flush properly then ran loud when it did flush for a minute. ? Location was the BEST part about this property. Nice workout room. Parking $52 valet but if your lucky you may find Street parking around the hotel (2hrs at a time) just be sure to take out all your belongings. I can say I didn't see any homeless persons outside. Trolley runs along the side so this can be heard at times but the trolley is also a great way to explore the city with a pickup one block away. The property is pet friendly but you have to walk a few blocks to find a place for your pet to potty. Overall a good stay just need room upgrades.
January 17-19 2026. Let's start with check in room was not ready upon arrival, staff called for housekeeping and a supervisor 3 times no response, staff was gone for the night and the room said in progress. Asked if they had a single room since my original room was a double corner room, was given another room with no view of city. The room did not smell fresh upon opening the door the floor was not vacuumed and the vents were dusty and dirty so they don't do hi low cleaning. For the price the room's should be top notch was not impressed have stayed in cheaper hotels and rooms were great. I do believe I was overcharged for my room. Hilton has gone down as far as room cleanest and all the extra fees. I will not stay at this location again in NOLA. But overall a great location close to everything and great walking distance to and from the hotel. Enjoyed my foodie trip!! P.S. room stayed cold would reach the set temperature and would not come back up.
Bed was a no go, but the service was incredible. KEVIN was always there to help thank you for hiring him as he completed most of my stay and made us feel right at home. I wish I would have gotten the name of the two LOVELY ladies that helped at the front desk as well. The amount of actual hospitality and love that came from inside your doors is soemthing I will carry for a life time
Not a good experience! Upon check-in, Balah, the night auditor, charged my Discover card $167. He then stated, “Oops, I’m sorry, Miss Lane, I charged you for the night.” This charge was completely unacceptable, as my stay had been fully paid for two months in advance. He explained that he was supposed to charge a $100 incidental hold but mistakenly charged me for the night and assured me the amount would be refunded. He also mentioned that he is new. While I understand being new, staff members handling guest check-ins should receive adequate training to prevent errors of this nature. This incident resulted in a very poor start to my stay. After entering my room, I discovered several additional issues. The floors throughout the room were extremely squeaky, and the tub/shower was visibly dirty and unsanitary. The condition of the bathroom was particularly concerning and did not meet the standards I expect from a Hilton property. I reported these concerns to Breion Stacker in Guest Services, specifically mentioning the grime on the shower faucet and handles, the dirty tub, and the squeaky floors. Despite these issues, I was never offered the option to change rooms. Instead, I was given two $10 vouchers for the gift shop or restaurant, with the limitation that only one voucher could be used at a time. This did not adequately compensate for being placed in a dirty room. I also informed her that I attempted to contact the front desk multiple times the night of check-in and again the following morning, but the line consistently rang busy. I showed her photos of the bathroom, and she acknowledged that it was not clean. Given this acknowledgment, I do not understand why we were not offered the opportunity to move to a clean room. Overall, this experience fell far below Hilton standards, and I am extremely disappointed in the handling of these issues.
I’m giving this hotel two stars because 1) Not please with the long wait at front desk they only had one worker while I was checking in and checking out , 2) if your aren’t a certain Hilton honors member you have to pay for the water bottles in your hotel room , will definitely proceed my stays at Marriott Properties because their bottles of water is complimentary . 3) this location did not send my check out receipt until the day after and charged my card over $200.00 the next day after I checked out when I specifically asked the young lady my balance and she told me $17.62 but yet charged me way more . Spoke with Shae , Shay , Shai how ever you spell it and she seem to may have fixed the problem but she shall see if the charge fall of my account the next few days . Property is nice but will never stay here again .
This was my first experience of deleting a review just to give it another shot, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure—though not the kind I was hoping for. My stay at the hotel was a mixed bag, and unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. Upon check-in, we were assigned Room 504, and the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a truly appalling sight: a dirty toilet festooned with little hairs. It was absolutely revolting. The bathtub, stained black from what looked like an ancient anti-slip mat, was in desperate need of a thorough scrubbing. Even after we had housekeeping come in, we found the same little hairs lingering, which made me wonder if they were using cleaning rags that had seen better days. Words can't fully capture my disappointment. But the misadventures didn’t stop there. The view from our room was a dismal alley featuring a rusted fireplace, which didn’t exactly scream “luxury getaway.” To add insult to injury, the TV welcomed us with messages meant for two other guests—“Ryan” and “Thomas”—and when I called the front desk to address the issue, the staff member sounded downright exasperated. Initially, my request to switch rooms was denied, even though my traveling companion received a different response. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the TV completely stopped working! It took until the next evening for us to finally be moved to a new room, which, thankfully, was clean, boasted a functioning TV, and offered a much better view. The hotel itself is in a prime location—close enough to Bourbon Street for a good time, yet distanced enough to escape the chaos. However, our troubles didn’t end there. At checkout, we discovered we had been overcharged by roughly $20, but after a few hours at home, I managed to sort that out. Between the filth, the privacy breach, the lackluster service, the broken TV, and that dismal alley view, I can confidently say this was an unmitigated disaster. Do yourself a favor: avoid this hotel at all costs if you value a pleasant stay!
