The Iris Motel offers a convenient and budget-friendly stay in New Orleans, praised for its ease of check-in, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. While the location is slightly removed from the main tourist areas, the motel provides a secure environment and a well-maintained pool, particularly appreciated by travelers seeking a self-service experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Iris! The overall appearance is fresh and retro/modern with pretty purple colors outside! The pool is fabulous! I love the security of the gated parking with assigned parking spaces…I love that my car was just outside my door! Super convenient! The room was very clean, nice, and comfortable! I definitely recommend it and will come back! It’s a fantastic price which I very much appreciate!
Rooms were small but tidy we arrived and it was locked up like Fort Knox we had to contact the person in charge by phone to get the codes to get through the gates and into the room, though there was ample parking we had to park our car out the front on the street as our room number 7 did not have a parking space. We were there for 3 nights 1st night there were no cars in car park the other nights 2 to 3 cars with plenty of spaces available we still had to park on the street. Location to the French Quater Bourbon st and the markets was a short ride by car and the motel was in a good location
Customer service very efficient. I salute the lady who assisted us to check in early thanks so much give us a chance to change and dress up for the graduation which was before the normal check-in time.
Not upscale, for sure, but kind of kitchy, laid back and fun. Access is controlled, just call the posted number. Rooms were clean and comfortable
A nice restored 60s motor inn with a pool. Good value only a few miles New Orleans' French Quarter. There is some minor road noise for the rooms near the check in desk.
This place was an incredible value. I only paid ~$80 a night. They keep it cheap by having relatively few staff and no default daily cleaning (which is how I prefer it). After booking I was simply given the gate and room codes and never interacted with anyone, which was fine by me. The room was nice - clean, with decent quality furniture (honestly better than the total crap you find even in big chain hotels that cost 200+ a night). Standard amenities: mini fridge, coffee and bottled water, desk with chair, TV, iron and ironing board, soap/shampoo/conditioner, air conditioning that I could actually dial down to 72. Only two negatives to report: I was woken up about half past midnight during one night of my stay by what sounded like someone throwing furniture around pretty violently in an adjacent room. It didn't sound like it came from a guest room, but somewhere else in the building. Oh, and the valve on my toilet wouldn't fully close without manual intervention (removing the tank lid and lifting), not a huge deal. I will definitely stay here again if I need a motel in New Orleans.
Third time staying here and once again it was wonderful! So easy, staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always very clean! Highly recommend.
I really appreciated the self-check in. Arriving rather late in the evening, I just wanted to get into a room and have a shower. The in-person check in process always seems to take so long. I was in my room in 20 seconds. Clean bed, hot water—and the location simply can not be beat. I will be back.
A clean motel with an easy check-in process. Not quite as pretty as the pictures, but who cares? It has everything you need, even a little coffee pot and water bottles. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the streetcar stop to take you to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.
Ok so let's just state the obvious! This place is close to nothing! If you have a car or rental it's not bad. The positive is the place is clean nice and the few staff are fantastic and gracious. The pool is absolutely gorgeous! And the rooms are small but efficient! Honestly if you don't mind staying in the hood. This place is awesome ????
