The Barnett is a stylish boutique hotel in a prime New Orleans location, known for its vintage-inspired decor, lively bar scene, and proximity to popular attractions. While guests frequently praise the staff and overall ambiance, some experiences have been marred by issues with room features, service inconsistencies, and billing errors.
A boutique hotel in a Chic part of town. Location wise is great proximity to most of the places you want to go in New Orleans, Bourbon Street, Garden District, Convention Hall, the Art Museum. The staff is out of this world! Kind, attention to detail and sincere. The plus are all the great lounges, restaurants, and bars associated with this hotel. Makes it easy to just walk 2 minutes to Seaworthy and Salon Salon. I highly recommend The Barnett!
Celebrated my 50th bday in New Orleans! This is my second time staying at this beautiful hotel & will not be my last. Everything was clean & staff are very friendly! Had an issue with valet parking my car which got booted twice so that was a little inconvenient. The hotel took care of the charges & it we still had an amazing time on our stay. Special shout out to Tyler the bartender, he was awesome & makes the best hurricanes we have ever tasted!
Beautiful building/interiors and the place feels cozy when you stay in. A lovely place for sure. I stayed here over the weekend and originally booked a king room with a patio. Check-in went well, and Justin at the front desk helped us get the right room. Later that night, we realized the thermostat wasn’t working. A staff member came to check it and confirmed it was not functional, and I was told I would need to change rooms. Around midnight, I went to the front desk and was told the only available option was a standard room with two queen beds. Since there were no other choices at that time, we had to move. Other than the staff member who checked the thermostat, there was no word for the inconvenience from front desks or manager. There was also no explanation about compensation or how the price difference would be handled. I paid $300 per night for a king room with a patio but ended up in a regular room with no mention of any adjustment. The property itself is nice, but the lack of communication and follow-up made the experience disappointing.
The room is odd in an entertaining way. The phone is on the wall in a corner (see picture) and we didn’t see it the first night. I get why, it’s an old building. There’s an entire fridge (green Smeg) in our room. There’s a kettle, which made my day bc I love starting my day with tea. But there’s no outlet near the kettle so it’s now in the bathroom. The shower is European style, meaning that half glass thing that no American knows how to manage without getting water all over the floor. Those should be banned on this side of the world. I don’t understand why Europe likes them so much. And there’s no fan in the shower/toilet room. But there’s a vent. Which means maybe there’s a switch hidden (like the odd placement of the phone). And I was able to ask for the makeup mirror and robes. And the fixtures in the room are nice. The lighting is wonderful. The marble bathroom counter I want to steal and take home. And someone painted the armoire. It’s a good room. Everyone who works in the Barnett is an absolute delight. Lovely, lovely people. Nice, chatty, friendly. Great gym. Cool bars downstairs. We’re here for our anniversary and they brought us wine. Which was a really sweet, unexpected gesture that we will enjoy tonight.
This was hands down the worst hotel experience of my life, and I’ve seen roadside motels with fewer amenities and higher standards. . Save your money, save your sanity, and stay literally anywhere else—even your car would be an upgrade. I had no night light in the room due to broken button and asked for one multiple times. Can you imagine no light? Well I stayed in it for 2 nights. I eventually had to call corporate, and even they said they didn’t understand why this hotel doesn’t follow company rules. Corporate called the hotel while I was on the phone and they dont even obey the corporates requests. They assured me there would be an investigation on their end.The front desk manager was a straight-up liar and completely ridiculous. But yall should have heard their lies, %100 performance just the shallow one. My vacation is RUINED !!!! Thanks to this people. Hyatt??? Never again. They just lost a huge population of high payer customers.
I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Smoothie Center. Some things to note There is a deposit. I was unaware of this when booking. I did get it back but that would have been nice to know ahead of time. This hotel is swanky with a bar, a restaurant and even a little nightclub. The rooftop pool and bar was gorgeous. I wish I brought my swimsuit. The room was beautiful with comfy beds. Very clean. My only complaint is the hot water never really got hot. I believe that's pretty standard for hotels however for the price of the room, a hot shower isn't too much to ask. Check in was at 3pm but our room wasn't ready when we got there.? I won't stay here again but the experience wasn't bad.
Booked a staycation here for one night with my husband and infant. Our room was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. Great location: walk to a concert at Lafayette square, walk to the French quarter, or take the streetcar uptown. Excellent dining options: we had a drink at the lobby bar, coffee in the morning, and dinner at Seaworthy restaurant. All excellent quality. Seaworthy is just as good if not better than when it opened years ago!

The hotel to stay at in NOLA! Within walking distance to the French quarter and garden district. Not too far from the party but quiet enough to sleep amazingly. I was impressed with how stylish the rooms were, everything about the hotel including its restaurants were beautiful. Definitely enjoyed the popcorn happy hour. Keep in mind you do have to pay for valet but you won’t really need your car. Amazing service! I wish I would’ve asked for more of the complimentary amenities.
Currently in bed here now, the morning of checkout, after a 2 day stay. I absolutely LOVE this hotel. The location is perfect. It's right on the streetcar line which makes getting around town so much easier. We didn't use our vehicle at all while here. The staff, so nice. The valet guys, the front desk staff, the bartenders...all so cheerful and kind and really wonderful. The hotel...BEAUTIFUL. Better than expected, the pictures don't do it justice. It's gorgeous. It's got dark and moody and vintage but modern vibes. I really like it. Great art too. Tastefully done. Even the lighting fixtures are unique and cool. My favorite part, a comfy bed. It has light up motion sensors in the base! Very cool. The black tile shower, really awesome. Great view as we face the street. Fully stocked mini bar options and drinks-with a price list. They even have a instant tea Kettle! The prices were really fair for the room as well. Overall 5/5 plus more. This will be my spot to stay every time we come to New Orleans. Fun extra note- apparently the bar/club here downstairs is very popular. On Halloween night it was so packed and there was a huge costume party. Not just guests of the hotel, but anyone and it was neat.
