The Holiday Inn Chateau LeMoyne - French Quarter offers a prime location in the heart of New Orleans, providing convenient access to the French Quarter and surrounding attractions. While many guests appreciate the friendly staff, historic charm, and overall convenience, recurring issues with room cleanliness, outdated amenities, and inconsistent service emerge from recent reviews.
Staff was very welcoming and helpful, and location was great. Due to flight delays we checked in about 1:00am. The valet offered to take our 2 bags but seeing the elevator close by, I said I would handle it. Little did I know that in order to get to our room we had to climb 5 stairs and then go down another set of 5, with our bags, to our upgraded room. Did I mention my wife and I are 79 years old? Opening the door to our room (#303), our first impression was dashed when we saw "the couch" mentioned in other reviews. See the picture, it speaks for itself. We decided to stick it out rather than go thru the trouble to get another room the next day.
An older hotel, definitely 3 stars but great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Small dark rooms with rather worn carpet and bathrooms. Shared balcony. Location is probably the best thing going. Excellent restaurant, at least the club sandwich was great.
I rarely post reviews, but this hotel and the staff was beyond my expectations. We were greeted by the happiest kindest most helpful person named Neisha (I really hope I spelled that right). She explained how to walk to all the main tourist spots, suggested an amazing pizza place for my kids, she explained all of the hotel benefits. The hotel has a cute little resturant attached to it which was delicious and a nice heated pool and is super clean and conveniently located. We will be returning to this hotel on our next trip to New Orleans. Seriously 10/10
Fantastic! As an IHG member I wanted to stay at one of their properties but it's New Orleans so I wanted the charm of a classic old hotel. So when the app showed me this it was a lock! Valet parking that is very helpful and fast, not to mention right up front. And they can handle larger vehicles as well. We have a big SUV and I saw 1 ton pickups in their lot. Everyone working there was EXTREMELY friendly and they remembered my name. Even people I had not worked with walked by and called me by name. Now that's a team that's on point. Our room had a shared balcony, it was very charming and yet modern at the same time. The courtyard with pool is beautiful. I can't say enough about this hotel. Would stay here again and again.
Rooms where nice and clean. Location was great for what we wanted to do which was for a wedding at the hotel. Where the problems lies is with management, particularly the day manager sarena. The hotel book a large fraternity gathering the same weekend and put the frat kids on same floor with wedding party. Every night the were supposed young adukt throwing parties in the rooms, running down hallway, puking in the hallways. When trying to address with management there was nothing from them but what seems to aggrevation on their part. Won't be staying there again
Diamond Elite member here, so this reflects service at the highest loyalty tier and raises concerns about how non-status guests may be treated. - Room was not ready until around 5:30 pm, well past check-in time, with housekeeping delays cited but no clear ETA provided. Don’t forget - this is adjusting for the fact that I got a priority check-in. - There was no housekeeping service at all during the stay despite multiple requests. - The room (creole suite) was spacious but oddly laid out, with a long rectangular design, no real view, and an awkward corner-unit feel. - Late checkout (status perk) felt less flexible than expected; I received a 1 pm checkout, but given the delayed check-in, I had hoped for more accommodation. They say everything is subject to availability so it’s hard to contest this one. - Takeout packaging was disappointing, with hot food served in styrofoam that partially melted, made the food unappetizing, and felt unsafe, forcing most of it to be discarded. What worked well: - The location was good and convenient. Stone throw distance from action! - The room upgrade was appreciated and resulted in a nicer room than originally booked. - Café staff were excellent!!!! from the bartender to the waitstaff, everyone was attentive, professional, and genuinely pleasant. - The amenity kit was better than what I’ve received at comparable properties. - The Bevi water machine was a nice touch and consistently stocked with glasses, making refills easy and convenient.
We stayed for 4 days between Christmas and the New Year. Overall, great hotel. Staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Concierge was quite helpful in suggesting things to do. The room was mostly comfortable and clean. The shower water took forever to warm up and the water pressure is really bad. Our mattress was horrible, saggy and uneven. Although there were many pillows, none were firm enough and I ended up with a sore neck for the duration. I thought we would be quieter, because we were off Bourbon, but that was a wrong assumption! If you want quiet do not stay on the street side. It is not worth the extra money! Restaurant on site was good for breakfast. The biggest plus was convenience of the location with most everything being close and easy to walk to.
Tough space simply because of location. It is valet only parking at $50 per night which is not included in price! The halls of the hotel were dirty but once we got into the room, it was very nice! Bed was great, furniture was upscale. Bathroom does not have a bathtub but that was fine with me! The shower was very nice. Overall, a very decent hotel.
Great place! The location is one block from Bourbon Street but quiet. It's a very cool historic building and we loved the turtle pond. The staff were all great especially the concierge and the Valets. Our only complaint was the shower with no curtain or door that a few hotels are going to now, it puts too much water on the bathroom floor.
Exceptional location! Established older building but has a luxury feel. There is a beautiful pool and spiral staircase available as a secondary form of travel between floors. A friendly concierge, an atm and connected but not affiliated restaurant are great amenities. The bellhop/ valet team are incredibly friendly and hard working. My rating is based on the counter service, we were greeted with the most unwelcoming guest service representative. She spoke to us like she was reading off a script. And any questions from check in to check out would cut us off mid sentence. While I value a sense of urgency this was more like pushing me off, I felt like a total nuisance. Such a shame because it wasnt just one it was both ladies at different times, for such a beautiful and pretty perfect location bad customer service breaks what shouldve been a 5 star rating. Additionally we never got turn down service during our stay even after requesting and speaking to the housekeeping staff to advise our away times. Other than that please know this location is fantastic and the rooms are damp but clean enough, beds are very uneven and slightly uncomfortable but the balcony makes up for the outdated rooms. Comfortable walking distance to Bourban to party, the french quarter to shop and Canal Street to hop on the cable cars! Noise level wasnt too bad for being in a busy area. Microwaves available in the vending machine areas.
