Guests overwhelmingly praise the hotel's excellent location near the St. Charles streetcar and Garden District restaurants, consistently citing quiet surroundings and walkability. While the general staff receives high praise for friendliness and efficiency, several recent guests report significant issues with room cleanliness, outdated furnishings, HVAC malfunctions, and inflexible cancellation policies during storms.

Was a little disappointed with the room. AC wouldn’t cool properly. Tub was heavily stained. Breakfast was not good. No water other than a frozen block of ice and I guess you’re supposed to wait until it melts. Same fake eggs and bad sausage. No warmers for the coffee cups so had to waste another cup. Hopefully was just an off time. I’d try them again.

This place a hidden gem when it comes to staying in NOLA. The rooms are always clean and the location is great. It is quiet and right on the trolly line. It is a safe place to walk and get dinner and there are good restaurants all very close. The best part about this hotel though is it's staff. Everyone there is absolutely amazing and so welcoming and friendly. I have stayed here twice now on work trips and this last time Letrice and D'Wanda helped me out in a huge way! Thank you ladies!

The staff is great. They have a limited breakfast. They had a western omelet one morning, I asked if she could make one, only cheese, because I don't eat pork. She said no. The parking is $20/day, we didn't know. Look b4 you reserve. There's hotels with free parking.

My first time in New Orleans was a wonderful and exciting experience. This hotel is where I stayed and it was the perfect place for me and mom to crash after the 7 hour drive from Bossier city. The staff were professional, the beds were comfortable and a greeting with my name on it as well as views of New Orleans were on the television. This will be my hotel if I visit New Orleans again. ??

This is a GREAT place to stay in New Orleans! Fantastic location, clean, quiet, nice hot breakfast, and a pleasant staff! Its location is so close to the Saint Charles streetcar stop – it is so convenient to use the trolley to get around for $3/day. The ride is only about 15 minutes to get to the heart of the city. There are also a lot of eateries close by. The inn is well kept by housekeeping, and we could not hear any outside noise. The room has a mini-fridge and microwave; there is also paid parking available. Special thanks to Antonette at the front desk who took care of us. We were early for our check-in, and she found us a room readily available. She also said the Mardi Gras parade is right in front of the hotel. Highly recommend Hampton Inn – New Orleans – St. Charles Ave./Garden District.

We visited last weekend to attend my daughter’s wedding. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel & their accommodations. Everyone was super friendly & welcoming! The rooms were nice & seemed updated. They definitely could use some drawers in the rooms for clothes storage. But besides that we had everything we needed. Loved the extra security & paid parking behind the hotel. Very convenient! We will definitely stay again when in NOLA. Thanks!

My family and I stayed one night and were pleased with everything overall. In the very early hours, one of our beds broke. It was slanted like a piece of playground equipment. My child slept in the floor the rest of the night and my husband slept on the top of the “slide” trying not to roll down and off. Maintenance came to check it out. They told us we would get a refund. I hope we do. Overall it was a great hotel, great location and kind staff.

Perfect location. We loved being on the streetcar line and took the streetcar to the French Quarter. As usual, Hamptons have the worst breakfast of hotels in this category. Our two rooms were great with only one problem. The fans in both bathrooms are super loud and cannot be separate from the light. Ironically, they also seem to have zero function as no moisture was pulled out of the room despite the jet engine sound. The staff members were great, and the parking was convenient and not too expensive.

From the minute we walked in the doors until we left, everyone was very friendly. Took the time to answer questions and help us with anything we needed. The rooms were comfortable and immaculately clean. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just steps from the St Charles streetcar line and has some of the cheapest parking in New Orleans. All in all a great place.

Just got back from a three night stay at this hotel with my husband and two young children. I read over reviews of hotels extensively and decided against staying in the downtown area. We were very happy with the location in the garden district, but I am surprised by how many good reviews there are of this hotel. The rooms are pretty dated, and for a family of four, the two queen bed room was very cramped. There are no dressers and it looked like our stuff was every where because there was no where to put things. The bedding, curtains and furniture all had stains and looked weathered and worn out. The shower curtain was very worn and had holes in it. It helped that we spent very little time in our room, otherwise it would have been more of a problem. The common areas are nicer and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Nothing special but it sufficed and made our kids happy. The pool was murky and definitely needed to be shocked with chlorine. My husband and I did not feel comfortable swimming in it. The on-site gym is small but perfect for our needs and was empty every time I used it. None of the staff seemed very friendly and we didn’t get any welcome, thank you for staying, or greetings as you come and go. The location and price cannot be beat though. We walked to many locations and the street car stop being right out front was very convenient. Parking for 20 dollars a day in the protected lot was much cheaper than the cost of parking at other downtown hotels. Overall it was the location that made this hotel and not anything else.
