The Holiday Inn Club Vacations New Orleans Resort receives mixed reviews, with a prime location near Bourbon Street and the French Quarter being a major highlight. However, significant issues with room cleanliness, inconsistent AC performance, aggressive timeshare presentations, and occasional staffing shortages detract from the overall experience. Recent reviews highlight difficulties with check-in procedures and guest communication.

The service here was horrible! We are expected by companies to check out by a certain time or get charged but no expectations of a company when they don’t provide a room by the given check in time? Check in was at 4. We got there to learn that our room wasn’t even cleaned yet. After 45 mins of waiting in the lobby we followed up with the front desk to ask when we’d get our room only to find out “oh your rooms been ready they just forgot to relay the information”. We get the key go up to our room and then see pizza boxes everywhere, about 20 dirty wet towels thrown on the floor, beds a mess, so we walk out and back downstairs (mind you we’re a family of 6 with a ton of luggage to be lugging around). Get downstairs and the front desk acts shocked that the room wasn’t cleaned. They kind of pace and go back to this room where at a point of 20 mins all front desk staff disappears. Finally a staff member comes out and tells us “oh the cleaning crew has walked out and we have no one to clean the rooms, but I assure you I’m going to go up and help clean the rooms”. Mind you when we went up the first time to our “room” we saw about 3 cleaning people on the floor 2 girls who had personal belongings on them (purse, snacks, could’ve possibly been on break) and even made a comment of “what are they doing up here?” Even a gentleman pushing a big cart to collect towels etc was puzzled and staring at us when we walked by and we made a comment that our room was dirty, he asked which one and we told him and he just shook his head. We ran into 3 cleaning members on that floor which was so odd. It’s about an hour since GIVEN CHECK IN TIME and our family is still standing in the lobby, we’ve had to cancel reservations to go eat, see the city and all we’d been offered was 2 rooms instead of 1 ( we have 4 kids), and 2 drink vouchers (we are on a family trip what are 2 free drinks going to do for our inconvenience). They briefly mentioned refunding our room which was absolutely scary to think we had no room in such a city! Finally almost an hour and a half later they give us a room key and we get to a separate floor than the first one and all is well. This was such a horrible experience and we saw people coming and going checking in and out no problems. We were kind and patient and think that that was taken advantage of since we weren’t angrily yelling at the staff or demanding a room aggressively. If we are told we will be charged extra for “late check outs” (which we didn’t), why shouldn’t the same expectation be in place for us not having a responsive staff when room was just ignored and not prepared for arrival.

If you want to explore New Orleans, you could not pick a better location. We walked out the door and two blocks down to the left it becomes Bourbon Street at the Canal Street intersection where you can catch the trolley right outside of the hotel as well as off Canal. We called in for a late check-in and were greeted by Sennet, Who instantly became our friend for the weekend. Jan(I hope I spelled that right) was security while we were there at night and he was kind enough to escort myself my daughter out to Canal Street when a few locals we’re looking a little shady(to be expected in a big city at times) and we were treated like queens from the staff at this resort!

Location, location, location. The concierge is a nice additive. Great service, very friendly staff, they great you every time like they have known you for months. My only complaint is that they have free washer and dryers to use but they didn’t tell us that there are several hours that staff is using them and they are unavailable. For planning purposes it would have been nice to know, but they are free so it is hard to complain.

This resort is the perfect way to experience New Orleans! Having a full kitchen and a separate living area made such a difference for our stay—it felt like having a luxury apartment right in the heart of the city. Everything was spotless, modern, and very well-maintained. It’s the perfect spot for families or anyone who wants a little more space than a standard hotel room. 5 stars for the comfort and convenience!

The location is great and the room was very clean and spacious. Mrs. Sue is one of the nicest and most helpful employee at this hotel. I never received a call or text when the room was ready. I was never informed that I had to talk to "concierge" aka sales people to get my room key. I was charged a $50 tour fee althought the sales people said I would not be charged and the email showed $0. I had to keep calling the hotel and tour desk to remove this fee (going in loops). I would have given this hotel 5 stars, but the vacation resort situation was an issue. I'll stay with Marriott.

Stayed here with a 4 day/3 night deal since I’m an IHG member. With a tour received 199$. We did not buy into the vacation club and the presentation took 2 hours. The room location right by bourbon street and canal street. Everything was walkable or a trolley ride away. The room was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We did bring a twin air mattress. The people at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. Loved the carry out across the street.. good coffee in the morning.

Some rooms at this location are great. Some are terrible. We had a terrible room. No view. The ice in the refrigerator was bouncing everywhere. Old furniture inside. We were very disappointed. The folks working there were extra nice and helped us anyway they could. The location was outstanding. Bourbon Street and the French Quarter are less than a 5 minute walk. The people that we met were all nice and polite. There is a lot to do and we only did about half of it. We'll go back. I just hope we get a better room.

Great Stay , just 2 issues ! We had a really great stay at the Holiday Inn Resort in New Orleans. The location is hard to beat , it’s right next to Bourbon Street and within easy walking distance of the French Quarter, which made it perfect for experiencing Mardi Gras without worrying about transportation. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. We stayed in Room 712, which was very spacious and family-friendly. Although I had booked a king bed and received a queen instead, it worked out fine because the room included a large sofa bed that was perfect for kids. The suite-style layout had plenty of storage space, including multiple closets (a coat closet, shoe closet, and bathroom storage), which made unpacking and organizing easy. The living room and dining area both had TVs, and the large kitchen counter space made the room feel ideal for families who want to cook or entertain during their stay. A thoughtful touch was the hotel staff calling to check in and make sure we liked the room , great customer service. The RFID wristband room key was also very convenient since we didn’t have to carry traditional key cards. The hotel amenities were nice as well. There’s a terrace with a small pool that’s open to guests, and the valet service was excellent. We also appreciated being able to store our luggage in the cloakroom after checkout so we could explore the city a bit more. There were only two minor drawbacks. The room did not have blackout shades, so the morning sunlight naturally wakes you up. Also, the toilet in the bathroom flushed slowly and took time to refill, which could be improved. The bathroom itself, however, was a good size and otherwise comfortable. Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay with friendly staff, spacious rooms, and an unbeatable location. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit New Orleans.

Stayed here through a timeshare from a family member. Overall it was a great experience I am taking a star off for a couple of minor things I would normally give 3 stars for these but I didnt ask for them to be corrected. First I dont think could be corrected but the beds here are horrible they might has well just been boards they were so hard only 6 inch mattresses on a box spring not comfortable at all after a long day of walking. The second was the AC being locked at no lower then 68 is really horrible and then the AC was making a loud clicking noise the whole time. Last the shower head isnt great it soaks you just to turn it on no way to avoid it and it has very limited control and is hard to shower with. The good things is the room was really well laid out everyone was super friendly and kind and it was a great trip

Really disappointed in the Holiday Inn. We arrived exhausted after traveling all day with a baby, when we checked in, we were ushered over to another desk to a man who tricked us into signing up for a walk through of the hotel in the hopes we would buy a timeshare SCAM! The sign up process took forever, our son needed to have a nap and they wouldn’t give us the keys for what felt like forever. On the day, we didn’t attend so they charged us $50 plus taxes. We stayed for 5 nights, only needing parking for two, they tried to charge us $50 a night for parking for all five nights. Drinks at the bar were ridiculously priced. The water from the Kitchen taps made us all sick, bottled water at the convenience store in the lobby was expensive for little bottles. Extra fee’s were applied for the hotel having washing machines etc. The only two good things about the place was the location and Mrs Sue helping us at departure and being kind to our son.
