Front desk staff not too friendly. They'll answer your questions but it's not a very welcoming vibe. I asked for a good place to eat as we had a long drive and were hungry. There was no personal recommendation just a list of restaurants. Parking is $40/night plus tax in an unsecured parking lot! The room itself was a tight fit and the floor of the bathtub looked questionable. I placed down a towel just in case. Not sure how the breakfast is but I'll update accordingly. **Update** Breakfast (what I served myself) was good. The juice was terrible. You can literally see the water coming out intermittently to water it down...and I don't like sweet juice. This was just flat out flavored water. All other staff members I've encountered have been super friendly.

Would give zero stars if I could! I tried to book via phone several times and the employees kept hanging up in my face. We were checked into a dirty room and not one apology was offered. There was fruit water in the lobby during my entire stay. Oranges were completely dried up and at the bottom of the bowl. According to other guests that water had been there and not replaced all throughout Mardi gras. I've been staying in hotels my entire life and I have never experienced this level of inconsideration. Top it all off they tried to run my card for $10 this morning. Why? Still waiting for a manager to contact me though not hopeful. Please avoid this location if you want to keep your sanity!

My stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful, and a huge part of that was thanks to Ms Ruby and Charmaine. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable and stress-free, and their positive attitudes truly made a difference. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and relaxing, but the exceptional customer service really stood out.Ms Ruby and Charmaine were attentive, patient, and always ready to help with a smile. They made me feel valued as a guest, not just another reservation. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a great stay with outstanding service. Thanks again to Ms Ruby and Charmaine for making my visit such a pleasant experience—I’ll absolutely be back!

I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering staying here. The level of disappointment I felt was unreal. This was my first time in New Orleans, and unfortunately, this hotel left a very bad impression. From the moment we walked toward our room, there was a strong smell of urine mixed with weed throughout the hallway. When we finally entered the room, the wood flooring was coming apart, and the bathroom shower had visible mold in the tub. The room clearly had not been properly cleaned in quite some time. At first, I tried to reassure myself that at least the bed would be clean until I pulled back the sheets and found someone else’s hair all over them. Dirty hotel sheets are an absolute nightmare and completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise against staying here unless you are comfortable sleeping in unsanitary conditions, instead save yourself the disappointment and some money and stay at another holiday inn outside of the city, 15 minutes makes a world of difference in quality.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for six nights. I had originally booked a Queen room, but upon arrival I requested an upgrade to a King and the front desk accommodated the request at no extra charge — a great start. The room itself was comfortable — nothing particularly extraordinary — but the bed quality and overall sleep experience were very good. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and courteous. The included breakfast was a standout compared to many hotels in this price range. It was a full hot breakfast with omelets, eggs, bacon, sausages, yogurt, fruit, a selection of breads and pastries, jams, and tea/coffee — much more than the standard cereal-and-banana offering you often see. Location-wise, the hotel is in the Warehouse District, about a 15-minute walk to Bourbon Street and the downtown core. We found this ideal: close enough to the action without paying the premium to stay right in the French Quarter. The World War II Museum is just steps away, and the St. Charles streetcar stops right outside, offering easy access to the Garden District and beyond. Overall, a very good stay offering strong value for the price — comfortable rooms, great breakfast, and a convenient location. Would happily stay again.

I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express St. Charles in New Orleans. What truly made this hotel special was the staff — they treated everyone like family and went out of their way to accommodate guests to the best of their abilities. Their kindness, patience, and genuine care really stood out and made the stay feel welcoming and stress-free. (Not what I expected with this being my first time in New Orleans) The hotel was clean and comfortable, with a convenient location. The rooms were well maintained, and the complimentary breakfast was a great bonus. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel, especially because of the amazing staff. Shout Terry!

?I am writing this review to warn others about the unacceptable conditions and service during my recent stay. ?The problems were significant and primarily related to sanitation and comfort: ?The sheets on the bed in the initial room had lipstick marks on them, indicating they were not properly changed. ?The water in the shower never got warm throughout my stay. ?When I asked to be moved, the replacement room the desk offered looked like it may have had fleas, forcing me to stay in the original, dirty room. ?The towels provided were crunchy and crusty. ?On top of the severe room issues, the desk clerk refused to honor the military discount I requested, claiming the reason was that the Saints had a game. This is unprofessional and unacceptable service.

While is a bit far to walk from to get to the French quarter, there is easy accessibility to public transportation. I booked this room last minute, around 7pm and was checked in immediately upon arrival. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and friendly, which made us feel welcomed. She even asked us questions about ourselves while we waited for her to finish. The room was located on the first floor which was easy to get navigate to. The ice machine, however is on the second floor on the other side of the building which was a bit confusing. There is a small outdoor patio with two tables and chairs that is directly next to the road but behind a wall. The room itself was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a bit dirty in some areas. I requested a wake up call but when we got to the room, there wasn’t a phone in sight. We didn’t stay for breakfast but the breakfast area was neat and tidy for the night. I’ll give this another try.

I was delighted! Arrived late from the train station, everything was ready for me and I was pleased with the accommodation and amenities, which were clean and tasteful.. There was a generous breakfast buffet and the woman at the front desk was friendly and extremely helpful. She arranged to have my luggage brought down, called for a taxi, and even brought my bags to the cab. As an older traveler, I really appreciated her kindness. Since this was a brief stay, I chose this hotel as a budget accommodation. It far exceeded my expectations.

This was by far the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights here for bayou classic weekend. Before arriving i called to get confirmation on how much the security deposit would be and I was told it was $50 PER STAY. Being that I had 2 rooms, I should’ve been charged $100. Upon arriving and checking in, the woman who checked me in told me that it would be $100 per night for the security deposit, meaning that i would’ve had to pay $400 for 2 rooms and 2 nights. She then told me she would only charge me for 1 room and not 2 as if she was doing me a favor. After this I was told we had to pay for parking as well which was $40 per night. I had 2 vehicles so that was an extra $160 out of pocket i was told I had to pay. She charged me the $200 for the security deposit and told me i could pay for parking when i came back inside to bring me bags. Not to mention the parking lot is behind the hotel. When I went outside to get my bags I remembered calling and being told that the deposit was $50 per stay so I went back inside and brought it to her attention. There was another woman at the desk helping someone else check in and overheard me telling her this and she told her that the security deposit was indeed $50 per stay. She then took over and looked at my rooms and what I was charged and told the other lady that she had overcharged me and I was only supposed to be charged $100. I asked her about waiving the parking fees since i had been charged more than what I was supposed to originally and she did. All of this happened before I even made it into my room. Finally once I parked and gathered my things to enter my room, we got there and noticed multiple things were broken, the room was dirty, the bathroom was horrible, our shower had dirt, black marks and hair in it, there were scuffs and marks all on the wall, parts of the floor were broken that i kept tripping over my entire stay. On top of that, the 2nd room that my mother stayed in had a wheelchair accessible shower and not a regular one. When she asked to be put in a different room she was told there weren’t any. Her bathroom was disgusting as well. The drain in the shower was so nasty and brown, it was hair everywhere, the carpet in the room was dirty, the door handle was as broken. We went to the front desk and asked about the room being cleaned and they gave us a bottle of bleach and spray and we had to clean our rooms ourselves! Later on in the night we had to ask for more towels because we had used them all to clean the room, while i was showering i noticed long brown hair tangled in the towel i was bathing with!! On top of that the water pressure was horrible and it did not get hot at all! It was barely lukewarm! On the 2nd night I went to ask for more towels and was told they didn’t have any. This overall stay was a complete nightmare! The rooms are disgustingly dirty, almost everything is broken in the room, the hallways are nasty, the dining area wasn’t clean either and throughout all this no manager was available to help or accommodate us in anyway. The woman who workings during the morning was so friendly and greeted us everytime we came downstairs or entered the building but we received none of this with the night shift. Please stay far away from this hotel, despite the area it’s in and being close to everything(which is why i booked it in the first place). 0/10 i will never stay at this hotel again.
