This hotel offers a quiet and convenient location near the French Quarter but suffers significantly from inconsistent and occasionally hostile front desk and breakfast service, which negatively impacts the guest experience.
We really liked the location of the hotel, but be prepared for an unattractive view from the window. We stayed in the main building on the third floor with a view of a large highway. Despite that, it was completely quiet — the windows block out the noise very well, which is a huge plus. I can’t imagine what it would have been like with regular windows. The noise didn’t bother us at all. We stayed for a full week, and the view wasn’t an issue since we barely had time to look out the window anyway. Parking was very easy — there were always plenty of parking spots right next to the building, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, we were greeted by an extremely unfriendly woman at the front desk who didn’t even say hello. She was genuinely unpleasant and made it feel like she didn’t want to see us at all. Throughout the week, there were several rude employees at the front desk, and one particularly rude staff member worked at breakfast. She acted as if she hated people. She closed breakfast a few minutes early right in front of us, without asking whether we wanted anything else. She removed trays of fruit directly in front of us and quickly started shutting everything down, as if she didn’t want us to eat. It was rude, unprofessional, and honestly quite shocking. I was there with children, and she could have at least asked if they wanted some fruit. Small things like this really ruin the overall experience. In addition, every time we asked for extra towels, they were brought only several hours later, which was very frustrating. During the entire week, we didn’t request housekeeping even once — we cleaned the room ourselves. After four days of our stay, we came to the front desk and asked for fresh bed linens. We didn’t ask anyone to make the bed for us; we were perfectly fine changing the linens ourselves. The linens were delivered after a long delay, and when we opened the package, we realized that four pillowcases were missing. There were two beds in the room, each with four pillows, so logically there should have been eight pillowcases, but we received only four. It seemed very strange. We had to waste more time and go back to the front desk to ask for pillowcases again. They told us they didn’t have any available. I explained that I had already removed the old linens and that four pillowcases were not enough, especially since I usually sleep with at least three pillows. Eventually, the woman at the front desk said she couldn’t help us, but offered a key to another room instead. Credit where it’s due — she did resolve the problem, and for that I am thankful. However, moving to a different room at 10 p.m. was, of course, very inconvenient. We did it anyway. Interestingly, the room we moved into turned out to be much nicer, cleaner, and without any unpleasant smell, unlike the first one. On the positive side, the housekeeping staff did an excellent job overall. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms were generally spotless. However, there were cockroaches — we saw them twice during our week-long stay. I can’t really comment on the motel building itself, as I only walked through it once. There were quite a few people smoking outside, which made it unpleasant to even enter. No one was using the pool — I suspect it was very cold. Overall, there is nothing seriously wrong with the hotel itself, and the area is much better than staying in the dirty, smelly, homeless-filled French Quarter or downtown. If I return, I would stay in this area again, but definitely not at this hotel. I will not be coming back.
Front desk is amazing!! Nice and professional! Room needs softer sheets for a better nights sleep. Most hotels take pride in their sheets and pillows. Breakfast is terrible. Run out of oatmeal packets? Need variety fruit not mushy apples. The service staff are not nice. This is not our first time here. I was accused of using my hand Instead of toggles and then staff realized I was NOT using my hand. They look for customers to do something wrong!! Why?
So great place most of the service has bee. Awesome. I have stayed here with work several times over the last 3 weeks. Kylie is the worst service you can provide. She clearly doesn’t like or want her job and is a disgrace for customer service! Even has an attitude stating “Tell my manager it won’t matter”! So if were me I would address this but I wi also be emailing the board of directors for Country Inn and Suites and Radisson hotels.
We stayed at Country Inn & Suites, and while the room itself was very nice and clean, our check-in experience was frustrating. The night-shift front desk staff on January 7th was rude and unprofessional. When we politely asked if the parking lot was safe, she rolled her eyes. After check-in, our key card was not activated properly, so we couldn’t access the hotel entrance and had to return to the front desk. She reissued the key but did not explain clearly which building or direction to go—only said “third floor.” The hotel has multiple connected buildings with three floors each, so we were confused. We went to the wrong floors and buildings before finally returning to the front desk, where she said, “What’s wrong again?” before explaining the correct location. It took us about 20 minutes just to find our room. Once inside, the room was clean and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, the bathroom door was partially broken and only one side would open and close properly. Overall, the room quality was good, but the poor customer service and lack of clear directions made the experience disappointing.
We had a very disappointing breakfast experience here, made worse by the fact that management has not responded to my formal complaint email sent on 12/29/25. At around 8:00 AM on December 29, the only female breakfast server behaved in a condescending and intimidating manner. She raised her voice and publicly reprimanded guests for not following her personal instructions. More troubling, when my child accidentally dropped an item, the server stared at my child aggressively, which visibly frightened and distressed them. This was completely inappropriate and unacceptable behavior toward a child. During a prior visit on December 26, we also observed the same server taking a personal phone call during service, during which she appeared cheerful and friendly—an attitude that stood in stark contrast to her hostile treatment of guests. This inconsistency further reflects a lack of professionalism. Treating paying guests, especially families with children, in an authoritarian and disrespectful manner is not acceptable in the hospitality industry. The incident caused significant emotional discomfort to our family and ruined what should have been a welcoming dining experience. What is most disappointing is that management has chosen not to respond at all, which suggests a lack of accountability and concern for guest experience. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend this place.
Clean rooms and excellent service. It’s a good drive from the French Quarter and Bourbon St, far away from the hustle, bustle, and party, so it’s a quiet area. The patio area has a nice fire pit and the pool was clean. I would come back.
Other than the front desk young girl that's always on the phone, it was great, specially service, those ladies work hard and keep the place clean and are very nice. Breakfast is good. Rooms walls are paper thin, so you hear everything, but they are good.
I stayed here for 4 days while on a trip for my birthday. Check in was quick and easy, front desk was friendly, the room was clean and bed comfortable. The downside was my room was next to the storage closet for the cleaning service, I could hear them talking in the morning and them removing stuff from the room the door would slam repeatedly while they removed items. It was very disruptive to my sleep.
The hotel is good. The rooms are clean and the AC is working fine! The pool is in the middle of the rooms. The pool and doors of the rooms are secured via a gate. The breakfast is really basic and could be a bit better. That’s what took off the fifth star. Nevertheless, I recommend the hotel if you are staying in New Orleans.
We have stayed here several times, staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is always good. We used to be able to leave our car there when we cruise but that option is no longer available. Rooms are comfortable and the swimming pool is nice. The pool also has an outdoor patio and the location in the courtyard gives the hotel an old world flair.
