The Sonesta ES Suites New Orleans Convention Center offers a convenient location near attractions and the convention center, boasting amenities like a pool and kitchenette. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent housekeeping services, dated rooms requiring renovations, and occasional issues with staff responsiveness and operational problems such as malfunctioning equipment and added charges.
Overall good place to stay, stayed for 3 nights. It is closer to most locations and they have mini kitchen with stove. The breakfast was decent, with the usual hotel options, and everything was consistently refilled on time. PROBLEM: Only issue is they dont have full housekeeping service. After 2 nights I requested for housekeeping, but they denied saying I should have requested a day before. But I am glad they atleast gave me fresh towel. Overall good hotel, if they can provide proper housekeeping it would be great.
I’ll go easy on this review since this honestly would not have been my first choice of hotel, but based on the heavily edited photos online my husband thought it was a nice place for me to stay while attending a family member’s birthday celebration in New Orleans. The booking was last minute and we later realized it was an extended stay hotel, but I was traveling alone, arrived late, and was too tired to switch hotels. The rooms are outdated and definitely need renovations. The lighting is very dim, you can hear people walking above you, and the water pressure in the shower is low. The shower head also had buildup that should’ve been cleaned during routine maintenance. I’m also not a fan of the shampoo/soap bottles mounted in the shower — it feels unsanitary, although I bring my own products anyway. The kitchenette was nice and came with the essentials. Valet staff were cool and professional, although valet was expensive. I still chose it for the convenience and added security. Front desk staff were friendly, but somehow both my cards ended up being charged after I specifically said not to use the card on file. The WiFi also stopped working on my last day, so I couldn’t use the TV apps like YouTube and had to remotely log my account out from my phone before leaving. Overall, not the worst stay, but not somewhere I’d personally book again.
I stayed here for 7 nights and I was very happy with my choice. The location in the Warehouse District was ideal, within easy walking distance of the National WWII Museum, the riverfront, the St Charles streetcar and plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was a real bonus, especially after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was included and, while fairly basic, was more than adequate and a nice convenience. The complimentary popcorn in reception was also a thoughtful touch. Housekeeping was provided on request rather than automatically, which seems to be common in New Orleans. Whenever I asked for fresh towels or additional supplies, they were provided promptly. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this offered an excellent combination of location, comfort and value for money. I would happily stay here again.
The perfect home base for an extended trip or anyone attending an event at the Convention Center. The location is excellent—within walking distance of the WWII Museum and some of the best restaurants in the Warehouse District. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast and the fact that we could save a bit of money by using the kitchen in our suite. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!
The layout of the room was awesome and the dishes and silverware were clean. Room had a few small issues from age and use but overall, we would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was great. I would say as good as any hotel breakfast we have had in terms of food quality and selections. And of course there’s coffee. :). Staff were friendly also.
The staff here was very nice, friendly and eager to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were nice, however the AC was very loud. We were also unable to adjust the air vents due to them being broken. We were unable to adjust the air flow which blew directly on you, in the bed or sitting on the sofa. Very noisy street at night.
Taylor I. and his team are amazing! Enjoyed my stay and will stay here in the future. Valet guys, front desk, cooks all made the stay more feel at-home. Great location, clean, breakfast, rooms and pool area. Close to everything you need for a amazing trip.
After checking in we had to switch rooms because of the roach hanging out in the bathroom. I never recieved the cleans towels I requested, and they didnt have housekeeping. We were there for five days. Other than that the staff was cool, and the room was fine for the price.
We came here for the Endymon Corrination. A kid free weekend and to celebrate our anniversary. The rooms were great so much room. The showers had lots of hot water and great water pressure. What wasn't great were the 9 young children left unattended in the room across the hall. They would leave the door open blaring music and running up and down the halls screaming. This started at noon on Saturday and continued until maybe 3 or 4 am when they must have finally fallen asleep. We were gone between 6pm and 1am but other guest assured us the hallway party didnt stop.By 9 am full screaming carrying on ensued. Called the front desk no one answers call the main line with our cells got someone who did nothing. We called atleast 5 times throughout the day and night. Would not change rooms ore deal with the situation. It isn't even mardi gras but this is ridiculous. I wanted to really like this place and stay here again next year but the lack of customer service will prevent us from doing that again and will not be recommending to our group which was looking for hotels.
It started great with them allowing us to check in around 10am. All we did was leave our bags in our room and left for the day. We didn't return until 11pm, to find several people wondering around in the atrium and about 10-12 people going in and out of the room next to ours slamming the door. There was also trash and sheets outside of several rooms in piles. As we tried to ignore the ruckus and shower but the shower was backed up. So i went down to reception to swap our room. The Staff was helpful and switched our room, room was in better shape and shower was good. But, the ruckus continued as I write this review at 1:25am. there's yelling in the Atrium and a crowd of about 9-10 people out in the courtyard. I advised the security guard twice that there was a party or a gathering going on and nothing was done. Disappointing stay and going to look into getting a refund. I will also be reaching out to corporate. Update as if 1/12/2026-Sonesta corporate reached out and the brand is a joke and disappointing. They offered me 25000 points when a $69 dollar room is 17500 points. I just told them to keep their points and I would be returning to any of their locations. First and Last time, sad and an opportunity was given to correct and keep a customer but they fumbled it.
