Situated in New Orleans' Central Business District, the Catahoula Hotel is celebrated for its intimate, character-filled atmosphere and friendly staff, serving as an elevated alternative to larger chains. Guests praise the vibrant, walkable location and authentic New Orleans charm, though the historic building presents some inconsistent room conditions and noise issues.
Lovely experience, great atmosphere and I felt safe traveling. I got a room and it was perfect, the shower was super nice and seeing the exposed brick and having windows that opened was so nice! All staff were super friendly and helpful! I’ll absolutely stay here again!
Great location in the heart of the central banking district. Close access to street cars and naturally anywhere you'd want to go. My room was cozy and awesome. Great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. When I come back to New Orleans I'll be coming here again!
The Catahoula Hotel is hands down one of the best boutique hotel experiences in New Orleans. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was spot on. Stylish, intimate, and full of character without feeling overdone. The design is modern with a nod to classic New Orleans charm, and every detail feels intentional. The front desk host Jonny was absolutely incredible. Super helpful, communicative, and genuinely welcoming. He went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and made us feel right at home. That level of personal attention is rare and truly sets this place apart. The location is perfect, close enough to the French Quarter to walk everywhere, but just far enough to avoid the chaos when you’re ready to relax. Amazing walkability to restaurants, bars, and live music. You can step out and be in the heart of the city in minutes. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel that feels authentic, elevated, and personal, Catahoula is it. Would absolutely stay here again!
This was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. My boyfriend and I stayed here over New Year’s to be able to join in the NOLA festivities. The location was a perfect 15 minute walking distance from the French Quarter, and there were plenty of activities and restaurants even closer than that. The hotel itself was quaint and aesthetic, with a unique overlapping floor plan that played into the old New Orleans vibe. Our room was the perfect size for two people, small but cozy with everything we needed for an overnight stay. FYI, the shower is in the room itself, almost like a college dorm, so open a window when you shower unless you want to walk back into a fog cloud with unusable mirrors. We also had a balcony with a city view and a table and chairs that we enjoyed watching some fireworks from. Every employee that we talked too was incredibly gracious and accommodating, reminding us multiple times to let them know if we needed anything at all. Only downside is the parking. We ended up spending over $100 for one night since we had to park in public parking on a major holiday. Overall, an absolutely amazing stay in the heart of New Orleans.
Great location and friendly staff. Awesome vibe. Our room matched what we expected from the pictures. The room was a little scant on amenities: there was no iron, mini-fridge, or coffee maker, but we knew that when we booked it. It would have been nice to have some hangers for the clothing rod, and nightstands for the bed would have been helpful too. The common area was a nice spot to hang out and the coffeepot in the lobby was always well-stocked.
Staying for a week at Catahoula was a great experience. The hotel is super conveniently located in New Orleans's CBD, allowing to walk to all of the city center. The building and interior's space is really nice and chill, in striking contrast to the surrounding area. The room was clean and confortable and the private terrasse was a nice addition. It was quiet at night except occasionally due to other noisy guests. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive, and responded to all my requests with the utmost care. All in all, a specially great hotel, and at an affordable price. Thank you Catahoula!
I ended up renting the 1 bedroom apt and got exactly what I was hoping for. A spacious room with a great living area and a balcony. The price point was perfect and the staff was very welcoming and kind (with the interactions I had with them). I will most definitely stay at this establishment again. Thank you for a great little getaway experience. Oh tons of great little cafes and restaurants all in walking distance as well.
The suite we stayed in was beautiful! The bed and pillows were top notch and sooooo comfortable. Location was perfect. Walking distance to the French quarter. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!
I feel like i uncovered a hidden gem! I can’t even put into words how much I loved the Catahoula.. it’s definitely my new favorite. The staff is just amazing all around. The hotel stays true to new orleans design and the history of the building can still be seen in it. Location is on point for whatever u have planned. Minutes from the Dome and minutes from the quarter. Park your car and walk wherever you need to go. The room was comfortable and just right for what we needed. Again i can’t brag enough about the wonderful staff and the manager is awesome. I highly recommend! Ps: i was there for a concert w a friend but this hotel would also make for a great romantic getaway for a couple! Its just so quaint and the vibes are so good.
Booked the nicest room which we were told there were 3 of and two were out of order. Ours was designed terribly although spacious. The Pisco Bar was closed which when we stayed here a few years ago was a delight. If you want a place with a great location that won't break the bank this is still a great hotel. But if you haven't been in a while, don't expect the same experience and certainly don't splurge for their "better" rooms.
